Happy Harbor - (TT)Robin|Red X
Jay couldnât help but feel a bit smug as the dork started blushing, even in the dark theater it was pretty obvious. The bird tilted away from him, rubbing his face trying to hide his shame. It was⊠endearing. How did this kid become a hero again? He was way too shy without his domino. Well, maybe shy wasnât the best word but meh. Jason wasnât exactly a word friendly kind of guy.
ââŠYou saved a child. In my book that means going out for coffee.âÂ
A large portion of Jason wanted to laugh at the kid for thinking something so completely⊠well, stupid. Seriously, this kid? You save someone and you got them coffee. Robin must have been the perfect little Batdog. Jasonâs thought suddenly moved to a scalie-panties clad Robin running around getting coffee for the Justice League. The dual colored haired teen couldnât help the stupid snort-like noise that came out of himself. The picture was too God damn precious if he did that⊠Heâd need to find out if Robbie had honestly done that at one point. It would be some serious blackmail.
ââŠand maybe I had ulterior motives. You didnât answer my question.â
âI answered your question, kid. I donât have a preference⊠but youâre slowly becoming it.â Jason let the words slip out, the tone was clearly leering towards Dick. If the little Robin wanted to play cutesy, innocent boy then Jay would let him. To a point, obviously. The motive on his end was clear⊠he just wanted to get to know the dork he had been compared to on a daily basis. Then, again, it didnât help that the Titansâ leader was attractive. Oh well, heâd bite a bullet and deal with the attractive teen as he did recon. Right, like that would be painful.
The words from Jay were so blunt that for a moment Dick wasn't sure if the guy was pulling his leg or not. If he'd whipped out some sarcasm and Dick just hadn't noticed because he was having a chat after such a terrible movie. He'd even gone so far as to glance over at Jay, trying to read the guy before he gave a bit of a smirk. "...That sounds like a really cheesy pick up line, which would be a first." Most of the people he knew, who knew him as Robin wouldn't throw out a pick up line. He was usually all business, all the time and while there was some freedom when he could remove the mask and be himself...this wasn't a common thing. Perhaps Jay was just terribly weird and he had picked up a killer for coffee or something.
An unstable hero...a thought which caused Dick to tip his head, black locks falling into his eyes as he looked Jay over for a moment...the theater eerily empty now that the film was over and most of the others had left. To be honest...he didn't know what happened. One moment Dick was sitting in his chair looking at Jay just contemplating his jaw line and the splash of white in those dark locks...and the next thing he knew he had leaned a bit closer...a hand had reached out to brush those strands of white. The movement was so innocent, so harmless but there was so much compassion and trust in that simple action.
As if they had known each other for years and this was fine. "...You can't say that. You don't know me. You can't like someone you don't know." It was all deductive reasoning, an excuse to not let this progress...a reason on why Dick should have just gone home but instead he was sitting in an empty theater playing with the hair of a stranger.Â
