This is a very basic food web for our ecosystem!
Another important animal is the coral! Coral not only house the autotrophs of the ecosystem but they also house other animals as well.
Another important animal is the crown-of-thorns starfish. This starfish is another carnivore, feeding off corals. It has poisonous spikes that can cause horrible side effects.
One of our important animals is the fire coral. The fire coral, which fun fact is not actually a coral, is not only dangerous to other animals but humans as well. The hairs around the polyps sting, causing them to capture their prey. The fire coral is a carnivore, feeding off of the prey they catch.
This is Ivory Tree Coral. It is an example of a keystone species in my environment. It provides a home for many other organisms. Without it, these species would have no shelter.
A keystone species is a species on which other species in an ecosystem largely depend, such that if it were removed the ecosystem would change drastically.
This is another thing that humans are doing to my waters! OVERFISHING

This is algae! This algae, symbiodinium, lives in the corals around us and serve as our autotrophs. They produce energy from sunlight and feed the coral they live in. This is similar to lichen on land!
There are over 26 different species of just this group of algae.
One thing that could alter the carrying capacity of my waters for the blue cheek butterfly fish would be a decrease in the population of coral polyps and small invertebrates in my environment.
Something that could help this species thrive would be the reduction of competition. If not as many things are competing for the same resources, there will be more available for these little fishy friends.
Something that could make this species go extinct would be the introduction of a predator. Since this species can only be found in my waters, once it is gone, it is gone.
Soil and Bedrock!
Our soil is mostly sand (being that it is underwater). The sand integrates with other sedimentary rocks that are home to our corals and other animals. These such sedimentary rocks also make up our bedrock!
One possible density-dependent limiting factor could be either the climate changes hurting my coral or over fishing!
This is the Koppen Climate Classification telling us that the land surrounding us falls in the desert climate! The main cause of this is being located about 30 degrees above the equator which causes wind patterns to make it hard for us to get moisture in the air to stay.
This little poop is an invasive species that could hurt my environment. These giant jellyfish pose a problem because they eat anything they can get their greedy little tentacles on. And not much can eat these things!
These guys are travelling through the seas and are taking over everywhere.
I have seen some people try to shred the jellyfish to get rid of them. People better act quick though. I don’t want to have to deal with these for very long. :(
