About the muse:

- This is a pregame Korekiyo Shinguji blog!

- He is currently 18 years old, and in his final year of high school.

- Danganronpa is a fictional TV series to him. All of the participants are people age 18 and up that sign up to go into a sim, and have their brains temporarily overwritten with the fictional persona that they've gotten for the show. Korekiyo is a big fan of the series.

- For the sake of ✨fun✨, I am saying that fangans count as "other seasons" of the show.

- Will any of this change? Will he decide to enter Danganronpa? What secrets is he currently hiding? You'll have to find out yourself!

- Some other characters may make guest appearances! Check the "Available" spot above to see who you can talk to.

- Korekiyo uses he/him pronouns. (For now.)

- Mod is generally not comfortable with NSFW, but implied stuff is fine. I will do my best to tag all triggers appropriately.

"I quite like red dahlias. I suppose those are my favorite. I also enjoy red roses, as well as red spider lilies, although the latter is moreso due to their cultural significance and the mythology surrounding them. Those are not a flower you gift to someone, unless you wish them dead."

He appears to want to speak more, but stops himself. They do not want a lecture. Keep your mouth shut.

"It has just occurred to me," he adds quietly, "that I specifically named red flowers. That was unintentional. But I suppose it is one of my favorite colors."

IN RESPONSE TO: // He jumped a little, turning in his desk seat. "Ah! I did not see you there. I apologize." Carefully, he rose from his seat and bowed in greeting. "You are not bothering me in the slightest," he assured, despite the fact that an open book sat on his desk. "I... Well, I certainly would not mind. But perhaps we should start with introductions first." He looked aside uncomfortably, still recovering from being startled. Why is she here? Why did she come to me? Why is she being so forward? Perhaps this is an earnest attempt, but what if it's some type of practical joke? Perhaps that is why she's wincing. I will have to observe her as we interact, and figure out if her intentions are malicious. I don't see why she would want to speak to me otherwise. But I could be wrong. A friend would be nice... //

She would give a small awkward smile in return, alongside a nod. Her eyes still didn’t quite meet yours. “I definitely should’ve started off by introducing myself…” Honestly you wouldn’t be shocked if she was the first person she’d spoken to with how she was acting…

She shifted her gaze to you for a moment, seeming to note your discomfort, quickly noting a soft apology, “Sorry about startling you…” She was quick to look away again. “…uh- shoot…wait- Didn’t actually tell you my name either-“ She winced again, dear lord she was not doing good at this.

“You can just call me Cora..!” She noted, somewhat more cheerfully, “Are last names important?…” Those words however were more mumbled to herself than anything, seeming stuck in her thoughts, though she snapped out shortly after, “Transfer student from Australia.” She added, though she didn’t seem fully sure if that was information she needed to share. “The wildlife isn’t as terrifying as people say it is….at-least in my opinion…” She seemed to relax somewhat. But her guard was obviously still up.

He merely stood and observed, listening closely as Cora spoke. The fact that Cora was from Australia was interesting to him. I'm sure she comes from a culture very different to Japan's, and I will hopefully get to hear more about that. I have a book on legends from the Aboriginal communities there that I have yet to read as well... Ah, Korekiyo, you are getting away from yourself again. Focus. Be polite. Act like a human.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Cora-San. My name is Shinguji Korekiyo," he introduced himself, bowing politely. Is she aware of the last name first custom here? I suppose it doesn't matter. I can always inform her of it later. "I'm glad to hear that," he seemed to smile hearing about the wildlife. That seemed like a good thing to grab onto for the sake of conversation. "I have heard horror stories about the spiders, I will admit."

On the other end of the connected screen was a blue-haired male dressed in some casual clothes, his piercing pink eyes a heavy contrast from the dark color of his hair. He gave a small, polite wave to the other. The background was rather quiet except for the somewhat loud air conditioning in his apartment. It only slightly made his voice buffer. “Hello, Korekiyo. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Shuichi Saihara.”

"Hello, Saihara-Kun. It is a pleasure to meet you as well," Korekiyo replied, almost too formally. He appeared to be in an empty looking classroom, with not much of note happening around him. He bowed his head, making a conscious effort to be polite. His hair swayed gently with the movement of his head, flowing almost like water. He certainly had dark hair and piercing eyes as well, but the vibe he had was definitely very different from Shuichi's.

He gave a small nod in response to the other addressing him.. a little more formally than he’s used to getting greeted. “So, how come you’re in an empty classroom? Is it lunch hour or..?” He tilted his head to the side, curious. Saihara had forgotten what schools did at this hour, he is a dropout.. afterall. Work has taken all his focus, subjected to ‘adult’ life..

The bluenette did take evident note of the fact that Korekiyo’s hair moved with as much grace as he talked. He wondered how much hair product he has to put in his hair to get it that luscious.

"Yes, it is," he confirmed. He glanced out to his right, where there was a visible window. He seemed to take note of something outside briefly, before turning his attention back to his screen. His face remained blank. Well, what Shuichi could see of his face, anyway. "And where are you?" He enquired, tilting his head to one side slightly. A reasonable enough question to ask, right? Korekiyo's eyes seemed mostly fixed on Shuichi, observing his movements and taking in small details about him and his surroundings.

