Nothing quite as eventful and big as the quidditch world cup when it came to the wixen world in all their intricacies. It had proven to be the perfect opportunity to have a stall set up and take some time away from the shop in Hogsmeade. They could make do with a few days without her while she was busy supplying the crowd of quidditch supporters with flower crowns and wreaths and the occasional hot or cold beverage. After all things could get hectic but there was always a need to support the teams. With some dedication the witch had managed to bring out the best in each design, making sure no one would go without being able to cheer for their team.

Mary was sorting through a few things, replacing a couple of enchanted flower crowns and wreaths on display when she noticed a person approached. "Welcome!" She cheered. "Need a flower crown to support your team of choice? Or perhaps a cup of tea, hot or cold!" The brunette was far too thrilled about the occasion to note who it was as she reached around to adjust some of the petals on the crown in front of her. "I could make one specifically to your liking if none of these fit!"

regulus left the lodge as soon as he realized no one would really miss his presence, thank the stars his mother had not attended, she was above all of this, he guessed the only one who might miss him were his cousins, but they had other things to worry about. sure it would not be a smart idea to be seen around the camp grounds, by both sides, since his last name was still associated with —well whatever reputation his parents had forged for themselves. but then he remembered the disguise he wore the last time he met with his brother, sure he had to charm the facial hair this time, but it had been worth it, as he could now walk through the grounds and not a single person had stopped him.

the stall took him by suprised, he had not expected flowers to be at the quidditch world cup, it was a nice surprise though, regulus quite liked flowers and plants, now being able to keep them alive was a whole different thing. he considered the flower crowns for a bit, honestly his brother would get a kick out of long-haired regulus wearing a flowers crown, but he didn't immediately get one, instead he said, ❝you can drink cold tea? i mean of course you can, after it's been sitting for a long while and it gets cold, but is cold tea like an actual drink?❞ maybe he would try one and get something to help the flowers back home survive grow better.

“Why is it the hermit rat?” Rodolphus asked himself out loud, still leaned back in his chair. Regulus was harmless but that was part of the problem. He was a little thing that didn’t do much of anything. He hardly talked. He didn’t take action. He was a lump. If he wasn’t a Black Rodolphus would have told him to fuck off right then and there – but he didn’t have to play nice.

If there was anything he hated it was people apologizing. Just do the damn thing, no apologies. If you have to apologize then it’s not worth it. “If you were really sorry you wouldn’t have decided to sit down. Just make a decision to sit down and do it.” He grumbled, “Even if it’s next to me.” Rodolphus said, eyes closed, falling more into the chair.

Regulus kept driveling. Rodolphus finally sat up and looked at him. “Stop. Your. Bitching.” He glared into Regulus’ eyes. “I don’t care that you hate crowds, you little hermit rat. I don’t. Man the fuck up and learn to deal with life whether you like it or not.” He felt like he was talking to his brother. He hated talking to his brother.

“Whatever ‘problems’” he used air quotes, “you have, swallow them whole and tell them to shut the fuck up. Got it?”

if someone would’ve given regulus the choice between facing against the inferi or keep trying to hold a conversation with the purebloods at this place, he would’ve picked the inferi again. as he tried to stifle a laugh, regulus wondered why his uncle cygnus had allowed the match between rodolphus and bellatrix, in regulus opinion they were much better choices that whatever the lestrange heir was, but then again nobody ever asked for regulus opinion.

stars, did the whining ever stopped? regulus wondered as he blinked at rodolphus' words. maybe to others rodolphus did came off as intimidating, but being raised by walburga black equaled a life spent dodging objects —made out of glass most of the time— sometimes it was sirius moving regulus out of the way as children, or even taking the hit himself, so regulus was trying really hard to stop himself from snickering. maybe hanging out with sirius was starting to rub off on him. he could not wait to tell his brother about this.

for a moment regulus considered that maybe this had been his uncle's plan all along, a chance to protect his daughter, a final gift for bellatrix, that if it came down to it, she would've been able to take him on easily. maybe it wasn't a bad match after all. regulus realized he had check out for most of the interaction, so he blinked a few times to bring himself to reality. he smacked his palms against his thighs and used the leverage to stand up from his position on the couch.

❝welp, someone's in a mood❞ regulus said with a smile so much like sirius', the universe really did not want people forgetting they were brothers, ❝i'll leave you to it...❞ and walked away, maybe he would be lucky and run into lucius.

