liam is a much better person than me because I can't forgive all the shitty things noel said about him and I'm afraid that once the tour is over he will probably talk shit about liam again... I'm very protective of this 52 year old man for some reason

We know Peggy had to work 3 jobs to pay the bills and keep a roof over their heads because Tommy kept or gambled all his wages and that he refused to stay home with Liam so he would leave Liam alone in the house all day "until Noel and Paul got back"

But there is something about that which is never addressed and that is

... is until "Noel and Paul got back" from where?

The only logical answer is school and that means Liam can't have been 5 or 6 as Peggy says, because then he too would have been at school. If Noel and Paul were at school and Liam wasn't it means Liam was under 5.

It's so lovely what John says about Liam:

i can't help but think 'wtf is wrong with all these men surrounding him?!'... i also think it was very easy for noel to take advantage of what liam has said was his greatest fear as a youngster ('his mom and brothers being unhappy').

Ever since I saw this first quote, I kept wondering what Liam meant with his mother's old friend hurting him as well:

I suffered a lot when I was a kid, it made me stronger. My father especially hurt me a lot. My mother's old friend as well. They showed me only the dirtiest face of life: insults, blows. Men and religion have broken me. But I understood very fast that I couldn't believe in god, but only in myself. And it's true that I became a man in spite of myself. I grew up too fast. I'm 24, but I've seen too many things. I'm still that angry kid and unfortunately I'm not about to calm down."

So his mother's old friend, a grown up person, has hurt Liam while he was a child... who is this person and what did they do to Liam? Very disturbing and worrying. We know that his mother Peggy is very Catholic, so what if this "old friend" was someone from the Catholic Church? It's no secret that they have way too many child abusers among their ranks. It would also fit with how Liam said "men and religion have broken me". Just a thought, obviously could have been any kind of non-Catholic person as well, sadly there are too many evil and sick people in this world.

And that interview where Liam mentions that he was a hooker at 15 really gets glossed over. Being a hooker at 15 - that's definitely a case of other people grooming and abusing him. Looks like it was the one time Liam was willing to mention this, which is really understandable as this is something really traumatic and private. But back to people glossing over this, it seems like no one ever speaks about this. I guess it's because it's a really sensitive topic and people don't know how to react to this or how to speak to Liam about this in an appropriate way, so they would rather look away. The interviewer probably didn't know how to deal with this, either, as they didn't ask more about this when Liam brought it up.

It feels like Liam went through a lot more than the public will ever know and despite everything he's generally so bubbly, kind and down to earth.

It's really heartwarming how John Squire praises Liam and his talents in all the interviews. I love how he says that Liam turns everything into something amazing and how he knew it would be great as soon as Liam got involved and how he said he only had some riffs, but as soon as Liam was on board, they turned into songs and he wrote them with Liam in mind

I mean we all know how great Liam is, but it's always good when John says it out loud as Liam really deserves to receive such kind words from his partner who is on top of that also one of his biggest idols

Liam said that he finished work on his new album and that it will be released before the Definitely Maybe tour! Very exciting and lots to look forward to for us! In other news, Liam adopted a street dog called Buttons from Thailand. So lovely and great that he rescued this precious dog. He also adopted his cats from an animal shelter. He has a big heart.

What makes Take Me homoerotic? I've read quite a few times now that it has homoerotic vibes. Is it because people don't think women "take" someone like that? Would be great if you or someone else could explain that. Genuine question btw, I would like to understand.

Besides that, I think it's great this song is popular. I would love it if Liam brings it back. I wonder what Bonehead thinks of the song. I feel like if anyone, it would be Bonehead that could convince Liam to sing it again.

Not that a woman can't "take" a man, but the term is unusual considering the social and cultural context (spoken by a 90s young British working class lad).

Coming from a person, "take me" provokes to two types of connotations:

- a sexual/romantic one: getting "swept away", being "claimed", belonging with/to someone, getting picked/chosen etc.

- a religious/mortal one: having one's soul taken/claimed, belonging to God

But these are just my initial thoughts, so I'm open for other takes
