Family Fisher Fishing in Fish Farm (FFFFF)
The concept is to build a fish farm beside the riverside. The fish farm contains freshwater native fish which is farmed fish. These fish are farmed and not wild so fishing it would not affect the river’s ecology. Nevertheless, fishing is suitable for family and friend to do together.
I believe this concept has fulfilled most of the client brief requirement. It reflects and aligns with Northshore vision such as enriched life and embedded wellbeing. Fishing is an activity that can enrich people life experience, people can fishing and enjoy the view of the brisbane river at the same time. Never the less, it is a commercial possibility to attract companies to enter Northshore and open a fishing-related business, it is a supportive ecosystem to encourage business. Last but not least, fishing can train your personal attributes such as patient, mental health, etc(Romano, 2019). My key measurement of success is to attract people to come to Northshore and enjoy their fishing time after they fished, and willing to come back next time.
Northshore was an important food source in the past(Northshore historic doc), fisher caught fish from the river and feed themselves or sold it to other people. This fish farm can actively engage in making meaning(Gray, 2019) at Northshore by encouraging people to fish like people used to be, create the placemaking of Northshore. Also, the fish farm can use the timber the site already have to build the farm, it can make the farm sustainable by recycling the timber. Lastly, if people feel hungry after their fishing, they can visit Eat Street and get delicious food, enjoy the community in Eat Street, it gives the fish farm diversity of activities.
To know what impact can be created by the fish farm, first, we must know who is the target audience. My target audience is family, people in a group want to do group activities and people who want to fish, most are people who want to spend the whole day fishing at Northshore. There are few impacts that can be expected, family can enhance their family relationship by fishing together, friends can do something they never did before so they can have the experience of what actually fishing is. The most important impact it can deliver to the audience is the historic fishing history that Northshore had.
As I mentioned about, to issue of sustainability and diversity, the fish farm can use of timber to build so it can reuse the timber and wouldn’t waste other materials to build it. Also, to issue diversity, people can go to Eat Street and enjoy the community there, get some foods after they fishing the whole day.
The ideal skills that I want to work for this concept are people who can calculate the cost of this fish farm and people who have a good writing skill. Also, as I am a very shy person, I hope there is a peer that can lead me to talk more.
For the skills I acquired, I know how to use illustrator, inDesign and premier, also 3D modelling application is included in my skill set. In addition, I am familiar with the technology kinds of stuff, I know the newest technology news and might can contribute to the project.
