Crimson splattered all over his shirt like spilled wine, the dreaded look on Alina’s face sent him lunging forward to catch her. Even then, their fall mimicked the gunshot that went off seconds before. Still, that didn’t stop Akaashi from only caring about them– it was always them. Right now, the prince couldn’t care less about the person holding the gun. He was sure he’d take care of that matter soon.

Shakily brushing Alina’s hair off of her face, Akaashi choked back a cry as he sighed her name. Emerald eyes melted into what looked like little gems that pattered against porcelain skin.

He leaned in, resting his forehead against hers. “Alina, please… Hang in there, yeah?” By this time, his tears and her tears blended into one river. If only a kiss could heal a million wounds, then so be it.

This is no fairy tale. This was reality.
