Dante packed up the last of his things and slung the bag over his shoulder, he supposed he likely wouldn’t need it but who knew. Everyone was meeting at “the Poe” which was Lysander’s ship apparently.

Dante wasn’t sure he was ready for this but if they didn’t leave by the end of today apparently all of time and space would unravel. Dante left his room and looked up when he spotted Horatio

“should I say my goodbyes now or are you coming with me to the Poe?”

Dante frowned a bit and stood up quickly, he stumbled forward nearly falling on his face but catching himself as he felt dizzy

"I'm ok, I'm ok" he said lowering himself back into the bed

"okay catch me up please, i think it's going to be a while before my current memory and my new ones catch up to each other"

Lysander was getting things ready he saw Dante and stopped, “this is not an easy thing we are asking of you. Thank you.” He then resumed work on the Poe.

Addy was tightly holding to her parents and Rowan was trying to get her to let go.

Reginald wanted nothing more than to go back to save Nellie’s future. He was helping as best as he could. “Glad to see you here.” He told Dante in passing.

Vlad stood with Ali pressing kisses to her. “Goddess it feels like lifetimes till I see you again.”

Jack held to Ponyo not wanting to see his baby girl or his baby boy go.

Chess had arrived along with Taryn at having been notified by Horatio. “We wanted to see you off,” he told Dante.

Dante smiled seeing them and nodded a bit

“thanks I appreciate it,” he said he was happy to see them all here everyone else had someone to see them off do it was nice to be appreciated

Aj hugged Addy tight with one arm, her little one held close to her in the other arm

“Addy as much as I love you, you have to go. It’s not like I’ll never see you again” she told her mostly teasing her before she turned to Rowan and hugged him as well

“take care of each other ok?”

Ali sighed and nodded agreeing with him as she kissed him once more and rested her forehead against his

“I love you,” she told him softly she didn’t want to tell him it would be sooner than he thought because he had already waited so long for them to be together again and now had to do it all over again.

Jack hugged Lysander and went over to Ali. “Might I say goodbye to my daughter’s older self?” He held out his arms out.

Chess held out an arm to hug Dante as little Dante was in his other arm.

Ali smiled and hugged her father goodbye and then her mother

“thank you for everything,” she told them as she pulled away “please try to help keep Vlad out of trouble as well?” She added softly hoping he wouldn’t hear her. Ponyo chuckled a bit

“we will try,” ponyo assured her

Taryn hugged Dante tightly before she let him go and took his smaller self so he could give chess a proper hug. Dante smiled at Horatio and hugged him too

“thank you,” he said again he didn’t Know what else to tell them

“Just remember that we will be here for you, you won’t be alone.” Horatio hugged him. “I promise.”

Dante nodded smiling at them

“I’ll make you proud,” he promised them happily before he looked at his smaller self

“you and I will have to try not to get I to to much trouble huh?” He asked laughing s bit

“Just the right amount,” Horatio smiled sadly.

Chess held Taryn and his son’s younger self.

Lysander walked up to Dante. “I’m afraid it is time. I’m sorry Dante, truly, this isn’t going to be easy.”

Dante looked to Lysander sadly

“is it ever easy when I involve myself with you and your dysfunctional family?” Dante asked him with a small smile clearly trying to tease him

“our dysfunctional family,” Ali corrected him

“Yes since we are related you know.” Lysander smiled softly. “We should go cousin.”

Dante chuckled a bit at the irony of it all

“I went from having only a nut case father to having two dad’s, a mother, and a family that takes up half the island population” Dante said laughing a bit “I’m afraid it’s a bit ironic that I don’t get to enjoy it and that I’ve spent most of my life trying to either confirm you or kill you”

Flint arrived and hugged Lysander and Ali from behind then Rowan and Addy. “You think you could escape my farewell?”

Cas was right behind and ruffled Dante’s hair, “a shame we didn’t meet while you were here.” He smiled.

Dante was a bit more confused and goaned Ali and Lysander direction for explanation

“cas is chess’s father,” Ali explained filling in the gap he had much to learn about family history after all.

“oh, well I’m sure you’ll have plenty of time in the present to get to know me.” Dante told him he hoped he got to enjoy many good times with his family

“I will,” Cas nodded.

“You have no more time to waste,” Baba said to Dante as she came to the area. “Not that I mean to be cruel but if you stay much longer there will be no time for anyone. I am sorry.”

