i fucking hate the way kagami writes women because right now,all of the female chars in the manga are either dead,obsessed with a man(like, literally obsessed)/in love with one or sexualized,and some characters are two at once.

like shinoa and mitsuba,shinoa is completely obsessed with yuichiro while mitsuba is in love with him. they're constantly sexualized and shinoa even gropes mitsuba and sexualizes her body,bodyshaming her at some point.

chess and horn,sexualized. like,that licking Crowley's blood scene. it was very uncomfortable.

krul,who was an absolute girlboss and a great character,dead.

mahiru,sexualizes herself,obsessed with guren,dead.

sayuri,shigure and mito. sayuri and shigure are in love with guren and constantly blush at him,prioritize him even when they're about to be raped, sayuri's dad even told her that guren might have "needs" at night and she needs to be prepared to satisfy them. as for mito,she legit allowed guren to almost rape her just because she was in love with him. not to mention that she constantly beats goshi when he's watching porn but when guren is said to watch it too and that a boy needs to watch porn,she is fine with it.

i feel like im missing some girls,but i definitely have my point across. he literally cannot write women. they're always objectified one way or other,which disturbs me greatly. i do hope he tries to get better with his character writing and stories because right now they're a little below middle.

Many people talk about Guren/Mahiru or Guren/Shinya, but that's not the point 🤨

Guren says he's going to hell with Mahiru because we know he feels horribly guilty about what he did and wants to fix his mistake at all costs.

It's not a matter of choosing between Shinya and Mahiru. Guren absolutely wants to save his friends, he loves them more than anything (why else would he sacrifice the world for them?), and he is brave and resolute enough to face the punishment that awaits him in order to resurrect humanity.

This punishment is like his salvation, his redemption.

He never thinks of himself first, he does everything for others, for his friends, he would gladly sacrifice himself, so he would gladly face the punishment if it means resurrecting the world and his family permanently. He thinks he deserves it, because he has a lot of guilt inside him. Just read the second light novel "resurrection at nineteen" and you will know.

Mahiru and Guren are inevitably connected, not necessarily because they were in love as children, and probably there is still a trace of that mutual affection in them, but they are even more connected by the sacrifice of humanity to resurrect guren's friends. It's a secret and a shared burden, although Guren takes full responsibility for it. Mahiru has told him many times that it is THEIR burden.

That they face punishment together just makes sense.

Guren wants to protect his family from all this, of course he's going to let them go with a smile, pretending that everything will be fine and that they'll see each other again. What he can't understand is that his family needs him to be with them. But guren has so much guilt inside him, he thinks he's not useful to them. That they can live without him. but that's not the case, and guren has low self-esteem, his only function is "protect his family, make them happy".

It's not about choosing between his friends or Mahiru. Hell, he's trying to protect everyone.

You act like he's leaving poor little Shinya alone and going off with Mahiru to live his best life. No, to protect his family (not just Shinya, but his ENTIRE family AND the world), he goes off with Mahiru to face their punishment like brave people. It's admirable.
