TGCF fandom must be elated this year (2024), as not only is MXTX back after 5 years, we have a newly edited version of the novel that is back on the official JJWXC novel platform after being locked up for so long🥹 To add to the excitement, the two biggest names in the fandom, Kuo Hao Jun (radio drama project director who produced MDZS) and Chang Yang (official illustrator), both acknowledged by MXTX herself, are back and actively producing new works for the fandom😭 The radio drama will have 4 seasons (according to the producers themselves), and has just finished S2. The two seasons so far follow the edited novel to a T. Chang Yang is also drawing new fan art of the added scenes on an almost daily basis. It’s like opening your favourite book that you haven’t read in years and finding that all the old fans around you are doing the same😭😭😭

How about in 2024 we stop it with reading books with the goal in mind to finish the book so you can add it to your list of read books and start reading books slowly and intentionally with the goal to rip it into pieces with your mind and be touched by it and formed by it and changed by it

This. Reading should evoke comfort rather than feel like a chore. It’s okay to put down books you don’t enjoy, it’s okay to read up to chapter 3 then go back to reread certain sections that resonated without finishing the book. It also okay to stay up all night and finish a book in one sitting. Meeting a new book is like meeting a new person, you’re supposed to have a different relationship with each one.
