WIP INTRO - Experiment Stargaze

STORY:
Miles Porter just graduated from high school. Now, he has the rest of his life ahead of him, and it’s too much. His friends are moving away, and he has no idea what he wants to do in college, or in life.
After talking with his best friend, Shay convinces Miles to work with him at his dad’s accounting firm. It would be their last hurrah before college started.
That was before Miles discovered a portal to an alternate universe.
Now with an annoying, alternate version of Shay, Miles decides to explore as many new worlds as he can, hoping to find his calling. Watch as he goes on an interdimensional journey full of drama, emotions, life and death.
CHARACTERS:
MILES PORTER - wannabe poet, ex-planetarium employee, now accounting intern. He lives with a single father that he doesn’t have the best relationship with. Miles keeps a journal full of poetry he’s written throughout the story. He has used it as his main source of venting since he was a child. He is creative, sensitive, thoughtful, playful, and often lives in his own world.
SHAY BLACKBURN - Miles’ best friend since middle school. His dad is an accountant and Shay seems to follow in his footsteps. He has an older brother going to college in California, which is where he will go in the fall. He complements Miles nicely, with his sense of humor and quick rebuttals. He is quick-witted, focused, funny, and always charming.
ELAINA VERITY - Miles’ childhood friend. Even though Shay's his best friend, Elaina is really his confidant, the one he shares his passions with. She loves fashion, and wants to start a business selling her handmade clothes. She and Miles have a safe haven, Calment Hill, where they went to as kids to watch the stars and talk. She is kind, caring, courageous, and loves bringing people up.
CYRAN BLACKBURN - mysterious, arrogant, cocky and kind of wacko. He is an alternate version of Shay, but with none of his personality (except some charm), and none of his connection with Miles. He seems eager to start interdimensional trips with him, especially since Miles Porter is dead in his universe. Is he up to something?
WILL - Shay’s friend from school, and accounting intern alongside Miles and Shay. He's an extrovert who loves to party, while making sure everyone else is involved and having fun, as well. He is also very trustworthy, courteous, occasionally distracted, and patient with those he cares about.
CAROL - an otherworldly girl, literally! Miles’ friend from another dimension, a second year psychology student, and soon-to-be RA who wants to stay on top of her studies and wants Miles to be confident with his writing. She is ambitious, smart, curious, and wants to understand people the way she may never understand herself.
