Last day in Florida for a while...

Today was a great day, honestly! The Dalí Museum had a guest lecture today on the nature of the art collector over the years. Their personalities, characteristics, etc. I also met one of Mum’s friends from her Spain trip, and after the lecture, the three of us went to have lunch at the crepe place we’d been to before. Today’s lunch was fun and relaxing, and we quite liked our orders this time round.
We then went to see another friend’s art gallery, and explored that part of St. Pete (including the historic little Post Office sitting just a block away).
In the evening, I explored the Riverwalk and train bridge - and even spotted a train crossing the bridge! I hadn’t seen the bridge (as it’s usually not down) ever move in person.

Being home is great, even though I’m barely doing anything (is this the closest I’ll have to a summer this year? Are the summers of my youth and childhood gone for good???)
It’s also sort of my last few days, since Papa and I are leaving this coming weekend to go back up to DC. There was a beautiful lightning storm in the evening.

And a nice Memorial Day weekend start. After these last few weeks, it’s nice to feel as if I’ve finally gotten a summer vacation, at least for a bit. I’ve more or less settled on an apartment in my head (and the less I rely on the Metro, the better! It caught fire again today - at Arlington National Cemetery of all the places! On Memorial Day weekend!). We’ll see what happens with this background check, though ideally this means I’ll just push some stuff back and finally enjoy my time off.
Swimming and tanning is lovely.

Apartment hunting, day 4. I think I found something I like though, which I saw yesterday. Location is good. Price is a little much, but it includes utilities so it’s better than some of the things I’ve seen.
Decided to fly home and have a vacation... And the night I come, Tampa shoots off fireworks. I know it’s coincidental, with there being a festival, but still. Makes me feels as if Florida is greeting me home. :) (There’s a neater photograph on my Instagram!)

Apartment hunting, day 3. Background check held up a little, so didn’t go at it hard.
Instead also went to Jazz in the Gardens in the evening with some friends, and then out to a bar on the river in SW DC. Didn’t drink too much, still looking at more tomorrow.

Bright and early, back to DC, this time to go apartment hunting.
I saw about three apartments today, and am starting to get an idea of what I ought to be looking at. However, I have appointments also all of tomorrow, thus while I thought I saw some for good deals today, I might’ve been wrong.
Luckily, a friend of a friend allowed me to crash on his couch for the next few days, which is extremely kind of him and his roommates to allow me to do so.

And just like that, two houses in one day, though this time from the house to the apartment.
I spent the majority of the morning and early afternoon packing and organising everything for myself to bring and for dad to then later bring up - I managed to actually pack everything up within the last two days, though I wasn’t sure if it’d be possible.
In the evening - another game! It was also rather nerve wracking.

One day in two different households, as we went from the apartment to the house. There wasn’t much to do at the house besides pack, and I worked on cleaning out my room, going through old papers and unnecessary things.
I did eventually find a stack of my old high school graduation cards, with a couple of gifts I’d forgotten over the years. Other than that, quiet day and evening.

So today, for the first time in ages, my dad convinced me to go out and play golf. And y’know, it was fun! I liked it. I shot a 95, which isn’t too bad given that I haven’t played in about a year.
We played with another fellow who was grouped with us to speed things up, a Bill, I believe. Also nice guy.
We came back to Tampa, and Mum and I rested a bit before in the evening going out for a performance by visiting Russian artists who specialised in spoken word. Or rather, they performed Russian poetry - reading epic poems in the nature of how they interpret the characters of the poem. There were also musicians, song writers, etc. It was quite lovely, and I know Mum very much enjoyed talking with and meeting the artists. I didn’t realise how involved she’d gotten with the Russian society nearby.

Saturday, and a break, finally. This time round, we sort of did nothing, until having lunch in the early afternoon with a couple friends to celebrate my graduation. We went to Ulele, one of my favourite restaurants in Tampa. Literally, try their wedding beer. It’s locally made, and absolutely incredible (though it is a fruitier beer).
Well, after that, they came over, we started drinking champagne, etc. etc.
Day drunk for.. Well. Four hours? The sunset was rather phenomenal...

Sort of took a break today, at least, I’m slowing down all of my apartment requests. There was another playoffs game in the evening, but this time, the famous Mario Lemieux showed up to watch his own team.
But today, the Penguins lost. :) Bolts could’ve done better - we had a solid 3-0 lead and the Penguins nearly caught up and took us into overtime, but we managed to score the extra goal to take the win.

Thursday, just as quiet. However, yesterday, I only did adult things for maybe about... half the day. Today, it was the whole damn day. I scheduled the majority of the appointments today and sent out a million emails.
Mum was cooking and cleaning while I was constantly on the phone.
I don’t like this, but I do need to live somewhere.

It’s always much livelier in the city, plus in the apartment, we have wi-fi, unlike in the house. However, my life isn’t easy at the moment - I had to book apartment viewings, send more emails, and do all around general more adulting things which are all boring and stressful and drive me insane.
The only relief was the hockey game in the evening.
