“BECAUSE! No one else in town has seen a red Gyarados, so if I catch one that makes me the greatest trainer in Twinleaf, right?”
It seems that Barry has seen the red Gyarados interview that showed up on TV about 30 minutes ago, so he immediately decided to find one himself in Lake Verity. Dawn's there as well, looking at the lake through binoculars and not actually seeing a whole lot.
It's foggy, after all.
“I mean, sure, there's like 3 trainers in Twinleaf, but if I'm gonna be the greatest in all of Sinnoh then I have to start somewhere!”
Agni’s looking down at their food, trying to not cry right now. Then they look at the man dead in the fucking eyes,
“I have a responsibility to keep the fires of life going even after I’m long gone. It’s not just about making sure the people around me are okay, it’s laying the groundwork for those that come after whether it’s in my family or those in my community. I want them to know that I have majority of it taken care of and that I did my best to make sure everyone is prepared. That’s why.” But sometimes life is so fucking hard. Eats more of their rice and chicken. Nom nom.
Unbeknownst to Hau, they'd had a shadow watching them for the last near hour. It moved silently as they wandered about, waiting for the perfect moment to strike...!
Which happened to be right as Hau sat down to take a bite of his malasada. Little pitter-pattering feet hit the ground running and nearly instantaneously was the malasada gone from between Hau's hands. Instead, when they looked to see just what had happened, they would find a (remarkably familiar...) Weavile holding the bun in its mouth, glancing back at Hau with a smug look in its eye.
It wasn't running yet, but that expression spelled trouble.
They'd saved this malasada for hours, and had finally decided that it was time to chomp down on it. A little treat, if you will. Something to lift his spirits.
But now he was biting air and left confused instead of enjoying a sweet snack. It takes him a second to realize what had happened, but when that familiar Pokémon enters his vision...
They know they should probably count to ten, take a deep breath or whatever. But nah. Not today.
And so they leap up, hold out a (now empty) hand... A final warning of sorts.
"Give it back."
"Because watching something that has a cohesive plot and a proper climax and resolution is the best thing to do! I feel it makes you think more deeper about the world around you."
"I am extremely biased about this though, because I'm an actor but when you get into the psyche about how a certain character acts and feels, it truly opens up something in your mind."
