Well, I shall begin with canon. Sadly, we know little about each of them. But the most of the info about Tenri and Shikama is revealed with Tenri’s death.
Tenri killed his own 40 brothers and sisters (and probably his father as well, whoever was possessed by Shikama by that time). If you reread the chapter, his reason, as he hints was that once he was at Kureto’s place, but whatever. The result is that he is possessed by Shikama.
Shikama is a living curse of the Hiiragi family in canon. Since the foundation of the clan he has been controlling the head member so as to create the perfect conductions for his plan, to gather a perfect vessel for himself, which Shinoa seems to be. It is witty - when you can actually control the way your next possible guinea pigs, who Hiiragi exactly were. Numerous experiments, liquidation of the family institution and common morals grant a frequent change of the family lead by the strongest of the generation.
For Shikama it is nothing since he doesn’t recognize a value of a human life or considers humans to be equal to himself.
We are not certainly told how exactly Shikama possesses Hiiragi, we can only judge by Kureto and Raimeiki. But I have a small thread on this in Twitter. Basically, Tenri was unlucky that the black demons weren’t invented in his young years, they are basically the only thing that can possibly protect from Shikama. Here I also have a description of a moment where Tenri possibly get his control back during his dialog with Kureto:
The result is still that Tenri spends his remains of life being possessed by a freaking Übermensch, to get infected by a virus and to have his flesh turned into snakes. And to wait till a new brave and mighty heir kills him and becomes a new vessel for Shikama.
Once I noticed that it is stated in his profile in the graph of interests “To talk to someone of his age (basically all dead)”. Well, one the one side he has a bunch of kids and on the other - almost a god🌚
Also, it is worth mentioning about Tenri’s ideology. He believes in survival of the strongest, as I saw once in his bio - a Darwinist. If you die - you don’t deserve to live, in perspective of Hiiragi. You were not strong enough to deserve living. And it is ironic that after all the curses and Shikama’s modifications he doesn’t die when he misses a hit or gets a fatal wound. Destruction from the inside.
The only canon interactions between Tenri and Sakae are described in CA16, but if we remember Shikama controlling a Hiiragi family member, it shines in slightly different light.

Then, there are my own interpretations. I try to keep them more or less close to what could LOGICALLY be possible in canon with the characters and the possible communication options. Both Hiiragi and Ichinose are slaves of environment cheated by Shikama.
Tenri is a pretty lonely person who grew up with completely different morals he firmly believes in. But even he understands that there is something “too bad” in killing all your family. Not because he loves them. If we use his possible principles, it’s just… not right. But at the same time in his opinion he deserves to win and to live🌚 He proved to be the strongest.
But in the dialog with Kureto he hints, that for him the price was his “human heart”. It’s not about Shikama. I love that OnS partly adopts that human is human because of desires and free strong will (Shinoa teased Shikama that he is no different from humans). So, this realization, if put simply, broke Tenri to some point, where Shikama was the easiest to get his mind even without protection of the black demon.
Tenri called him a god. Although Shikama probably explained to him, as to Kureto, that he was not a god, a god is actually above him. Maybe Tenri subconsciously felt or understood that God had done something to Shikama. But maybe it was a microscopic revenge - to equate Shikama with his tormentor. But at the same time, which would probably be painful for Tenri to realize, Shikama is a human . A bad one, but his qualities make him a man. And Tenri is no longer the one.
But I always remind myself - nevertheless, Tenri is a bad person who IS dangerous. And this is the fruits of Shikama’s labor.
Shikama is a psycho by human means. He considers himself to be much higher than humans and he has reasons. But at the same time he refuses and has no realization of human life as something that can be sympathized like his brothers angels’ ones. For him people are not even pets, knifes which he has to use for his business. And why wouldn’t a psycho talk to a knife, caress it? It is the best analogue for why he would even interact with Tenri during controlling him. A little show to entertain himself, the most important is still to have enough control so as his plan would still succeed.
Sakae. A sad story about responsibility and choices. As we can understand in canon, he wasn’t raised like Guren, he wasn’t “one in 1000 years”. It was carved into his head that the lives of the clan are the most important and his main goal is to do anything that depends on him to keep them alive (and no matter if this life is truly worth living). Sakae is a type of person with a "slave consciousness". I don't like this term, it generalizes different situations, but here he is ruthless enough to immediately point out the fuck-up. He holds responsibility for everyone and does not make a choice to try to win back freedom. It is logical, the forces are weak. But in the end there is just suffering.
Sakae is a person of infinite will and self-control. He cannot be deprived of negative emotions, they are there. As negative qualities. That's my rule. But they are simply hidden behind a smile
If a person is constantly behind a mask with people and does not reveal his thoughts at all (unlike Shinya, he is a bad actor since we KNOW his true feelings), then you will never ever have a thought about their other ideas and emotions
Basically, I characterize this trio like this:
Shikama - an Übermensch being unburdened by morality.
Tenri - a slave to the system, egoist, who thought of himself as a revolutionary, a general, who is now lower than any soldier
Sakae - a slave to the system, perhaps even way too cautious