Talking to Dora about security was always scary, she was 8, old enough, but she also was still a kid, and when they were outside in the muggle world there was a risk of her showing her color changing hair. And in the magical world, running into not so pleasant people.

Nymphadora wasn’t exactly sheltered, she understood that there were people that disliked half bloods, and hated his father, but Andromeda did her best to make little Dora’s life as care free as possible.

“Can I get chocolate too?” Dora asked to her uncle knowing that he would say yes faster than her mum.

Andromeda rolled her eyes knowing the tactic too well, but she trusted Regulus.

“Your mother put you up to the Muggle event? That sounds a bit odd for aunt Walburga.” it was true that it would put them on a better spot in front of the press, but Regulus wasn’t exactly the outgoing heir type.

It was Dora’s turn to speak again, “We went to see James at the Radio booth, and to the toy crafting place, the wood craft person was really awesome, mummy got me a bunny!”

sometimes when regulus took his niece's hand —well maybe the other way around, dora had always felt at ease around him, could even feel when he needed a reminder of what they were fighting for— he thought of his own childhood, and no matter how striking different they were, the same ideology impacted them both. he wondered if andromeda thought about it too. how they had been raised to hate what they didn't even know, and while dora's upbringing is as far away from hating others as anyone can get, she still feels the effects of those poisonous ideals.

❝i mean it's one day a year, right andy? so we can get chocolate too?❞ regulus asked timidly but gave dora a bright smile and continued to be led through the multitude.

❝yes and no❞ regulus said shaking his head, ❝she didn't have much of a choice, did not have a good excuse not to support the ministry with this, her beloved public image can not afford to take a hit, i don't think she even cares, but you know her, appearances are everything...❞ he shrugged and let the words hang in the air.

his attention now solely for his niece, trying not to make a face when she mentioned potter, ❝that's amazing dora, do you think we will even find something that could top that off?❞

It was expected for the Lestrange family to be at the event. Rodolphus hated it. It reminded him of being forced to go to quidditch matches in school. The only thing he enjoyed about those matches was finding mischief. Maybe he could find that at his current situation. It would give him a reason to be there.

As he sat on a plush chair at the Burke Lodge thoughts began to swirl. He even managed to smile. There were vendors, a dumbass costume contest, there were open lands for people to set up tents — peasants, not to mention the stadium itself. There were so many places so many things could go wrong right.

Per usual, his thoughts were interrupted, “What?” was his only response.

regulus loved quidditch, it had been of the very few things that had brought joy during one of the darkest periods of his life. when he allowed himself to hope regulus had pictured himself playing quidditch all his life, he had been good, if not for his responsibilities as heir of the house of black he might have even made it as a professional quidditch player, but when had life ever given regulus anything he had wanted?

wishing he could be out there, camping with the rest of the fans, regulus settled for looking for a familiar face, he hated pureblood events, specially big international ones, because sure there were neutral purebloods, even those who opposed pureblood supremacy, but the great majority were —well exactly like the fellow death eater he had spotted, this one was family, regulus rolled his eyes and let out a sigh, it was better than nothing he guessed.

taking the seat next to rodolphus regulus lifted his arms to mock his surrender, ❝sorry❞ he said dryly, ❝you were the first familiar face i could spot❞ regulus knew honesty was the best policy when it came to rodolphus, he might not be regulus' favorite person but he could at least count on being well, himself, ❝i'll leave if you want me to, it's just, you know i don't do well with big crowds❞ regulus said with a shrug.

( andromeda ):

Andromeda was glad the first time Regulus reached out, after she left the family there was little hope that her former family would opt to contact her, she tried messaging everyone, however, she imagined either they didn’t want to contact her or the elders decided for them. Whatever the reason was, she decided to just focus on her kid and eventually people started coming back to her. Which made her happy.

And of course Dora love all the attention she got from the relatives, the new one and the old ones, which was amazing when Regulus accepted them and didn’t recoiled at her not being pure, but actually visited more.

Dora moved around trying to get sweets after sweets, and when she was squeezed between the strangers she did what was natural and took the hand of someone she trusted, she forgot that she shouldn’t be taking Regulus hand, but that is what she did.

