This crack take just demanded to be done for today's prompt. Yes, the proportions are not right (compared to the original poster) and you can clearly see where I edited out Crowley's fixtures quite sloppily, but I was running out of time to do a better job, so I didn't even bother with the ones holding the poor shark in place. Sorry, not sorry. 🤷
Also, I honestly like how this version provides a closer look at Crowley in a bikini, right? She's wanted to wear this outfit for a really long time (the Ineffable Wives photo shoots, to be precise), but it didn't happen back then, because I didn't have any swimwear for Aziraphale. Luckily this set-up made both of them happy. 😉
Disclaimer: No LEGO animals were harmed in the making of this poster. Some poor Sluban shark wasn't so lucky got the honor of being introduced to the dark side instead, though. If it's any consolation... he hasn't complained about it. Guess he enjoyed the view too much.

Banana Fish Gorilla Shoe Lace With a Dash of Nutmeg, or, Neil Gaiman You Bastard (Part 1/ )
The first steps to a Grand Unified Theory of Good Omens Season 2:
The ending is a sleight of hand trick. There is no breakup.
.. and The Kiss is a body swap.
I first saw this suggestion from @lonicera-caprifolium
. They & their friends collected a bunch of evidence, but also spent a lot of time looking at how & when & why the swap was coordinated. Right now I want to just lay out the evidence that, bluntly, this is NOT an unhappy ending for Aziraphale & Crowley, they are still together, in love, and working in concert.
Start with these facts, then we can work backward to figuring out how we got here.
Look at GO2.06, in reverse order from the fadeout during the credits.
As the credits are running, we see Aziraphale’s face as he goes up to Heaven in the elevator. On the other side of the screen, we see Crowley's face, as he drives the Bentley with the plants in the back. In the last few seconds before their faces blur out, Aziraphale’s face changes to a most uncharacteristic smile. Meanwhile, Crowley’s expression never really wavers or shows much emotion–which is not really like him, when you think about it.
But also: Doesn’t Crowley almost look like he’s smiling here?
While Aziraphale is heading up to make some trouble.
When the Bentley is driving away down the street, every frame includes someone with yellow on their clothes or packages toward the middle of the shot. One of 's commenters noticed this.
I pointed out that when Crowley gets into the Bentley to drive away at the end, there’s a very obvious white tulip coming out of the plants in the back
Then as the camera pans slowly, it becomes clear (color adjusted so you can see what I noticed) that the white tulip has a red flower (not sure what kind) on its left
The plants don't magically sprout pretty flowers for Crowley. They produce a white tulip, for Aziraphale -- and it's to the left of a red flower, for Crowley, the way the two of them are always sitting side by side. Aziraphale is at the wheel.
@lonicera-caprifolium and various of their commenters noticed that Aziraphale doesn't clasp his hands as he talks to the Metatron or walks with him. Similarly, Crowley's lounge against the Bentley is much straighter than normal. This needs more precise documentation.
@lonicera-caprifolium noticed that after Aziraphale rubs his lips after The Kiss, he does this jaw-clenching thing that has only been seen before at his trial in Heaven – when he was really Crowley. We could use side-by-side gifs to document this.
The very first thing that happens after The Kiss breaks is that Aziraphale glances briefly toward the window. Aziraphale does a lot of checking out of the bookshop door & windows during S2 as though to make sure he’s not being watched, but this time I’m pretty sure it’s to make sure they ARE: to confirm to his partner that Metatron is indeed watching. There is also, I think, a super-minute nod of the head after the window glance, like: Show Time.
This is so soon after The Kiss that his mouth isn’t completely closed. @agentreynard is maybe making a gif showing this this weekend, but if you're super-excited about helping the Research of Science with your gif-making prowess DM me.
It was the tulips in the Bentley that tipped me from "cute theory, we'll see" to "OMG Neil This Is What You Really Did!" And the closer I and my fellow researchers look, the more I'm convinced that our first impression that there's something off about the structure of Season 2 is because it's actually goddamn Banana Fish Gorilla Shoe Lace with a fucking Dash of Nutmeg, and ripping our hearts out and playing hacky-sack with them is the *distraction*.
So my first goal is to start getting people looking at what's there onscreen (with the sound off helps -- the music is a lie, unless you can tell me something about the final credits music) and reconsidering what it shows, to start to slowly turn the ocean liner of fandom.
The more information I gather, the more clues I find that something is up with the minisodes, so I will be dissecting them. Starting with Edinburgh.
I do not believe in the Metatron altering memories/BoL theories, but I do think this minisode might not be entirely accurate. This theory suggests that it is due to Aziraphale being an unreliable narrator. Interestingly, this is another example where poor vs. wealthy is brought up in the show.

