Attention LGBTQIA Etsy Sellers!
I’m putting together a list of LGBTQIA Etsy sellers that I’ll be publishing here on Tumblr. I’m hoping it’ll become a great resource for folks who want to support LGBTQIA businesses, as well as a way for us sellers to get in touch and create a supportive community here on Tumblr.
What I need from you:
-Please message me with your shop name, a link, and a brief description of what you sell. I’ll include the description in my lists to inform potential buyers, so try to keep it to about 50 words to conserve space. You can disclose as much or as little about your identity as you’re comfortable, just please make it clear you’re looking to be included on this list. I’m also trying to put together a list of disabled/chronically ill Etsy sellers- you can find the post on that here (feel free to put yourself on both lists if you qualify for both!)
-PLEASE only send your own information. Don’t nominate shops you don’t own- it should be each seller’s choice to be included in a list that publicizes a part of their identity that not everyone is comfortable publicizing.
-These lists are only for sellers who identify as LGBTQIA+. Allies are welcome to show support by sharing and promoting the list, and of course by shopping from these stores!
-Your items do not have to be Pride themed in any way! Feel free to mention in your shop description if they are, but it’s in no way required that you sell identity-related items.
-Please, no shops that sell items with images or slogans that could be considered discriminatory or hateful. This includes vintage and antique items that would currently be considered racist, misogynistic, homophobic, antisemitic, etc. I’m going to try very hard to screen shops for this type of thing, but please don’t make my life harder than it is already :P
-This is all I can think of for now, so I’ll be sure to update my requirements as I get a better idea of what other people are looking for in lists like these.
The list so far is pretty short, so please boost this post for all of your followers! Let’s get some more names for the first draft of the list!

Attention Disabled Etsy Sellers!
I’m putting together a master list of disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, etc. Etsy sellers that I’ll be publishing here on Tumblr. It can often be difficult for people like us to hold down a conventional job, so I know a lot of us have turned to online markets to support ourselves! I’m hoping this list will become a great resource for folks who want to support people with disabilities, as well as a way for us sellers to get in touch and create a supportive community here on Tumblr.

I’ll include the description in my lists to inform potential buyers, so try to keep it to about 50 words to conserve space. You can disclose as much or as little about your identity and your conditions as you’re comfortable with, just please make it clear you’re looking to be included on this list. I’m also trying to put together a list of LGBTQIA Etsy sellers- you can find the post on that here (feel free to put yourself on both lists if you qualify for both!)

-These lists are only for sellers who identify as disabled (or chronically ill, neurodivergent, mentally ill, etc). Anyone else who wants to show support is welcome to do so by promoting the list, and of course by shopping from these stores!
- Make sure to mention in your description if you provide resources for people with disabilities! I’ve seen some really creative and beautiful communication aids, stimming jewelry, mobility aids, etc. on Etsy, and it’s always nice to be able to buy these things from sellers who are actually members of the community. It’s NOT a requirement that you sell anything like that to be included on the list, I just want to make sure I include that information in your shop description if you DO.
-Please, no shops that sell items with images or slogans that could be considered discriminatory or hateful. I’ve got a few shops for the list, but I need at least a dozen more to make the first draft worthwhile. Please signal boost this for your followers!
In 1692 an artist known only as “A. Boogert” sat down to write a book in Dutch about mixing watercolors. Not only would he begin the book with a bit about the use of color in painting, but would go on to explain how to create certain hues and change the tone by adding one, two, or three parts of water. The premise sounds simple enough, but the final product is almost unfathomable in its detail and scope.
Spanning nearly 800 completely handwritten (and painted) pages, Traité des couleurs servant à la peinture à l’eau, was probably the most comprehensive guide to paint and color of its time. According to Medieval book historian Erik Kwakkel who translated part of the introduction, the color book was intended as an educational guide. The irony being there was only a single copy that was probably seen by very few eyes.