“Is the Ministry making you work at the fair? Keeping civilians safe?” Andromeda tried teasing.

it had not been easy, the first time or rather times that regulus had met with andromeda, there was always that fear gnawing at him threatening to consume him, what if they know, what if they followed, what if in his need to keep andromeda close he had put her at risk. but with time it became bearable, not easy, never easy, regulus believed it would never be easy, not until they put an end to those that would haunt his cousin's husband and daughter, but it became manageable.

nobody would even consider the possibility of regulus black sitting in a muggle diner having breakfast for dinner, much less to be sitting across from andromeda black tonks, of walks at st. james with little dora insisting they play a game of tag, or adventures to the movie theater. which was why their meetings were safe, or as safe as they could be when their family was one of the most powerful in the wizarding world. nothing about it made sense, at least not for those who knew regulus, no one would believe he was the one to keep in contact with andy after she left, that he had met nymphadora, that he didn’t blame ted.

the presence of a small hand in his brought a smile to his face, regulus worried for a minute before deciding to allow himself this small moment, uncle reg, the fondness of that title, a sweetness he did not deserve but could not help but long for. ❝yes, and no❞ regulus said to andromeda, ❝it was more of mother's idea, you know show up, make some donations❞ the youngest member of house of black shrugged, ❝but yes my boss also insisted we ought to represent the department, so there was not much i could do but attend❞ a small smile, regulus was sure andromeda remembered how little he enjoyed such events. ❝you guys have been here long? what have you tried?❞

( narcissa ):

The gardens of the manor had been her home her whole life. Despite all the things ingrained within her about hosting duties and other things that eventually she would have to live up, Narcissa wasn’t a being that enjoyed larger and larger crowds in favor of the quiet and comfort of the familiar stepping stone paths of the park like area or the warmth of a homely fireplace. Yet, every now and then, especially with those the witch cared for, Narcissa was both enjoying and looking forward to the idea of spending time even when it came to festivals as busy as this.

“Not enough of an effort to enjoy yourself?” She chuckled. “Your mother clearly has a better idea of things.” When it came to the most recent conversations with Druella Black, all the blonde could recall were questions of just how long things would take before a decision would be made. Of course, none of those questions were actually directed toward her and much more toward those in charge of making a choice. “You should get it. It’s on me. Can’t have you say no. There’s no way I’d risk you missing out on something that could aid your enjoyment.” That, and she very much had a habit of spoiling her family when given the chance. Rarely ever happened, therefore the chance had to be taken when given.

Narcissa allowed their arms to be linked, nodding along to his words. “Well, we do work for the ministry after all. How could we not be supportive of it.” The witch wasn’t entirely blind to the implications and the reasoning behind wishing to support something that the world around them knew was a chaotic mess. “But it is rather nice to hear that you’d always have time for what I assume to be your favorite cousin.” There was no illusion over the fact that said statement was far from the truth, or perhaps it wasn’t. At the end of the day they were family so the answer wouldn’t matter either way.

“Will you be attending the firework show? I’m a little bit uncertain if I should. Can’t be nearly as impressive without the magic, can it?” Magic was superior, that much she believed without question.

regulus nodded at the silly notion ❝as if it wasn’t her fault in the first place, all that being proper, polite, and well behaved❞ regulus scoffed, ❝i don’t think i ever learned what it meant to have fun or enjoy oneself...❞ he let out a small laugh, narcissa was of course the only person regulus would ever dream about sharing his thoughts and opinions, and in some occasions maybe even his feelings. she was after all probably the only other person in the world who would understand what it meant to be them. sure bellatrix had stayed where sirius had left, but narcissa’s shoulders carried the same burden as regulus’. and well they both had andromeda’s decision to look at, whether a warning or a hope, that was perhaps the one thing they had kept from each other.

❝well if you insist...❞ regulus said with a smile, he liked hanging out with narcissa, for many still being seen as the little one of the family might be irritating, but to regulus it felt as if he could still hang onto the life —however fabricated and fake—that he once had. in narcissas’ eyes regulus was not the heir to the house of black, or a precious little death eater soldier who would never say no to the dark lord’s wishes, he was not a turn-cloak who had betrayed his family, nor a tool in dumbledore’s fight. for narcissa, regulus was regulus, and it was something he hoped would never change.

a small smile appeared on regulus’ face, narcissa was far too polite to say out loud anything that could be remotely considered rude, but their boss was a politician and the house of black never had any patience for politics. no their parents cared about power and knew far better than the politicians did not hold any real power, old names, money, that was real power, orion black would say. ❝well you know our boss, always taking pride on being the only department who doesn’t answer to... well anyone else...❞ regulus said shaking his head lightly.

