[ Um! Just a little note about our AU… I know I have gotten a few replies like this, and Oz-mun informed me similarly… and I just want to clear this up before it continues. ]

[ The AU is closed. Even if you don’t have a blog specifically for this AU, we’d really rather you not play an AU version of your character to interact with us. ;; The point of these two is to have a completely separate universe from your canon muses… That’s what will make it interesting! So… please, ah… don’t make replies where you are a part of the universe, especially no one vital (like Vincent or Elliot) without our explicit permission.  «♕» It wasn't often that Orianna spoke to the blond-haired man. Vincent always seemed to be doing something every time she would pass him, be it some errand for her father or some other household task. With a smile, she crept up behind the taller man and tapped his shoulder to get his attention.

"Good evening, Vince!"

«♕» More newcomers? This late in the day? Orianna shifted a bit on the balls of her feet, smoothing out the fabric of her dress down to hide her anxiousness. She really didn't like greeting newcomers to the estate, but it was her task now. At least, to greet them when there were no servants around. Gilbert would probably throw a tantrum if he realized she was greeting these new faces alone, but who would be stupid enough to come here to kill a Viscount?

"Welcome to the Vessalius estate!" How tiring was it to say that, now?

"My name is Orianna Vessalius. Are you here to see my father?"

«♕» It's not like she always had to have Gil by her side if she wanted to venture out.

So, that was half of the reason why Orianna Vessalius was wandering around one of the lesser known markets in Sablier, hair pinned up and hidden under a shorter version of her own blonde hair. It was always a bit trickier when Gilbert wasn't around to help her put on this little outfit, but she wanted to surprise him with a gift. And there was no way she would have been allowed out to the marketplace without supervision. They just simply thought she was in her rooms. Gilbert would find out soon enough, like he always does, but for now she was in the clear.

Perhaps he could use a new coat, or perhaps even a watch? Gil wouldn't mind a new watch, would he?

ℬ∬ It was a far-fetched idea, to say the least. However, the brunette was determined to become well-known in a field of work that was labeled as a more masculine subject of the time: Asha wanted to become an artist. As such, one of the best ways was to offer her services, to get her name out there. What better way than to offer them to the Vessalius Dukedom?

"Welcome to the Vessalius House. My name is Orianna Vessalius, is there any way I can be of service to you while you all are in my home?"

  Wait a minute.. “Orianna—? Uhm…— I thought your name was Ada Vessalius, Ma’am,” Wow, nice way to ruin that first impression. Although, the name confusion did deserve some form of questioning; everyone always referred to the children of Zai Vessalius as Oz and Ada Vessalius. Was that not the truth? (Or did this girl somehow changed her name legally?)

«♕» For a moment, Orianna paused.

She had never heard of anyone named Ada Vessalius in her life. Perhaps a far-cousin of hers, maybe even related to her father's brother, but no one in direct relation to herself. "Coming to someone's home and calling them an improper name is rude." Here, she straightened herself up to her full height, even though compared to someone like Gilbert who towered over here, she still fancied that she herself was tall for a woman.

"My name is Orianna Vessalius, first and only child of Viscount Zai Vessalius." And yes, Orianna's first impression has been a bit soured, but perhaps this unnamed woman could make that up to her in time.

"And your name, miss?"

«♕» Another visitor? Something seemed ... odd, about this gentleman. His attire surely had something to do about it, but it was also the way he carried himself. As if... he somehow bared some great weight on his shoulders. Regardless, Orianna smiled brightly at the man as he entered, bowing her head in a gesture of respect.

"Welcome to the Vessalius estate, sir. Is there something I could help you with? My father is currently not home, but if you wouldn't mind waiting, I'm sure he would return shortly."

«♙» “I… I think Milady would find that the ground is… f-far more agreeable…”

What a weak argument he mounts in the face of his strong mistress, and all their shared years ought to remind Gilbert that such a timid attempt will be quite effortlessly crushed by her immovable will. Ever headstrong and stubborn, Orianna Vessalius be a force to not be trifled with, but apparently her valet will never quite fathom that his delicate attempts at persuading her shall never carry the weight he intends.

The young man toes the earth with his mud-caked boot, nudging at the dirt and emerald blades to try and show her that, yes, the ground is quite lovely today, you really ought to come back down here and enjoy it safely with me—. 

"P-Please… climb down…?"

«♕» "Where is the fun in simply coming down?"

Adjusting herself on the branch to the most comfortable position, Orianna began to swing her legs just a bit back and forth. Gilbert should really be a bit more forceful in his demands for her safety. Half the time, she refused simply on principle -- how could she trust him to keep her safe under the guise of Oz if he cannot keep her safe in the secluded area of their own estate!

(Of course, Orianna trusted this man with her life. That was never in question, even if her actions spoke differently. He simply needed a bit of prompting to assert himself more.)

"I think a far better option would be for you to join me."

«♕» Just.... what exactly was Gilbert wearing?

It looked nothing like his usual attire, which could be described as functional, at best. He seemed to have donned some sort of heavy coat, the make of which looked very expensive, indeed. Should Orianna question where he was able to obtain such an outfit? Or was it not her place to judge that of her oldest and dearest friend. Still, a bit of teasing over his new outfit wouldn't go amiss -- she wouldn't dare question why that sleeve of his left arm hung loose. A fashion statement, perhaps?

"Giiiil~! Where have you been all morning!"

«♕» What a strange day for visitors.

And yet, her father decided that today it would be her task to greet them, to practice for the day when she herself would be tasked with greeting visitors as a daily occurrence. Always confident in her actions, Orianna refrained from smoothing down parts of her dress so as not to appear apprehensive about these new faces. A Vessalius has their pride, at the very least.

"Welcome to the Vessalius House. My name is Orianna Vessalius, is there any way I can be of service to you while you all are in my home?"

«♙» If Gilbert was useful for one thing and that alone, it would be worrying.

And how he frets and fidgets at the base of the grand tree, that massive and mighty oak that towered above their heads as children. How many blissful afternoons did they pass in the shade of these leaves, rolling in the sweet grass entwined around its roots? Of course, the valet does not dare dwell upon such nostalgia so long as his mistress be so far above his head, scaling the branches like the careless young woman she is.

"M-Milady…! P-Please… will you not come down now…?"

«♕» How long has it been since she'd been able to enjoy such a nice day as today?

It's not like she ever had time to herself. Whether it be tutors, or lessons in etiquette  or who knows what, she always seemed busy. But at least she had been able to escape for a few hours, at least to catch some fresh air. Orianna did, of course, make sure she was wearing at least something appropriate to be running about the estate in. A dress, yes, but something less constricting than the ones she'd been forced in before. Giggling, she perched herself on a branch far enough above Gilbert's head so that she couldn't be reached.

"I believe you should come up here and join me!"
