Hi everyone, we have a new project spreadsheet to keep track of our progress on different chapters and projects! Since most manga chapters will take longer than webcomic strips, we’ll update the status on different projects here.

Thanks to everyone who helped us reach this milestone (yes, you)! We weren’t really expecting this many people to be interested in our projects, since we’re a new group and so far we’ve only translated an advertisement manhua which has a fairly small sphere of influence. Again, we apologize for not really having our lives together a few months ago. We hope we can deliver more translations to you in the future!

Hello! I really love Their Story and me and my friend were thinking in translate Tan Jiu and Old Xian stories to our native language, brazilian portuguese. I would like to know if we can use your translation of Mosspaca, in english, to translate to our language. Can we? We're studying chinese, but we are not very good yet, so that's because we need your translation. I already talk with yaoi-blcd and they said I can feel free to use their translation. We're happy that you want to translate comics as well! Please feel free to use our translations, but bear in mind that we don't provide literal translations in order to preserve key messages and humor.

hello! first of all i want to thank you so much for your hard work! i'm so happy that you're translating mosspaca for us :)) i have a small question, i know you're translating from chapters 52 onward, but i've noticed that yaoi-blcd did'nt translate some chapters (around 7?) so i was wondering if you plan on translating them? thank you so much for your answer, and sorry for mistakes (english isn't my first language) :D :)

We've noticed as well that yaoi-blcd doesn't translate advertisement chapters. Currently we are trying to go through old chapters and the numbering system, which is definitely suffering as a result of sloppiness in selective translation.

Follow up on new project

Hataraku Maou-sama! was licensed by Yen Press last year, which released two volumes in March and July. We originally thought they had stopped releasing, but there were new volumes that they hadn't announced. Since this is the case, we'll likely not post our translations of the manga. However, we will continue to translate Mosspaca and will be looking for new projects starting next month.

New project

After receiving a few suggestions and some consideration on our parts, we’ve decided to pick up Hataraku Maou-sama! (The Devil is a Part-timer) where The SpinyBack Team stopped, at chapter 25. This is the first large Japanese project any of us have undertaken, so it might be a while before we finish the first chapter. Please look forward to our releases!

If you're interested in hacking...

Our very own imp0hster has been working on WeebCTF, a CTF competition with anime-themed problems. CTF stands for capture the flag and it’s basically an exploit-based cybersecurity competition (CTF? WTF?). Being a weeb won’t really help you with the competition, but if you’ve just been sitting in front of your computer lately or have experience with programming or network security, check it out!

Where have we been?

Red Thread’s last translation was a little over three months ago, before the weibo glitch that caused us to go on a semi-hiatus. Since then, our translators have experienced both increases in workload outside of translating manhua as well as just life. Sadly, we neglected this tumblr entirely, and we apologize for leaving you in the dark. Many of you who closely follow manhua may have noticed that Mosspaca is still updating on manga server sites thanks to yaoi-blcd, which seems to have picked the series up again but blurs brands drawn. Because of this, we’re now unsure where we stand with this series. However, we are on the lookout for projects and will accept Chinese or Japanese requests. Thank you to our hundreds of followers (and counting!) who have supported our Mosspaca translations, and we ask for more of your faith as we try to regain our place.

We haven’t been posting anything lately because we haven’t been able to access the Mosspaca raws from old xian’s or tan jiu’s weibo. When we click on the post, an error message comes up. If you mean provide prettier links to the chapters, we will be working on perms links after we are up to date with Mosspaca. Our chapters are currently in reverse chronological order, but as Mosspaca doesn't have a running plot, the order you read them shouldn't really matter.
