I have gotten into watching a lot of Kyota Ko shorts on YouTube about the culture and history of Japan and he has some hilarious pearls about Edo period.

I just imagine after Kafka awakens the full power of the samurai and they decide (or were forced by Isao LMAO) to stay with Kafka he gets like a whole audience giving him the most outdated advice xD.

Like in Edo period there was a huge difference between the amount of women and men. There were far less women and if a man got divorced there was a high chance he would never find a woman to marry him again. (I imagine with the amount of men in the army we saw they had to be not just noble houses but also lower class men). So if Kafka got with Mina for example (or any female character) and they had a row Kafka would get a chorus of voices on how he should apologise and beg forgiveness bc no way someone gonna marry him again. In this economy?!

Another thing was that payment usually was on "trust me bro" rule and twice a year debt collectors would be hired and go to collect those "trust me bro" payments. Thus I think such situations in Kafka's mind would be pretty common occurrences:

Samurai: you should get her a really expensive gift!!

Kafka: i can't afford that!

Samurai: it's okay! When a debt collectors come just pretend you are dead! I did that twice!

Samurai 2: I once spent entire night on the rooftop of my house until the daybreak. Those suckers never found me.

Kafka: ??????

I realized I like fanon Mina more than canon Mina.

Not as a captain but as a friend and partner. I’m not about to criticize her role but moreso how she deals with feelings and blaming people that had nothing to do with her issues. So I’m creating that Strategist Kafka au so they both understand how things didn’t work out and still talk to each other because they went through it together. But Kafka is an elite because I want that for him. While maybe not known, he is talked about and he can still joke with Mina and Hoshina without having to worry about titles because he is technically a rank above them or just about equal. I don’t know how ranks work so don’t listen to me if I’m wrong.

But Mina is the same but I guess more content and easy going because she has a friend whom understands the hard shit they go through. Plus when she needs to cry, Mina can go to Kafka and pour her heart out and not be judged for it. I want that for her. I want Mina to openly express her negative emotions in a positive space with the person she trusts the most. Because I doubt she does it in canon.

Kafka is her emotional support kaiju.
