QUESTION FOR NBC!CONSTANTINE JOHNCHAS FANS:

Actually this made me think, re: nbc!Constantine: did the arthurian protection spell john cast on chas only work bc he sealed it w a kiss?

did the mythical/legendary spell that apparently never works only work in this case bc:

the true love john has for chas (sealed w a kiss)

bc chas is such a great/noble knight everyone around him is lesser by default

both are necessary factors in the spell, that's why it usually doesn't work

idk the universe just thought it'd be funny/make john miserable somehow

The way I figured, there were three reasons the spell worked:

1. The spell is (at least partially) fueled by the love the caster has for the person they’re casting it on. The kiss might not have been essential to it working on Chas, but it helped.

2. Chas is a good and loyal knight. ⚔️

3. John was very, very drunk when he cast it, amplifying his feelings towards Chas.
