hockey bros before hoes | archie & reggie
To say that Archibald Payne was pissed at Reggie Spitzke would be a huge understatement. In fact, he was pretty Fucking Pissed. With a capital F and a P. Veronica was just as annoying as he remembered – if not more so and her Jackass brother (Jackass with a capital J) was slowly making headway for top spot on Archie’s shit list. His day with Reggie’s sister had been total hell. She was mean and condescending and bossy and she took him on top of a huge building that he was sure she was gonna push him off of at some point… And then Archie did the worst possible thing he could think to do. He broke their fucking bet. Why did he even care about Veronica’s life or her career or what she liked or disliked or how she acted or even that she was breathing? It was stupid. It annoyed him. If Archie had learned anything over the past year it was that he was done with women, save for Mia, because they were all confusing as hell and made him all… confused… in the process. It made him even more pissed at Reggie, to be honest – and it didn’t even have anything to do with Reggie. But Archie liked himself too much to be mad at himself, so logically. He hadn’t talked to the punk since he got done with Veronica’s tour. He pointedly ignored text messages and calls like a scorned middle schooler but finally, a few weeks later, it was high time to bite the bullet. Be the bigger person, if you will. Archie waited til he knew Veronica was probably gone off to work or whatever (he didn’t care what she did) before banging on the front door a little more forceful than usual, running his mouth almost as soon as the shithead opened his door, his hair sticking up every which way and a stupid smirk on his friend’s face. “Don’t think that because I’m here that I forgive you, dude. Your sister is the worst; she fucking hates me and I thought she was going to kill me at one point, I’m not even joking she’s got crazy fucking eyes, man. And you know what? If I did die I wouldn’t leave you jack shit – not even my signed Bobby Orr goalie mask you stupid fuck.” At some point within his long-winded ramble that he had perfected on the car on the way over, he had pushed his way past Reg and inside, pacing in the foyer as he continued to glare at him. “I can’t even believe you did that. That was like if I just suddenly cancelled plans on you and you had to hang out with my sisters all day – you’d hate it, dude, they’re pretty terrible, too.” Archie clearly paid zero attention to anything in their younger years. “But whatever. I didn’t come here for an apology I came over because Mia and Bobbi are at the zoo and I need a drink – so get dressed and lets go.”
Reggie had been enjoying some rare free time. With Ronnie off at work and Ashes having not yet made her appearance for the day, the eldest Spitzke had the house to himself. Normally, this would mean that the thirty-three year old would have invited his best friend and husband over and the two would spend the day playing GTA 5 all day long in pure, wedded bliss. But for whatever reason, for the last few weeks, Archie had been completely ignoring him.
In fact, it sounded like Ronnie had seen the eldest Payne more often than Reggie had and considering the verbal annihilation she had handed Reggie after that minor mishap a few weeks back where Reggie had accidentally forced the two of them to spend the day together, this fact wasn’t appreciated by her.
With Ronnie gone and Archie refusing to answer his calls or texts, Reggie was seriously in a bad mood. He hadn’t even bothered to play GTA, without Archie it simply wasn’t worth the effort. And instead he sat sprawled out on his couch, flipping through the zillions of channels on cable and never settling on just one for more than two minutes.
He’d stopped for a few seconds on the cooking channel when all of a sudden there was a pounding on his door. Slouching his way over, Reggie finally opened the door and when he found Archie there, steam practically flying out of his ears, the smirked. Listening to Archie rant on and on about his day with Ronnie explained a lot of things. “So that’s what the whole silent treatment thing has been about?” he asked, trying to keep from laughing. “Dude, I couldn’t help it, my agent called an emergency meeting to figure how to handle all the press about that psycho girl who claims I promised to marry her and then never came through.” he explained, offering Archie his most apologetic shrug.
But the second Archie mentioned drinks, a stupid ass grin came to Reggie’s lips and he practically skipped upstairs to his room and tore off the wifebeater and basketball shorts that he’d slept in last night and simply hadn’t bothered to change out of and put on a pair of jeans, his customary black tshirt and his all-time favorite, and signature, black leather jacket.
“You know, hanging out with your sisters wouldn’t be nearly as bad as spending time with you. They don’t whine as much.” he called over his shoulder as he walked past Archie, punching him lightly on the shoulder, and headed out the front door. He walked around to his garage and unlocked it for them, waiting not so patiently for Archie to follow.
Definitive proof that Archie and Reggie are a married couple who do everything together
If you’ve earned a lot of money and a lot of people know who you are, maybe to some people that’s making it. To me, that’s not what it’s about; it’s about having things out there that I’m proud of.
“One of my favourite ever #Friends moments! Enjoying this #dubsmash app.”
