A boy in a middle school gakuran slowly comes into view, with short cropped red hair and rectangular glasses, looking down at him warily. He shifts when Todo’s gaze finally focuses on him, but he doesn’t shrink away like most people do. He’s probably around Todo’s age. Maybe younger. “Oh, good,” he says lightly. “I thought I’d need to call the police.”

Like, to not even allow himself a cold ice cream bar on the hottest summer days? There’s healthy eating, and then there’s depriving yourself. Yamada worries that the General is the latter. And so, he doesn’t say anything, because that wrapper probably doesn’t belong to the General.

It barely took ten minutes.” “Because, Todo-kun, you looked like you were walking around in your boxers.” “Everyone knows they’re swim trunks! We’re at the beach!” Todo argues, pausing to strip out of his gray pants—which happen to match with Chihaya’s—and leaving just his shorts on underneath. They might be a tiny bit tight fitting, but he doesn’t think they look like underwear. Chihaya’s unimpressed up-and-down look isn’t exactly doing wonders for his confidence, though.
