This is a very personal journal entry.
Since Holy Week is nearing, we have this jar of quotes at the office where you can pick a daily verse.
Yesterday, I got Matthew 9:13. Today, it was Luke 15:10. Both verses mention “sinners,” and I couldn’t ignore how connected they felt.
I’ll be honest, I’m not very good at interpreting Bible verses because they can feel so deep. So I asked chatgpt to explain it to me.
For Matthew 9:13, the takeaway was: “Don’t just follow rules—be kind. Don’t look down on people—help them. That’s what God really wants.”
For Luke 15:10, it was: “Every time someone chooses to come back to what’s right, it’s celebrated in heaven—even if no one else sees it.”
When you put them together, the message became clear to me:
“God doesn’t just tolerate people who mess up—He actively seeks them with mercy and celebrates when they come back.”
And for someone like me—who once hated living and felt like I didn’t belong in this world—I feel like I’m finally getting back on my feet and slowly walking back to Him.
For someone who has thought so badly of herself, it’s comforting to realize that God never judged me for my darkest thoughts. Instead, He waited patiently for me to see that life still has so much to offer—and that His arms are always open, ready to welcome me home.
I used to only pour out my dark thoughts onto these pages. But something in me shifted… like I was gently woken up.
So I just want to share this, in case it reaches someone who needs it too:
People may not always see what you’re going through, but God does. He always does. You are seen, you are heard, and you are loved. You matter to Him.
Even when life isn’t going the way you hoped, hold on a little longer. Trust Him a little more