Dante sighed and nodded

“yeah I know,” he said pulling his hood up and shoving his hands deep into his pockets as he trudged onto the Poe

“so question if you’re the goddess of time, why am I fixing the time line?” Dante asked her of course he was just being a pain to hide how he felt, natural reflex he still hadn’t grown out of

“It is not so simple, I have only so much control over the timeline, I could fix it by removing all existence of you. However, I don’t think that would fix anything in fact it would make it worse. More importantly this is something only you can truly fix.” Baba looked to him. “Does that answer your question?”

Dante huffed a bit and leaned against the rail

“eesh learn to joke much.” He muttered more to himself Ali put a hand on his shoulder

“Lysander how’s the engine looking?”

“Like it only has one more run.” Lysander told her reaching up a hand to squeeze hers. “If this all goes well, which I pray it does. We won’t remember what happened. All will return to how it must be.” He looked to Dante, “Thank you for doing this, it is more than any of us should ask of you.” He turned to the Poe’s command helm and punched in coordinates. “By the Goddess’ Light may we be true in our course. With that the Poe shot into the future.

Dante blacked out during the whole ordeal,when he awoke it was to giggling he opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar room but there were some children surrounding him

“I told you all Dante needs his rest,” Emma said emerging in the doorway it occurred to Dante he was in the infirmary of the temple

“what happened?” Dante asked rubbing his head gingerly Emma smiles at him

“you fainted in the heat yesterday while you were helping me with my lessons.” Emma explained to him before she peered into the next room “Horatio! He woke up!”

Horatio hurried in and embraced Dante, “Don’t you ever scare me like that again! You’re going to give your Godfather a heart attack!”

Horatio had aged a bit, as much as anyone could with the strange magic of this island which meant that everything was fixed?

"can white lighters have a heart attack?" Dante asked unable to help himself

Emma rolled her eyes

"come on children it's clear Dante is feeling better but I think he needs his rest," Emma said as she ushered the children out when they were gone Dante looked at Horatio and frownes

"I thought Lysander Sid that when we came back to the future we wouldn't remember anything? What happened?"

Aj hugged Addy tight with one arm, her little one held close to her in the other arm

Ali sighed and nodded agreeing with him as she kissed him once more and rested her forehead against his

“I love you,” she told him softly she didn’t want to tell him it would be sooner than he thought because he had already waited so long for them to be together again and now had to do it all over again.

Jack hugged Lysander and went over to Ali. “Might I say goodbye to my daughter’s older self?” He held out his arms out.

Chess held out an arm to hug Dante as little Dante was in his other arm.

Ali smiled and hugged her father goodbye and then her mother

“thank you for everything,” she told them as she pulled away “please try to help keep Vlad out of trouble as well?” She added softly hoping he wouldn’t hear her. Ponyo chuckled a bit

“we will try,” ponyo assured her

Taryn hugged Dante tightly before she let him go and took his smaller self so he could give chess a proper hug. Dante smiled at Horatio and hugged him too

“thank you,” he said again he didn’t Know what else to tell them

“Just remember that we will be here for you, you won’t be alone.” Horatio hugged him. “I promise.”

Dante nodded smiling at them

“I’ll make you proud,” he promised them happily before he looked at his smaller self

“you and I will have to try not to get I to to much trouble huh?” He asked laughing s bit

“Just the right amount,” Horatio smiled sadly.

Chess held Taryn and his son’s younger self.

Lysander walked up to Dante. “I’m afraid it is time. I’m sorry Dante, truly, this isn’t going to be easy.”

Dante looked to Lysander sadly

"is it ever easy when I involve myself with you and your dysfunctional family?" Dante asked him with a small smile clearly trying to tease him

"our dysfunctional family," Ali corrected him

Dante packed up the last of his things and slung the bag over his shoulder, he supposed he likely wouldn’t need it but who knew. Everyone was meeting at “the Poe” which was Lysander’s ship apparently.

Dante wasn’t sure he was ready for this but if they didn’t leave by the end of today apparently all of time and space would unravel. Dante left his room and looked up when he spotted Horatio

“should I say my goodbyes now or are you coming with me to the Poe?”

Horatio put his hand on Dante’s shoulder, “I’m with you every step of the way until I can no longer follow.” There were tears in his eyes. Dante deserved better than this.

Lysander was getting things ready he saw Dante and stopped, “this is not an easy thing we are asking of you. Thank you.” He then resumed work on the Poe.

