he is dangerous not because his teeth are made of daggers    and his eyes are made of sniper scopes    and his bones are made of rifle barrels. he is dangerous not because his steps leave land mines in the earth    and his voice fractures like bursting grenades    and his tongue dances with cyanide foam no, he is dangerous because he shines like a galaxy lost in space    and he burns like a thousand dying stars    and he reels you in as effortless as gravity no, he is dangerous because you will walk into the black hole at his heart    with gratitude singing soft on your lips    and hands clasped close in holy prayer

I just canât get rid of the feeling that I am a bad person with a good heart. I always want to do the right thing but in the end Iâm fucking things up. In the end Iâm always fucking things up.

he learned to love the way he knew to fight, with harsh hands and brutal body, never unguarded yet always intense. but you see, the trouble was i have never wanted to be anyoneâs war.

And I still mourn the person I couldâve been; that gullible child that never grew quite right.
does anyone know where unrealized versions of yourself go once theyâve been killed? (âŻ)
âYou know what Iâm talking about, Regulus. Your tricks have been quite a bit of a show.â Lucius reiterated, clearly amused and annoyed by his childish performance. âDo you still have to go back into training?â He asked, eyeing the boy. Examining him as if he was a fine specimen to look at. Clearly, Lucius wasnât quite sure how to regard of him, he was a Black after all, member of a fine pureblood lineage. âRegulus. You do know what kind of organization you placed yourself into right? Clearly you have observed how well cousins perform, Do i expect the same from you?â Lucius, asked, giving him the benefit of the doubt.Â
âand i think youâre full of it, malfoy.â the words were almost spat, growing irritated fast with the boyâs interrogation. âi donât need to train.â he was thankful they were alone this early in the morning, otherwise heâd have been much more careful what he said. but he was right, he defended; âthereâs a reason i got my mark before the rest of you lot.â by this point, the youngest black was practically hissing his words, tone soft and malicious. âyou can believe, or expect whatever you want, but i know where my loyalty stands, lucius.â lies. âso if you can say that too, then iâd like to think weâre on the same page.â
âYouâre not the only one tired, kid.â He muttered, clearly Lucius was taller than him. âHave you had your nice share of games? Jinx? Bat-Boogey Hex?â Lucius snarled at him. He knew who he was under the hood. âChildâs play, Black. That doesnât suit you.â Lucius said, nodding his head towards the arm of the other boy. âIf I were you, I would have taken advantage of the moment. And I did.â
the last thing that regulus needed right now was lucius bothering him. âoh, would you ever piss off, malfoy?â he rolled his eyes, gaze shifting to avoid meeting the otherâs. he was right; reg had been given a chance, given an opportunity that few others had, and heâd refused to take advantage of it. but he wouldnât admit that to the boy. âquit talking nonsense.â the mark on his arm stung more than usual, but he ignored it with his usual haughty expression, suppressing a scowl.
Weâre not dead yet. A breath of air passed her lips as she tried to force a smile for him. The feeling was too tight, her lips felt too stretched thin and pulled awkwardly and they were. Her smile looked odd, her eyes still closed, before she gave it up completely. Trying to continue the list in some form of distracting game, she added, âIâve got a bag of sweets from mum leftover since I didnât get to finish them. The entrance password to the Dungeons right now is âSlughornâs Soggy Bottomâ.  Iâm almost positive that I ate a vomit bean this morning, which Iâm sure youâll love. And⌠weâve got each other.â If they didnât have anyone else.
regulus tried to summon a smile for his cousin. if he could do anything, it was that. he already felt guilty enough after the attack on the quidditch pitch; though whether it was from too much or too little participation, he couldnât be quite sure. âslughornâs soggy bottom. suits him,â the boy let a quiet snicker fall from his lips as he shot her the quickest flash of white teeth, ducking his head almost immediately as he continued. âyouâve got me, cissa. yeah? i promise that much, at least,â he bumped her shoulder gently, green-hemmed robes hanging gaunt in some small show of affection.Â
Lucius as always, wore his black suit to class the next day. He was exhausted from the happenings before given that he had a lot of participation in it, and some of which he did not anticipate would happen. Nonetheless, He had to wake up early to avoid suspicion. Walking around the corridors, placing his hand in his pocket, his face was indifferent, the drowsiness still occupying his mind when suddenly someone bumped into him, or could be the other way around. He hadnât notice given that his mind was still blank. âPiss off.â he hissed, waking up into his senses.
regulus was wrecked. between the time heâd spent running around and firing harmless, if nasty, hexes and jinxes ( and pretending he was casting unforgivable curses like everybody else on his side ) and then dealing with the aftermath himself, he was ready to collapse. heâd been unable to sleep the night before and it had certainly taken itâs toll on the smaller boy. scrubbing at tired eyes with two balled fists, he offered no mercy to the boy whoâd bumped into him â someone he had, in fact, been trying to avoid ( along with the rest of them, of course ). âlucius, in the nicest way possible, go screw yourself.â
Softening slightly at the appearance of her cousin, Narcissa nodded minutely before moving over to make space for him. âCome here.â She murmured, not wanting to fight with Regulus as she did that enough with his older brother and her own older sister. Tilting her head back, the blonde closed her eyes and let her arms fold over one another in her lap. âTell me something happy then, Reg.â
honestly, regulus black was probably the furthest thing from a ray of sunshine right now. to anyone else, a thundercloud might have seemed more accurate, brooding and grey, but given his cousinâs request, he tried desperately to be anything but. taking a seat next to her on the bench, he chewed his lip in silence for a moment at narcissaâs question. âokay, uh ââ he tried to think of the most normal thing he could conjure up. âthereâs a painting on the third floor charmed to sing insulting songs about the teachers and it hasnât stopped. iâve still got a ton of chocolate frogs left. itâs not raining. the magpies are winning the league. weâre not dead yet.â
âIf youâre going to fly off the handle, act like a complete idiot, act as if the world is caving down just on you, or a combination of any of the above, then kindly leave because I really donât want to hear anymore negativity for the rest of the year.â Pressing her tongue to her cheek, the blonde peered up, squinting in the dim sunlight at the figure. âIf not, you can sit down and do your best to not brood. I canât take anymore brooding around here.â
since the attack, regulus had been m.i.a. it was, quite frankly, the last thing he wanted to think about; and so instead, heâd hidden out in one of his most favoured secret passageways, only returning to public view when he feared his absence would be noticed. heâd spotted narcissa quickly within the courtyard, and biting his tongue, he approached her. âi didnât plan on it. iâm a ray of sunshine.â his words felt unnaturally bright, unnaturally forced, but then again, he supposed, they were.