Why could it be considered a case of unreliable narrator?
The minisode starts with Aziraphale's diary. This establishes that the minisode is wholly from Aziraphale's viewpoint, and not an objective depiction of events. When analysing the minisode, it becomes increasingly clear how inaccurate it is.
So let's break it down.
Elspeth
She does not have normal, human, reactions to events. When they are walking with the corpse, Aziraphale and Crowley are merrily chatting. They are having a philosophical discussion on poverty versus wealth, and wickedness versus righteousness. She does not react at all. They are discussing her life, and she does not chime in once.
Of course this could be written off a myriad of ways, but if you were to put in the context of Aziraphale recounting a moral dilemma he had, it makes sense that he has not written anything about that mortal that happened to be there.
Humans. Can't let yourself get too attached.
And this trend continues throughout. I won't list all the examples, but another notable one is Crowley changing sizes. Elspeth does not seem at all phased, a bit nervous when Crowley is huge, but that's it. Again, this could be due to miracles not letting her mind process it, but it could also be Aziraphale not deeming the human reactions relevant enough to write down.
When watching the episode, the humans feel like an afterthought. I've stated in an earlier analysis that this minisode feels like a lesson to be learned, with disregard to the actual people it affected. Viewing it through the lens of Aziraphale writing it in his diary, this actually makes a lot of sense.
I do NOT mean that Aziraphale doesn't care about humans. He cares a great deal about humanity. But considering they are most definitely not human themselves, and meddling in human affairs is their literal job, it makes sense he would not attach a great deal of importance to individual humans.

Aziraphale
This minisode focuses heavily on Aziraphale's moral dilemma and reconciling his beliefs with the practical implications.
We see Aziraphale coming to terms with the realisation that his long-held beliefs regarding the virtues of poverty are a lot more nuanced when applied to actual humans. Realising that it isn't as simple as merely choosing to be Wicked or Holy.
That only works if you start everyone off the same.
We see him do a straight flip when he learns that grave robbing can alleviate human suffering in the big picture.
Only to be confronted with Wee Morag inadvertently dying. Due to him meddling with the first corpse, and him spending too long justifying to himself that he should heal her. Interestingly enough, if we consider this is a diary entry, he included Crowley telling him it's different when it's someone you know. Crowley driving home the point, was important enough to include.
I think this is the point where he truly starts to realise the shades of gray in this situation. Which would compound on the growing mountain of instances where Heaven was wrong, and Crowley was right.
Crowley
Ah, Crowley. If this is how Aziraphale views you, you are one lucky demon.
This diary entry starts with Aziraphale spending time with Crowley, purely because Crowley said he had something to show him.
Throughout this entry we see instances of Crowley going along with Hell, as far as he can. He helps Elspeth with grave robbing, we see him disapprove of Aziraphale's miracling it all into soup, we see him toast to "More murderers".
But that's not all Crowley is, and Aziraphale clearly sees it. He depicts Crowley almost as a mentor, teaching him how to blur the edges. That he even has these kinds of conversations with Crowley displays how much trust he has in Crowley, and how much importance he puts on Crowley's words/actions.
Aziraphale has noted that he waited too long to save Wee Morag's life, and later we see him describe Crowley not even hesitating to drink Elspeth's poison. No justification needed, he just does it. He describes how, even though it was Aziraphale's money, it was Crowley who made sure Elspeth could have a better life and would not try and kill herself.
This whole diary entry about Aziraphale trying to reconcile his beliefs with how it plays out in the real world, has Crowley right at the center of it.
But why did Aziraphale, if this is his diary entry, act so blasé about Crowley being dragged to Hell?
The same reason the diary entry also depicts Crowley's demonic ways, and how it could even be seen as Crowley corrupting Aziraphale if that is how you want to see it. How certain can Aziraphale really be that his diaries are safe? That they will be private forever? He is taking a huge risk by even admitting to socialising with a demon. If he were to express any form of worry about Crowley, that would be a lot more damning. Pun intended.
The whole narrative is drenched in plausible deniability. Aziraphale does not remark negatively on Gabriel's statue, Aziraphale does not condone wickedness, Aziraphale is doing his Angelic Best. While Demon Crowley is helping to rob graves, toasting to murderers, and getting wasted on Laudanum.
So, what would be the objective truth?
If you look at the minisode with all this in mind, I think it is safe to say that this night changed a great deal for Aziraphale. It was yet another instance of Crowley being Right. Within the minisode we, as viewers, are also shown that this is what Aziraphale is struggling with. Note how often they are switched compared to how they are usually positioned. Crowley is literally shown on Aziraphale's right side.
What we can really see, if we try to strip away the unreliable narrator as much as possible, is Crowley being Aziraphale's moral compass. Not Heaven. We see Aziraphale trusting Crowley, displaying Crowley as more knowledgeable regarding humanity. We also see Crowley asking Aziraphale to spend time together, without any pretense of thwarting Evil, and Aziraphale happily accepting. We see a night where they got another step closer to being their side.
It's actually quite romantic if you look at it like that.
Well, as far as an evening containing corpse-soup and suicidal ideation can be romantic anyway.