❝i had not intended on staying long❞ regulus said with a small shrug, ❝but if you want to stay for the show i’ll be delighted to keep you company, i did hear people at the cafeteria making a big fuss about it, i guess i couldn’t hurt to watch why they were so excited about the display?❞

( sirius ):

Sirius saw meeting up with is brother in his actual human form an improvement, not that he minded being a dog for short times to spend time with his brother, but it meant he was making progress. The conversation telling his brother that the stray dog he had been caring for outside Grimmauld Place was interesting, that he had done it just to keep an eye on him and to spend some time with him even though he didn’t know it was him. It was sad what things had come to then. He had wanted to bring Regulus with him when he left, but he just wasn’t ready to go then. Even now, he pleaded with him to leave and move in with him, to get out of that horrible place. Or at least get a flat of his own, out from under their mothers reign of terror. He didn’t like thinking of him there with all that posion being spewed around him. In other ways he felt very proud, his brother was seeing his mission through, not taking the easy way out, as moving in with him would blow his cover, which was why he offered the second option.

The fact they were meeting up in muggle London was another step forward, it was somewhere a good pureblood wouldn’t be caught dead. And any that would see them would also have to explain just what they were doing here. He wished he had been the one to be able to introduce his brother to the muggle world, but the fact he fell into exploring it on his own spoke volumes. Plus there were surely places he had yet to go that they could still explore together, outside of the watchful eye of the purebloods.

He hadn’t immediately noticed his brother, his hair was longer, his face unshaven but underneath was still his baby brother who he had protected from his mother’s wrath. A smile appeared on his lips at the informal greeting and he waved a hand at the chips in front of him in offering. “Have at em’, anythings got to be better than that fancy stuff they serve at the house. Either bland or entirely disgusting, I’m not sure how you stomach it or manage to stay nourished,” he noted cocking his head to the side as if to assess his brother. Another somewhat veiled attempt to get him to leave.

never in a million years would regulus ever imagine sitting across from his brother as if nothing had happened. well maybe he could, he was after all well versed in denial and bottling up his feelings and emotions. he was also not just thinking about the years that they had spend apart, after regulus had refused to go with sirius and leave their parents reign of terror behind. no, what was tearing regulus apart were all the things he had done since taking the mark. sirius knew only but a fraction, and it terrified regulus what his brother would think if he knew what had become of him.

his brother who in regulus greatest hour of need had come to him, no questions asked when regulus refused to explain what had happened, his brother who upon looking at his cold, damp, shivering form, offered a shoulder for regulus to finally break down. they had that conversation later, much much later, when regulus realized he could not do it alone and reached out to dumbledore, and regulus finally told his brother about what had happened to him that night. sirius who had spent their childhood protecting regulus, what would he think if he learned regulus was a murderer? regulus was not a stranger to disappointing people, his family, his parents, but he was sure he would not survive the look of disappointment from his brother.

shoving all those thoughts away regulus selfishly allowed himself to enjoy the moment in front of him, returning to his what ifs, what if we didn’t grow up in a house that hurt us. regulus reached out for the tray, a smile before getting a mouthful, ❝you know i once asked kreacher to make me some, mum was... well she reacted as you would expect, i never asked again❞ he said with a shrug, regulus knew sirius was not fond of their house elf, but kreacher had always looked out for Regulus, like everyone in his life, he remembers being scared about the shouting matches in the hallway, usually having to do with Sirius, and how Kreacher would always bring him sweets or hot chocolate to help him calm down. ❝it’s good to see you brother, with everything going on i feel silly asking but i kind of want to know how’s work going for you...❞ what if all we had to worry about were our silly little muggle jobs and not our friends dying around us.

pureblood friends. regulus has yet to cut ties with them, not only on the just for show part, but deep down regulus still cares for them and wonders if his betrayal is revealed, would there be anything left of that friendship.

started with you. the one person that might have planted the idea that the other side was not what regulus had been led to believe.

shadow of a doubt. someone from the order who doesn’t trust regulus, would often point out that reg should not be trusted. (james potter)

fight together or die alone. someone from the order who actually trusts regulus, could even point out that they always knew regulus was not really loyal to the DE cause.

the only exception. regulus believes he doesn't deserve love or to be loved. this would be the one person regulus sees himself building a future with.

romantic ex. this would be someone regulus had a perfect relationship when at school, everything was going well, and then reg got the mark, so he ended things without an explanation.

