Teruo was very fond of American comics about superheroes as a child. Even then, this influenced his character formation, he wanted to be the same as a superheros and save people. He helped his peers, but there was a case in which he should not have interfered. He saw an adult man threatening and trying to take a neighbor to who knows where. Teruo, Since he was brave, instead of calling adults, he thought that he could cope on his own. As a result, this man dragged the two of them away. The first child did not survive, but a couple of days later, Teruo was lucky and the police found the intruder. After that, Teruo began to have panic attacks and impulses of aggression. This tormented him until adolescence, despite therapy. Gradually, this has affected him in such a way that he always acts and looks like he is threatening or ready to fight. In fact, this is not true, but it happens by itself. Because of this, Teruo has developed a reputation as a strange bully, although he did not really hurt or mock anyone. In a sense, Teruo began to maintain this image, because no one really touched him, thereby he could have more control over himself and his environment. If someone talks Teruo too much, or pushes or corners him in any way, he will have a panic attack, but as a defense, he will immediately start attacking or fighting.
When Tenacious D appeared full-fledged, he turned out to be a fairly independent stand. He had the opportunity to speak for himself, and behaved in his own way. Because of such a trauma in the Teruo's soul that he cannot work through, Tenacious D rather provocative Stand, as he is the personification of a crippled soul. He teases or provokes others, can taunt him, and even sometimes mocks Teruo, causing him to panic. However, he acts as Teruo instructs and does not attack randomly, only when Teruo is in his "unconscious".
