Despite how she acts Mars can actually understand people & their feelings very well. She CAN empathize with people & understand why her actions or words may hurt others. She just doesn't know how to change her actions or her words without fundamentally changing herself & the idea of fundamentally changing herself horrifies her. At times she's wanted to change, tried to change, only to be met with both external & internal resistance. Which makes that change incredibly difficult. So ultimately she makes the decision that she shouldn't have to change, instead the world around her should change to fit her.

Now that ramble aside her understanding of people & their feelings makes her very adept at infiltration. Despite her refusal to change herself she can make herself blend into a crowd or even into society for some time. Not forever but for long enough to get what she wants. Mars can quickly adapt to n Ree w places & learn the things, or people, that others will ignore all together. She uses that to her advantage to blend into crowds, to sneak through places without suspicion until she's collected what she needs.
