Day out (open)
Dante giggled as he sat in the garden with his mother, the little toddler squealed happily as Taryn tickled his nose with her tail and ran around his back before he could catch her, she then turned back to her human form and scoop him into her arms tickling him as he squealed with giggles and Taryn grinned at him happily
“are you enjoying your day out with Mommy?” Taryn asked him Dante giggled
“ya!” He hugged he tight and Taryn laughed hugging him back
“alright no more playing, we have to finish getting groceries so we can make dinner for Papa” Taryn told him Dante pouted a bit his limited vocabulary preventing his protests but Taryn ignored his pouty face and kissed him anyway heading for the market
Chronos dutifully followed Jack through the Market place though he got distracted from time to time by the various things prompting him to hurry on or be lost. Carrying a basket of light groceries as he went. He wondered if he would see Mim?
Taryn smiled a bit as she walked around the market humming softly until she spied the familiar face
“hello Jack,” Taryn said as she approached with a smile she spied chronos next she was pretty sure she hadn’t seen him before
“hello little one, how are you?”
Jack smiled brightly and embraced Taryn, “I am well, you? And how is my Nephew?” He asked Dante ruffling the little one’s hair gently.
Chronos peaked out from behind Jack and hugged the basket tightly.
Jack looked down at Chronos, “this is Chronos he has come to live with us for the time being. Chronos this is Taryn and Dante, my cousins through Ponyo.”
Chronos had watched the woman he was certain she was nice, the boy looked like he could be a friend. “Hello.” He said quietly.
“I’m having him help me with the chores today, he hasn’t seen the market and I’m sure he would like getting out of the house.” Jack added.
Taryn smiled and Dante grinned waving at chronos
“I think that’s a great idea, Dante was joining me on our trip around as well, though he isn’t happy about it” Taryn said as if emphasizing her point Dante stuck his tongue out at her and Taryn booped his nose startling him into stopping
“it’s nice to meet you chronos,” Taryn added
Chronos waved to Dante offering a nice smile. He still stood close to Jack, not saying much he nodded.
Jack looked down, “he is a bit shy, but once he knows you he will be a lot more like himself.”
Taryn smiled a bit and nodded
“that’s ok, Dante doesn’t talk much either he only knows a couple of words, he can say ‘yea’ and ‘kitty’ other than the usual mama and papa”
Chronos looked up at Jack, “Would they be able to come over for dinner?”
“Perhaps? Would you like to I’m sure Ponyo wouldn’t mind, and Ali and Lysander would love to see their cousin. As well as Chronos.” Jack added.
Taryn smiled and looked at Dante
“what do you think? You want to see your cousins?” Taryn asked Dante smiled
“ya!” He said giggling happily Taryn nodded
“alright, gets me out of cooking tonight to I guess”
“Then you will get to meet your cousin Chess.” Jack told Chronos.
“Chess?” Chronos asked.
“Yes, now why don’t we finish shopping we will see them later?” Jack smiled and embraced Taryn and Dante ruffling the little one’s hair a bit.
Chronos waved as best he could without dropping the basket.
Taryn waved before she took off with Dante to finish her errands before she made it home she even got a bottle of wine to bring for the starkey’s
Chess arrived brushing his hair back from his face as he entered, his eyes met Taryn’s. “My delicious Vixen,” he pressed kisses to her then scooped up Dante. “My darling boy!!!” He kissed Dante’s cheek to make him giggle.
Jack arrived with Chronos close behind. “My love?” He called out. “I hope you don’t mind I invited Chess and Taryn, Dante too. I will help with making dinner of course.”
Ponyo smiled happy that they were at least trying to bond
“sounds great, I don’t mind s few more people, what should we have?” Ponyo asked her curious as she brushed her hair back and began to think
Taryn smiled and kissed his cheek Dante babbled and held his arms out to his papa happily
“I ran into jack at the market, he has invited us over for dinner tonight”
Jack gave it some thought, “tuna casserole?” He shrugged. “That fits all our diets.”
Chess smiled, “We should bring something to the table, maybe rolls? Or salad?” He took Dante into his arms and tickled his round cheeks.
Ponyo debated for a minute trying to see if her tummy would handle it before she nodded agreeing
“sounds like a good idea, I’ll make casserole, you wrangle the kids and possibly dessert?” Ponyo asked him hopeful
“I got wine at the market but I think rolls would be helpful.” Taryn said thoughtfully she pulled a cook book out of what seemed like no where and began to peer through some pages as Dante stared for a moment before he burst into giggles
“what kind do you think?”
Jack smiled, “can do, Chronos can you help her make food?”
Chronos nodded, “ok.” He followed Ponyo to the kitchen. His eyes looking around till he found the cans of tuna. “I found the tuna!” He held it up triumphantly.
Chess thought for a moment, “how about a simple roll? Ponyo is still pregnant so it would be best to avoid anything with aromatics.”
Taryn nodded that did sound like the best idea she supposed and the cook book vanished again as she went about starting to get what she needed
Dante squirmed in chess’s arms reaching for his blocks that we’re still sitting on the floor
Ponyo smiled and pulled a chair up to the counter
“perfect, bring it over here and we will get started”
Chess set his Son down to play with his things, “Dante is down here with his blocks.” He told Taryn, “anything I can help with sweetheart?” Chess offered.
Chronos hurried over with the cans and set them up on the counter, “what next?” He asked.
“want to help me choose the onion?” Ponyo asked him as she got one out of the cabinet and set it on the cutting board
“I’ll show you how if you’d like?”
Taryn nodded showing she heard chess as she thought for a moment, a teasing smirk played at her lips as she turned and pecked him on the cheek
“stand there and look cute” she teased
“I don’t know how,” Chronos told her going with her to the onions.
Chess shrank into a car form with a soft pur. He curled his fluffy tail about himself and looked up at Taryn with big turquoise eyes.
"come here I'll teach you," ponyo said smiling she took a small knife and handed it to him showing him how to hold it carefully as she gently put her hand over both his and showed him carefully how to cut the onion and everything
Taryn laughed a little bit before shaking her head
"perfect," she said smiling