Andromeda’s heart always skipped a panicked beat when Dora ran like that, they tried to raise their daughter to enjoy life, to make the best of it, but that also include chasing after her in big gatherings as the kid wanted to do everything at once.

She was glad she bumped into someone familiar, someone that she didn’t have to pretend to be the perfect mother she was certainly not. “My daughter keeps running away to get a glance at something, I feel she might get lost.” that was her worse fear, someone taking her child away.

She was about to apologise to Regulus and go find her daughter when Dora popped by her side. “Mum can I have some caramel apples, please?” she asked and then looked at Regulus and smiled, she was about to go hug her uncle Reg but she remembered that they shouldn’t do that with so many people around and she just frowned.

regulus had been so scared the first time he reached out to meet andromeda, it had been his first act of rebellion, he was worried she might think it was set up, that she would say that she didn’t want to see him again, that would’ve truly devastated him, or that somehow someone had figure out what he was doing and followed him endangering her. but things worked out, and from then on it became his saving grace.

spending time with andy and her family made him realize that even if he felt lonely he was not alone in the world. then it was of course nymphadora. regulus' relationship with his cousins had always felt more like that of siblings, so what if he thought of himself as uncle reg when it came to dora, it was nice to have something to fight for. andromeda had of course talked to dora about the complicated nature of their relationship with regulus. their safety regulus thought, was worth more than the heartbreak of not being able to hug her.

regulus offered a small smile and an apologetic head tilt to the little girl, turned to andromeda and said, ❝i was actually heading there, i heard the stand is very popular❞ the crowd around them offered some form of —well not protection, nor safety, more of blending into the background of the lives of those around them. ❝i think we can all walk towards that particular direction, support the event❞ he said with a tiny wink towards dora and a shrug for andromeda.

Each little moment, each little meeting with her cousin held that special place in her heart. As though two souls united that knew the other’s burden without ever being voiced out loud, the worrisome tale of wanting to live up to a bar set much higher than anyone could truly know while maintaining an image of ease and perfection. Despite wanting to live up to something, it only made the bond more special. While utterly oblivious to the darkness within her cousin’s life - the parts that went beyond the usual and well known borders - Narcissa only saw the joy and beauty within such a connection.

The sound of his voice alone brought a smile to her lips, a nod toward him as she slowly lowered the vial. “Believe it or not, mother would think me almost a bit over the line, but I’m having the most marvelous fun. I’m glad you’re here now! Have a look.” No time wasted as she held the vial out to Regulus, glad to be hearing his opinion on the matter. “Isn’t it the most helpful thing?” It certainly would help with the plants in the garden.

Obliviousness was bliss in that moment for without it she would have been entirely unable to feel as carefree as she dared to that very moment. Her heart was a mess, her mind racing with the worry for her sister and of course her very own future. She worried for Regulus all the same but it was a much calmer type of worry than it would be should she ever find out the reality of the life he was living; between two worlds entirely. “Shall we go see what all the other stalls have to offer? I would love to see them all, if you have the time?”

No matter the reasoning for the festival, Narcissa Black wasn’t fool enough to miss out on the special deals and celebrations. There was far too much to get out of it to let it go without so much as a glance. “Perhaps there’ll be time for a donation.” It was implied, without a word uttered, that whatever the donation would be for of course would be for a most noble cause. And nothing linked to anything reputation-endangering, clearly.

on his bad days regulus allowed himself to think about what ifs. sometimes is of course the obvious one, what if he had gone with his brother, other days he thinks about how life would be different if he had been born into a different family, and on the days when his mind won’t stop spinning he thinks about what would life be if he had been born without magic -not as a squib, just to a family blissfully unaware that magic exists. on those particular days guilt invades him and he ends up feeling worse.

would he really be able to turn his back on his family and leave them all behind? the answer is of course always no. he had a chance to do it more than once, and he had stayed. he had stayed —he realizes now— not out of duty to his family, to his parents, as he had made himself to believe, but out of love, for the cousins that are more sisters than what the universe could’ve given him, and the brother he wishes the universe will bring back to him, i am owed as much, regulus has only recently allowed himself to selfishly think that.