Addy was tightly holding to her parents and Rowan was trying to get her to let go.

Reginald wanted nothing more than to go back to save Nellie’s future. He was helping as best as he could. “Glad to see you here.” He told Dante in passing.

Vlad stood with Ali pressing kisses to her. “Goddess it feels like lifetimes till I see you again.”

Jack held to Ponyo not wanting to see his baby girl or his baby boy go.

Chess had arrived along with Taryn at having been notified by Horatio. “We wanted to see you off,” he told Dante.

Dante smiled seeing them and nodded a bit

“Any idea where we might find him?” Asked Chess as he ate more of his meal. He smiled when Dante spoke to his youngerself.

"I still have a day before I am supposed to leave," Dante told them but none the less he stood any way,perhaps having over stayed his welcome. Dante wanted to say something in response to his father's promise but he couldn't without admitting to all the horrid things he had done in his past.

So instead he just gave a soft smile and nodded

"thank you, it was nice to meet you both."

“the dragon isles, he is King vlad’s consultant and king Trenton’s boyfriend so he isn’t to hard to find.” Dante assured them smiling “basically just follow the baby dragons they seem to attach themselves to me so I doubt they’ll be leaving his home any time soon”

“I see,” Chess nodded. “Well is there anything about us you would like to know? Perhaps about your family?”

Dante had to think for a moment, so many questions

“well what do you do for a living?” Dante asked them curious Taryn smiled at him

“I do a few odd jobs here and there depending on the situation.”

“I am an ambassador between all the kingdoms, I also teach the royal children.” Chess smiled. “What else?”

"how did you meet? Dante asked them "I guess mostly just questions you'll hear a hundred times from me growing up I'm sorry"

“no I’m fine,” Taryn assured him smiling as she brushed her hair out of her eyes and checked the oven once more

“Dante do you like potatoes?” Taryn asked him curious “we are having loaded baked potatoes for lunch with broccoli, ham, and melted cheese on top” Taryn asked him Dante smiled and nodded a bit

“yeah thank you,” he said happily to her and Taryn smiled before she sat at the table with a glass of lemonade

Chess smiled to his love then looked to Dante, “You said you wanted to talk lad, whatever can we answer for you? I assume you have questions or something to discuss? Let us help you put to bed those fears and queries.”

Dante nodded a bit as Taryn sat down as well, where did he even begin? This was something he wasn’t going to have another chance to do but….how did he go about asking them such questions?

“well um for one thing I think it’s only fair to warn you that I do grow up to find I am the god of darkness,” Dante said he glanced at his smaller self

“I just wanted to prepare you I’m not entirely sure if that means there are going to be some weird power in the future I just discovered it recently. The time line is different now so I’m not sure what’s going to happen.”

“what do you mean?” Taryn asked frowning a bit Dante thought for a moment trying to choose his next words carefully

“well I’m pretty sure the time line has changed so there isn’t any harm in telling you. I wasn’t raised by you two. Not long after I was born I was taken away and raised by…well someone else.” Dante explained he didn’t want to go into the details of Silas and all that

“Remember that man Taryn, that evil Silas fellow who took our boy? No doubt he raised you?” He looked to Dante with a look of concern. “Well he is dead and we will never let you go away with another to be raised so long as we can help it. As for being the God of Darkness.” Chess shrugged. “There has to be a God of something, Darkness doesn’t mean evil. We have to sleep in the dark.” He smiled.

“Tell that to jones.” Dante muttered to himself more than them. Taryn smiled and gently put her hand on top of his concerned with how he flinched away

“sorry i just um… i’m not good with….well this.” Dante explained to her Horatio had been the only one that had cared about him for so long now that it was still strange when others tried to show him kindness.

Taryn offered him a small smile and nodded removing her hand “That’s alright, I’m sorry for making you uncomfortable.” she said softly only to be drawn away when she heard the timer go off on the oven, she removed the tray with the baked potatoes from the oven. she already had the broccoli and the rest ready.

“Is there anything else you’d like?” Taryn asked

Chess smiled, “I think I’m good, would you agree?” He looked to Dante. “No matter what Dante we love you and will support you.” He spoke after getting a few bites of hot potato in. “You are our son.”