“Ah, okay.” He nodded at the confirmation that it was lunch break. The bluenette watched as the other’s eyes drifted to the window that was visible.. but not all that much. I wonder what’s out there that was worth looking at.

He had half expected Korekiyo to ask him the question back, which he was right. “I’m just in my apartment, nothing all that interesting.” He let out a small chuckle, it was a reasonable question to ask, since Saihara had asked it first.

Shuichi’s room was decorated with posters as much as the other could see, anyway. Posters ranging from bands to hyperfixations like Danganronpa. There was a small display case with a few figurines and the room itself wasn’t all that bright, the lights being slightly dim that came from the LED strips that were on the wall.

Korekiyo had appeared to still be studying Shuichi when he suddenly stopped, and blinked with surprise. "You like Danganronpa?" He asked quietly. There was the barest edge of excitement to his voice, and he leaned forward just a little bit. It seemed that noticing a few posters was all it took to pique Korekiyo's interest.

Kagehara had stayed silent for a moment, observing the long-haired male. At the mention, he could see how the bluenette’s eyes shined suddenly as the other mentioned Danganronpa. Keep it normal, Kage.. don’t freak him out. “I do! Are you a fan of it too?” He tilted his head to the side, who knew just a few little posters are what made the other’s interest pique.

Korekiyo nodded, probably a bit more enthusiastically than he meant to. "I am," he replied, his voice carrying far more energy now. His eyes were shining a little, too. He folded his arms around his body, trying to hold back his enthusiasm. He didn't want to get too excited and scare this guy off. "Do you have a favorite season? And character?" He inquired, hoping to gauge just how into it Shuichi was. He'd do his best to observe how excited Shuichi got, and match his energy.

Shuichi watched as the other nodded, pink irises staring at Korekiyo as his actions and voice expressed more interest and energy. The bluenette rubbed his thumb over his other hand’s knuckles in hopes to keep his spiraling mind at bay. He really didn’t want to fuck this up. “Oh, yes!” He exclaimed a little too excitedly. “I love the first season! It really set the tone for the rest of the seasons that have been coming out! Though, I think I like the characters a lot more in the second season.” He explained, if Korekiyo paid extra close attention he could see that Kagehara was picking the nail polish off his nails as he spoke.

As he was asked if he had a favorite character, his eyes seemed to shine even brighter. There were small spiraling bits in his eyes as he tried to contain that obsessive behavior under control and especially that stutter when he was about to say the character’s name. “My.. favorite is Togami Byakuya.. he’s just.. very..” He averted his eyes for a second, if observed carefully.. you could see that Shuichi’s face slightly gained a pink hue. “..charming..” Yeah, leave it that…

Ordinarily, Korekiyo would have picked up on the nail polish as he observed Shuichi's actions and facial expressions. But right now, he was squeezing himself tighter, trying his hardest to stop himself from acting abnormal. Calm yourself, Korekiyo. You must act normal. You must act like an ordinary human. You will scare him otherwise.

"I do have a particular soft spot for the first and second seasons," he agreed quietly, nodding. "Tsumiki Mikan has always been my favorite character in the series. I also find her quite... Charming." He suppressed a chuckle. "Genocider Syo is enjoyable as well."

Shuichi continued to have his hands clasped together, his pink eyes watching Korekiyo intently as he mentioned who his favorite character was. And, what season was his favorite as well. Once he mentioned his soft spot for the ones Kagehara had mentioned previously, his lips curling into a smile.

“Ah, Tsumiki Mikan.. she was always such an intriguing character.. her fascination with Junko was a very special component to her character.” He nodded again, the bluenette trying his best to keep his leg from bouncing. “Genocider Syo was also enjoyable, I agree.”

"Yes, she was," Korekiyo nodded, eyes shutting as he appeared to be getting lost in thought. Kage seemed to have set him off on some kind of tangent. "Even before learning about her relationship to Junko, I found her so enjoyable to watch. Learning about her love for Junko once she regained her memories made her even more fascinating. It's incredible, what love can make a human capable of..." He mused, hugging himself. Even with the mask on, it was obvious that he had a big smile on his face, which seemed to rapidly fade once he realized what he was doing. He snapped back to his senses, as if blinking out of some kind of stupor. In the background, the sound of school chimes played over the intercom speakers. Korekiyo looked up. "Ah, lunch is going to be over soon." He noted flatly. His voice carried a touch of disappointment.

Hey Korekiyo! So, you’re in highschool? How’s that going? Lots of studying? Do you have any friends?

"It is going well, all things considered. My grades are excellent, and I am certain that I will make it into any university I wish to attend. I hope to study anthropology. So yes, I am studying a significant amount." He traced a finger gently along the edge of his book, feeling the paper beneath his index finger. "Friends... That is a different story. I prefer to observe my classmates from afar, and they seem content to mostly do the same for me. I do have acquaintances outside of school, but nobody I would consider a friend."

Someone's loud, strident laughter echoed from outside. Korekiyo flinched, then stood from his desk. Looking out the window, Korekiyo could see everyone outside, eating lunch and talking. The loud laugh seemed to have come from a girl sitting with friends on a bench. Korekiyo noted her wavy blonde hair, low-cut shirt, and short skirt. She wasn't in his class, but she was definitely in his grade.

"I am content being alone," he finally said aloud, eyes fixed on the girl and her friends. His voice was firm and quiet. He appeared to be convincing himself of that fact, too.