it is impossible not to smile at narcissa’s joyful tone, regulus was determined to allow himself this one joy. thinking better of a response regarding his aunt, regulus said to narcissa instead, ❝and my mother will say that i am not doing enough of an effort to enjoy myself.❞ with a soft smile regulus grabbed the vial narcissa handed him, ❝oh i do believe this will do wonders.❞

❝i’m always going to have time for you cissy❞ regulus genuine smile appeared for the first time that day, ❝come on❞ he said offering his arm to his cousin, he would be lying if he said he had not been pulling away from his cousins lately, not just cissy and bella, but his secret meetings with andy too. he cared to much to get them in trouble. sure bella was bella and they did some death eaters stuff together, but if he was found a traitor would they accuse her too? and narcissa, narcissa deserved better that the family around her. ❝of course we need to make a donation, the house of black has always supported the ministry❞ and if sarcasm dripped out of that sentence, well people should not forget that he did in fact grew up with sirius.

the fryer’s delight, muggle london regulus & sirius black (( @siriusdisaster ))

regulus hardly recognized the face staring back at him in the mirror, he really needed to shave, but given the fact that he was heading to muggle london it would probably help conceal his identity a little, sure anyone that cared about him being at muggle london would need to explain why were they there first, but he could never be too careful, if anyone suspected him, if anyone was tailing him, well he could not place cissy and bella in any danger. regulus grabbed his wand and with a simple motion charmed his hair. ❝kreacher i’m going out. if anything happens, you know what to do...❞

meeting at muggle london was a smart idea considering who he was meeting with. reconnecting with his brother had been, well not as easy as regulus would’ve wanted, but they were trying. there was so much damage left to undone, and regulus was barely allowing himself to believe he could have this one good thing. of course he was still carrying every single despicable thing he had done as a death eater —when he had let the angry and sad and dark part of him take control of his life — and the things he was still called upon to do to keep his cover. how could he ever look at his brother in the eye ever again?

with a small wave regulus approached sirius, one last look behind his back before he could relax, he had been watching his surroundings since he apparated at the nearest designated spot, and the walk to the chippy had been filled with turns and double backs, but the smallest mistake would cost them greatly. ❝okay i’ll admit it, i think i’m addicted to the food they serve at this place❞ regulus said foregoing any greeting.

Andromeda found that the events that the Ministry promoted were not exactly 100% reliable, there was a certain sense of distraction, pan et circus, if you will, and that left a sour taste in her mouth.

That being said, once Dora found out about the fair there was no way of not attending.

Dora was next to her mother, a treat in her hand, before some booth got her attention, and the child was running to it, Andromeda not far behind, "Dora, wait a minute!" she tried to get her daughter's attention and soon she was bumping to someone accidentally. "So sorry, my daughter..." she pointed and then turned back to try and catch Dora.

with a sigh regulus resigned himself to make the most out of his mandatory attendance to the fair, 'it will be good for the department if we are seen at the event' his boss had said, regulus was just relieved he had not been ordered to volunteer at one of the booths too. this he could manage, a fake smile since he had done since childhood, and pretended interest, he had literally being trained for it.

had he not been so lost in his thoughts he would've seen the approaching incident, granted, andromeda had barely bumped into him, but now he was left with no idea of how to react.

so much had happened in so little time. if regulus had felt like drowning weeks ago, now he was just constantly underwater, where at times he was allowed to resurface before being pulled down once again. it was hard to breath, to move, to even see at times. there was so much happening around him, so many emotions and feelings, and he just wanted to scream.

still he had to go on with his life, for the sake of those around him, the ones that loved him, the ones he loved. he smiled and made small talk, and continued with his life, the reminder of the things he had done and why his life seemed to be going off the deep end burning on his forearm. and then it was his betrayal, a secret that very few knew, and who he was coming closer and closer to breaking down and finally telling the one person he had wanted to tell since the start. but he would never do that to narcissa, he would never place her in danger, no matter how lost he felt. instead he put on a smile before approaching her, not a big smile, narcissa knew him better than he knew himself, but one that would not raise any concerns.

❝hey cissy❞ regulus greeted his cousin before taking a seat across from her, ❝you having fun?❞ he asked with a teasing tone, he knew he should’ve hugged her, maybe kiss the top of her head, but he could not help but feel as if he might suck out all her happiness, he felt like a black hole, like a dementor.
