What makes Take Me homoerotic? I've read quite a few times now that it has homoerotic vibes. Is it because people don't think women "take" someone like that? Would be great if you or someone else could explain that. Genuine question btw, I would like to understand.
Besides that, I think it's great this song is popular. I would love it if Liam brings it back. I wonder what Bonehead thinks of the song. I feel like if anyone, it would be Bonehead that could convince Liam to sing it again.
Not that a woman can't "take" a man, but the term is unusual considering the social and cultural context (spoken by a 90s young British working class lad).
Coming from a person, "take me" provokes to two types of connotations:
- a sexual/romantic one: getting "swept away", being "claimed", belonging with/to someone, getting picked/chosen etc.
- a religious/mortal one: having one's soul taken/claimed, belonging to God
But these are just my initial thoughts, so I'm open for other takes
i truly love the latin fandom of britpop, just something else

idk I don’t think Linke would refer to them as brother again if Riot had any plans to make them canon in more or less near future
Linke doesn't work in the game and isn't involved with decisions made about the game anymore. The only other alive gay couple in league of legends (tf/graves) called eachother 'brother' in a main seasonal cinematic published a year before they officially came out. That's not a joke this was the literal progression:
I sure wonder if there's any relation between these specific words and queer stories having to exist under censorship! Let's see how Riot handles these things...
It took a decade to see TFgraves included in pride material despite the fact they were pitched as a relationship very early on. Devon (also involved in making lesbian champion Diana) is married to Vi & Jayce's cowriter. You probably heard the name before because she positively weighed in on vikjayce earlier this year. And we keep seeing that happen.
Every other day we get further demonstrations that fortiche, amanda, storyboarders or league designers or viktor's voice actor and so many more are all onboard with jayce/viktor as a romantic relationship, but people get too caught up on whatever CL says being 'the' word of god when that's not how things work at all. He's not even the creator of these champions, much less the internal expert on them (he's also said he's not going to be leading the next projects, and Riot is looking for the 'right people' to take charge of them).
Even CL's comments about them 'being dead' were refuted right after by league's executive producer. He's not deciding anything. He's just another dudebro upset that almost everyone else in his creative bubble wants to see two men kissing, and he needs to throw a little fit about it like the dudebros before him. But he's not the one working on new skins or writing upcoming content for the game. He's not responsible for the art or coding of whatever comes next. They are.
kind of obsessed with the characterization of jayce and viktor as fundamentally good people who will also go absolutely batshit insane if you separate them because theyre also ridiculously codependent to a degree that is concerning for everybody else's wellbeing. they were literally away from each other for a couple of months and almost ended the entire world
how do you think Silco reacts to Powder and Ekko dating in the au? honest if I was Ekko I’d be TERRIFIED everyday of my life knowing who my gf’s parents are. I also think we need more fanfiction about this
I think Ekko is one of the few people who are safe from the "scary dads" thanks to being Benzo's kid. Also, Ekko knows how soft they really are.

bullshit
(csa and rape mention)
the thing is: pleasure can be violence. it can be a technique of violence. it can be the point of violence. this is why the arguments about ellen’s sexual hunger being the thing that “draws” her toward orlok and this must be respected as a sign of agential desire are making me so queasy. she is pleasured by him. as a child. pleasure is forced on her. a pleasure she can’t understand because it’s happening to her too young, because she only wanted affection and “tenderness” and this is the gateway of connection which a predator takes advantage to make sexual use of her, as driven home by the fact she goes into trance states, her body twisting and turning under the immense power of a physical excitation she does not have the capacity to choose or escape. the scenes of “possession” in the film are so affecting because they dramatize this pleasure that enters and moves you against your will until it churns back around to agony. a puppet to pleasure, puppeted by pleasure. limbs manipulated until they are inanimate yet dancing and leaping. pleasure is the violence. experiencing this physical excitation against your will as a physiological process the mind is helpless against is absolutely excruciating. to be blunt, yes, rape can make you come, and it’s not less rape. the idea it is being read as unmarked consensual desire is making me pretty ill.
