Summary:
Dire Crowley was often left in the silence of his office. He fears his own mind in this silence. Memories and short pangs of pain whirl in his mind as he often or not... Uses the magic mirror for a very different reason. Something that violates one of his rules. To spy on his own son. How ironic is that?
Azul grappling with how he'll make bank during the Intramurals between NRC and RSA. Idia Shroud of all people gives him an idea of how to.
(Idiazul if you squint)
A starry night sky loomed over Night Raven College as students prepared to rest for tonight. Azul Ashengrotto prided himself to be proper student who went to sleep at the right time. But tonight it seems he has to break that streak due the upcoming intramurals between their school and RSA. For the next seven days, the school will be open to the public to see the events and he needs to cash out on that small time frame. Now, here he is racking his brain as to what attraction can pull more guest into Monstro Lounge. They have already done Deep Sea themes, so it is a no go. Fairytale themes are not exactly suited for Monstro Lounge's aesthetic nor is winter themes.
'Sigh..... If only there was something that suited our aesthetic... Something bright that can pull guests like moths to a lit candle.'
Azul thought to himself as his eyes grew heavy as the coffees effects became ineffective over each passing minute. Then as if the Seven heard his plea, Idia called unexpectedly in the dead of night, startling him awake. He reluctantly answered his "friend's" call.
'Honestly, can I even call this recluse, a friend? Well, I suppose... We do hang out sometimes outside of our board club activities.'
Either way, he tried to sound as awake as possible as he cleared his throat.
"Hello dear Idia! Why are you calling me at the dead of the night? Maybe to make a deal? ~"
Idia snorted in the other line as he giggled.
"Azul-shi, your from Coral Sea, right? RIGHT?"
Idia said as he sounded more giddy about something. Azul raised a brow as his interest grew from Idia's excited tone which was rare to hear outside of his love for anime.
"Yes, I am. I'm quite offended that you do not know me that well. Even after such a long time of knowing each other, Idia."
Azul said as he pretends to be disappointed in his tone of voice. Idia as always caught on and laughed.
"Come on, I was joking lol. Anyways, have you heard about 'Crude Affairs'? It's an anime from Coral Sea. I was wondering if you've heard of it or know any sellers there who have merch of the characters. Hehehehehehehheh."
Idia said as Azul finally sighed of relief, so Idia is in his usual self. That had him worried a little. Only a little. But it did make him think about this anime Idia mentioned. He isn't exactly a fan of shows but he has heard of the title from Jade and Floyd.
'Let's go watch the new episode of Crude Affairs, Jade. I wanna see what happens next to the guy and girl from the last episode! I wonder if he actually died from poisoning.'
He remembers Floyd saying after class when they were in middle school. He never checked it out or went to watch it even when the twins asked him to accompany them. But now it peaked his interest as to why Idia was so invested in it. After all, it was an old show.
"Well, yes, I've heard of it from Jade and Floyd back when we were in middle school. But I never had time to watch such stuff due to school. Why?"
Azul replied after a few minutes as Idia giggled even more like an excited maniac.
"I see!~ I see... Check it out first then will talk at our board game activity on Monday, Azul-shi. See ya soon~"
This made Azul even more intrigued by the hour. What's so interesting about that anime? He had feeling like it would either be very bad since Jade and Floyd watched it or very good since Idia himself is recommending it. Knowing that Idia is a very picky and sometimes pretentious about the anime he likes. It's almost like he's a movie critic or something. Azul thought about it for a while. Then it clicked, what if he themed the Monstro Lounge after this anime? But first he needs to see the anime and see if it had a wide range of fans. And if it does? Oh, he's about to have field day with it.
'Oh Idia, thank you very much for the recommendation. I'll be sure to be true to the anime's plot line, don't worry. I won't miss every little detail, I promise you that.'
Azul thought as he finally went to get ready for bed. He's got his plan, time to make it real.
THE NEXT DAY......
Azul went on with his day checking Monstro Lounge's checkbook and rechecking restocks. Then Floyd came in with a sour look to his face. Looks like the eel is in a bad mood today.
"So. What happened? You seem very down and pissed today, Floyd."
Azul questions as he looks at the clipboard before him. Floyd grumbled as he layed down on the couch.
"Crewel-sensei scolded me about some stuff again. It seriously pissed me off."
Azul sighed, of course, another scolding from the teachers. Floyd seems to always be butting heads with professor Crewel. Floyd is quite a moody eel, his performance is determined by his mood for today. Azul needs to soothe the eel's mood to get him to even work, even if his performance is half assed.
"Floyd... Do you remember that show you and Jade used to watch back in middle school? 'Crude Affairs' was it?"
Floyd's ears perked up and sat up with a smile.
"Yeah~ that show was amazing! I loved the mix and match of stories. Always changing and never boring. I wish they made more shows like that."
Floyd said with a cheery hum as he kicked his feet up and down like a little kid. Azul giggled a little bit as Jade came in the lobby with a puzzled look.
"Oya? What are we smiling about today?"
Jade asked as he set a new box of spices down near the other boxes of restocks. Azul hummed as he counted the boxes.
"I was asking about that show you both used to watch back in middle school. You know 'Crude Affairs', I was thinking about it."
Jade's eyes widened then he smiled.
"Oh yes~ I do love that show. It highly interesting. We wanted you to watch it because there was a character who looked like you... No, she was also the same species as you."
She?....
Azul mind wondered as he turns to look at Jade. Jade looking back at him with smile. Azul sighs and looks directly at him this time.
"Alright. Tell me about it."
Jade giggles as Azul sits down near Jade. And so for half an hour. Jade and Floyd discussed the whole premise of the anime to Azul. And to say Azul was surprised would be an understatement.
