"Have you heard the news?!", Sue said to me; I stood there confused, "What news?".
"About Infinity Train?", she brought out her buddy and showed me an article.
The headline "INFINITY TRAIN LEAVING MAX MAY 24TH". I read further. The article described how Infinity Train, alongside other cartoon properties owned by WBD, are being written off for taxes. However, this means that they can't be distributed anymore. At least, unless you torrent them. "Isn't this illegal?", I asked. "Not in the States.", she responded, "Even if the animators are compensated, it's still a dick move on Zaslav's part."
"I mean, we still air it, right?", my tone was reassuring but nervous, "There's no way they're that evil to actually wipe it off the face of the earth."
Infinity Train was a regular show on Loco's schedule. It was shown at 5pm, an hour after I got off work. Susan was obsessed over it, "It's what keeps me going through the tough times." she always says. I wasn't a fan of that show, more interested in psychological thrillers and comedy. But I respected her that I let her have her moments. At one point, I had recorded an important episode on datacard. She didn't have anything to play it on, sadly, but she kept it as a token of respect.
"Why is it that people have to suffer because of Warner-Discovery's actions?", she exclaimed. I smirked, like a smug bastard. "Well, that's the problem with digital distribution, Sue. Some bastard could buy out your company and decide on a whim to just wipe it from existance." I took a swig from my energy drink. "And that's the problem with how things in the States are run. They say that they're socialist, but in my honest opinion, they're not. They are state capitalist. And furthermore..."
"Otto, you're going into a politically charged rant again." "Oh, right, sorry."
