Anime: Wicked City directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri
“A hint of gold where the moon will be; Through the flocking clouds just a star or two; Leaf sounds, soft and wet and hushed, And oh! the crying want of you.”
— Angelina Weld Grimké, The Want of You

“When we talk about stalking, we talk about the aftermath. What happens when no one does anything. We don’t talk about the fear.”
— Anna Binkovitz, “Unsinkable”
There is a god, he loves you so much he will cripple you, even kill you. He hates you so much he will push you to the center of the story. If attention is devotion, then what about obsession? Look! how fascinating you are with the blade between your ribs, how we loved seeing you chased around the house and running for your life, for the first time in your life you are interesting. For the first time the angels stop and watch the scene, they don’t help you because they never do but at least they are attentive, shouldn’t you be thankful for the blade and to the one who left it singing here? Yes this is about slashers and yes this is about how gods can’t stop themselves from touching everything that moves, even barely. There is violence in the creation of your story but again it is mandatory if you want the myth to live on.
- Tyrone S. Palmer, Variations on a Modern Theme.
