Admirable skills
The definitions are my own, because sometimes I couldn't find a better word to match what I meant (such as for agnosticity).
Composure: The ability to remain calm in a disagreement, a physical fight, or a stressful situation.
---- How to endorse: Remember to focus on the breath and clear the mind of everything but one thing. Take it one step at a time; don’t try to do it all at once. Break it down into pieces and tackle it piece-by-piece.
Generosity: When people give help or gifts with no strings attached.
---- How to endorse: Volunteer your time and energy to help people without question (and remember to help those who are worthy of your time, not the others).
Humility: The ability to be honest about one’s lack of ability and knowledge.
---- How to endorse: Ask the “dumb” questions, laugh about your skills, and do things in front of people, even though you’ll screw up.
Quiet pride: Pride which is not hidden, but not pushed in front of people’s faces.
---- How to endorse: Be honest when you like something you did or made. Acknowledge your pride, but do not dwell on it for hours on end.
Boundaries: The ability to say “no” and to keep people at a distance, or push them out of your personal space for your personal health.
---- How to endorse: Be aware of when you’re uncomfortable, identify the cause, and communicate it with others. If others continue to push the boundaries, be willing to remove them from some or all parts of your life.
Comfort with discomfort: The ability to go outside the comfort zone in order to experience new things and become a better person.
---- How to endorse: Be aware of the comfort zone and make a conscious effort to get outside it. Don’t say “no” to new opportunities because of fear or stress.
Curiosity: The desire to know more about everything.
---- How to endorse: Ask questions about everything. Read books, watch videos, listen to podcasts on a wide array of subjects.
Agnosticity: The ability and belief that everything is nuanced, and so one must not jump to conclusions.
---- How to endorse: Be aware of when you’re jumping to conclusions. Do not make any final judgements. Always be seeking more information.
Empathy: The ability to understand and feel another person’s circumstance.
---- How to endorse: Understand there are always nuances, listen well, try to imagine it from their perspective, believe that they feel what they’re feeling.
Moving on: Being able to move past a difficult situation without excessive rumination, self-pity, loathing, or other negative feelings.
---- How to endorse: Make goals for yourself and focus on achieving them. When you want to dwell on something, acknowledge the feeling and pick something to occupy your mind. Meditate. Be willing to do what it takes to get better.
Kind honesty: The ability to be honest about one’s feelings and opinions without putting the other person down; being honest about one's feelings without pushing into someone's face (see "quiet pride" up above); the ability to give criticism as a helpful construct and not because it is something that bothers you personally.
---- How to endorse: Be supportive of other people’s successes. When they fail, remind them of the positive pieces. When being emotionally honest, be calm, low-intensity, but firm. Be respectful of other people’s emotions even as you communicate your own.
Self-improvement: The desire to improve oneself for the sake of being a better person.
---- How to endorse: Know your flaws and strengths. Lean in on your strengths and start tackling your flaws, a little bit at a time.