Dante smiled at him, they would never know how much those simple words meant to him

“thank you,I appreciate that sentiment.” He said smiling Taryn noticed how he had chess’s smile and hurried to the baby as he started to make tiny sounds providing he was awake

“hey Dante,” she greeted softly lifting her baby boy and bringing him over to the table as the little one looked curiously at the world Dante laughed a little

“hey I was pretty cute!”

“Very cute,” Chess gently pinched the tinier Dante’s cheeks. “So curious and gentle. A sweet babe. We want only the best for you, is there anyone, anyone you want us to make sure is in your life?” Chess asked looking to him, “anyone from your future? Friends perhaps?”

There wasn't even a moment's hesitation for Dante to rwply

"Horatio Renfield. Since I've met him I can honestly say that if it were not for him I wouldn't be meeting you right now." Dante said he looked over at chess and offered a small smile

"I see him as a father figure as well, seeing as this is my first meeting with you. But since the death of- Silas, Horatio has helped me greatly and I can't dream of being a family without him." Dante explained he was very serious about the matter, if Horatio never had children he knew that he and most likely Daniel were the closest that he may come to having them unless his sister had children then they would likely be the closest thing.

Chess stood outside the warm cottage chopping wood for the fireplace and kitchen stove humming as he worked his coat hanging on a short branch. The wood cracked apart as the head of the ax chopped into it splitting it in half. Whistling as he worked he listened for Taryn to call him in for lunch. Stopping for a moment he caught the scent of an approaching person on the breeze. His eyes narrowed before he realized he knew that scent. He felt a smile, “Dante?” But how was this possible? His son was inside cooing away or asleep under the watchful gaze of his Mother. Turning to face the direction he spied a person in the distance.

Dante hesitated, getting more and more cold feet as he could see the house. Horatio had helped convince him to finally go and meet his parents while he had the chance, he would be leaving tomorrow and so the end if the world was coming if he didn’t. He just had to see them, to know that they cared about him.

Dante finally approached the path to their house and he could see his father looking down on him, they didn’t look much alike but Dante suspected if he grew a beard he might.

“I um I’m I need to have a small discussion with you…please.” he asked softly he was terrified that this man knew exactly who he was, not just his son but as Silas minion as well

Chess knew the scent of his Son almost better than the scent of anyone else, and instinct drew him closer to the younger man standing before him. He resembled his Mother more, certainly, and perhaps his Grandfather too. “Of course.” He offered a kind smile. “Welcome home.” He gestured to the door. “We were wondering if we would get to meet our Son.” He stopped and realized that his statement could be more unusual if not explained. “I’m a shifter I can pick up scents, you smell like our son Dante, who else could you possibly be? Please come inside your Mother has been making lunch, we can always feed another.”

Dante nodded a bit more pleasantly surprised that he was so openly welcomed here, did they not know? It would have meant the world to him if they didn’t know of the horrors of his past. Knowing just how many shifters, white lighters and witches he had slaughtered in the name of some horrible crusade for power.

“I wouldn’t want to impose,” he said nervously as he shoved his hands deep into his pockets

“Nonsense, this is home, you would never impose, you can’t impose.” He laughed sweetly and held open the door. “Come let me introduce you to your Mother.” He entered. “Taryn! Taryn dearest, my tender vixen, our boy is home.” Chess went to the kitchen embracing his wife from behind kissing her several times before gently kissing the tiny resting Dante in his bassinet. “Oh,” He gestured to Dante, “we may wish to be quiet your are asleep at the moment.” He looked to Taryn to see her reaction.

Taryn smiled she had also gotten the familiar scent when he had started up the Walk way and with so much curiosity and time travel it wasn’t as surprising. Taryn wiped her hands on a towel before she embraced her son.

Dante went a bit stiff,the physical contact was unfamiliar but not unwanted as he hugged her for what to him was the first time. When his father mentioned the smaller him he pulled away to take a glimpse, he was so small and pudgey Dante laughed a bit at himself

“wow….I can’t believe it,” he breathed out with a soft smile

“This is home,” Chess gestured around the small cottage, “Not much but just right.” Dried Fish hung on the wall and jars of vegetables preserved lined the shelves. A tea pot was boiling away on the stove. “Care for some tea? While we chat?” Chess asked already pouring the hot water into the nice tea pot with the leaves of the tea forming a flower. “It’s oolong.”

Dante nodded unable to stop himself from looking at absolutely everything and just drinking it all in,

"I don't think I've had it before," Dante told him he had never really been one for tea, he usually was a coffee and beer kind of guy occasionally
