Joel: Hmmm. I'm thinking I'm too lazy to get out of bed now.
Joel: And it's due time you drag me out of bed.

Alex: I knew as soon as I mentioned that you'd become a lazy bum.
Alex: Forget I said anything. Or I'll start sending you half naked selfies.
Alex: I've still got the drinks you bought in the fridge. ...Some of it. Anyway.
Joel: I can bring more. If I can get out of bed.

Alex: It's lonely here. Ideas?
Joel: I'm all for drinking.
Joel: Yes/No?
Alex: I've still got the drinks you bought in the fridge. ...Some of it. Anyway.

Dinner And A Movie
Joel picked out one of the bags of snacks and two beers from the fridge, standing in front of her when she said that. “True, but I went out that night too. You don’t know true fear until you’ve nearly been run over for a Furby,” he responded and kissed her cheek again. “You totally do. And you were totally destroying all the photos of my other girlfriends. I know how you are,” he joked and nuzzled his nose against her cheek. Truth was, he hadn’t had a steady since Sonya and perhaps that was a good thing.
He made a sound. “It’s Mean Girls isn’t it? When you say that, i know it’s Mean Girls.” He wagged his fingers at her as he started toward the living room. “And none for you, Alex Reid.”
She remained leaning against the counter, tapping her fingers on the wooden countertop. "Almost as bad as the year when Elmo was a popular one, that was worse than Furbies." Alex laughed and shrugged at the idea, would she do that? Probably, she couldn't lie. It was something she'd totally do and she wasn't exactly afraid to admit it. "Maybe once," she nodded before pausing for a second. "....Twice."
"How did you know?" she laughed as she watched him walk toward the living room. "Oh, Joel Goran I love your work!" she mocked, quoting the movie. She followed him in the living room and sat promptly on the leather couch.
Alex: My voice is gone. How can I go to work like this? :(
Alex: ugh.

Dinner And A Movie
Joel continued putting things away and snickered at her comment, shaking his head. “Yes, it should have, on any other night that wasn’t two days away from New Years Eve,” he teased her and gave her a tongue and cheek look. He pressed one hand against the counter and raised his brow at her secondary comment about his wallet. “Oh, so you have been going through my wallet, I knew it felt a little light this morning,” he teased her, leaning into the kiss. He turned his head to let his lips catch her jaw.
“But yes, I trust you picked a movie since I braved the harsh Torontoian climate for snacks and booze?” He pressed his lips against her cheek repeatedly in between words.
She continued her bright smile while he put everything away, it was nice to have someone else doing it that wasn't her. "Could've been worse. At least it wasn't the day before Christmas," she shrugged, laughing at him. "Obviously, because I totally need your money," scoffed Alex, a smirk remaining on her face. The kiss was soft, cute, and perfect to her. It was something small to top off the evening.
"I did pick a movie, I'm just not sure if you'll enjoy it. I've seen it three hundred times, but oh well. It's still great every single time I watch it."
Alex: I miss you.

Dinner And A Movie
Joel made a sound and started inside, carrying five bags, three in one hand and two in the other. “Uh — well, everyone else seemed to be out tonight also, I guess getting ready for New Years,” he responded. “And I had to go to three stores to get everything on your ridiculous list,” he teased her as he moved into the kitchen. He placed the bags up on the counter.
He pulled out the beers and put them in the fridge, smirking at her. “What? Oh, i also got condoms.” He said that with a straight face, even if he didn’t.
"Oh, that is right," noted Alex. New Years Eve was in a few days, people were probably sorting out their plans and planning for the parties that come with the holiday, it's not entirely uncommon. "My ridiculous list should've been just one store, thank you. It wasn't anything too out of the blue, even the alcohol should have been in one store. She followed him into the kitchen, leaning against the counter, loving watching him putting everything up on the counter for some reason.
"Yeah, because you didn't already have ten in your wallet before," she teased in return, leaning forward to kiss his cheek with a grin.

Alex was laughing at the last text as she opened the door, of course he was jealous. What was he even saying? She kept a smile on her face, continuing her laughter as she stood on the side, holding the door for him to bring in the stuff he bought. "You really did take a while though, I was starting to wonder if you made five or six side trips." As Joel walked in, she shut the door behind him, locking it quickly before following in behind him.
"So what did you end up getting? Everything on the list?"
Alex: So you've been looking at condoms for an hour?
Joel: Oh yes, I've been looking at the Magnums for an hour.
Joel: No, I've been in line for 30 minutes. I swear.
Joel: I'm on the way home now.
Alex: Somehow I don't believe you. ;)
Alex: You went out like an hour ago, what's taking so long? :P
Joel: You gave me a list of things to get.
Joel: Things that take time.
Joel: And did you know they sell condoms at grocery stores now?
Alex: So you've been looking at condoms for an hour?
Alex: It's so damn lonely tonight.
Joel: And it's not even a school night.
Alex: You went out like an hour ago, what's taking so long? :P
