While they were mostly safe from the threat of the Garlean Empire, her people watched the red moon Dalamud fall from the sky from the safe distance of their ancestral home. After the Calamity she began to experience strange dreams until one day she felled compelled to leave her family and home behind to travel westwards. It would still take a few short years of her living in the Black Shroud until she would finally awaken to the Echo. Upon taking her first steps as an adventurer Imani would meet and befriend a young Miqoβte man, who greatly influenced her decision in joining the Immortal Flames. Initially her aptitude for wielding magicks was limited and even as a Red Mage she heavily relies on her rapier, generally preferring being up close to her enemies than attacking from afar. That only changed until after Imani obtained Azemβs constellation crystal, which not only granted her the summoning spell inside but increased her affinity for magick, especially that of the celestial bodies. To this day Imani misses her home and family, especially her younger sister back in the Jungle. Well aware that she would be treated as an outsider and thus not be permitted to enter the Viera territories, she wouldnβt dare go back there, yet it is one of her biggest wishes to see her younger sister again one day.
Jβmhazi Tia

His father, the late Nunh of the tribe, was a strong leader that secured a prosperous life for his family by following his predecessors example by engaging in active trade relationships with Ala Mhigo. Like other clan members before him, J'mhazi spent longer stretches of time in Rhalgr's Reach as a child, showing interest in the ways of the monks in his early years. When Dyr Abania got invaded by the Garlean Empire, his father was killed in a minor dispute over trade routes which left the tribe devastated. Despite a new Nunh stepping up, the Garlean occupation and the revocation of old trade agreements had the tribe slowly falling apart, splintering away into smaller groups. Despite witnessing the first and early stages of resistance during his training at the Reach, Jβmhazi never joined, instead he decided to leave his homeland for good upon reaching adulthood. Together with a few cousins, their journey eventually lead them to Ul'dah where soon each of them followed their own ideas of a free future. J'mhazi for his part started fighting at the Colosseum, first with his bare fists but then quickly adapting to the life of a gladiator by learning to wield a sword and shield. Eventually he acquired a considerable amount of fame and fortune and thus he was approached by the Immortal Flames and the Sultan Sworn both. In the end J'mhazi ended up becoming a free Paladin as well as ascending through the ranks of the Flames. One day, while securing the Copperbell Mines with a bunch of adventurers, he befriended a Viera woman, joining her on her adventures. Passing through Gridania regularly Rhaya befriended a Hyuran girl around the same age as her when the was still a young child. From this day on forward visits to the city became a source of excitement and joy and she started looking forward to each trip there. As Rhaya got older the family of the girl offered to take her in for a while, granting her the opportunity of some basic formal education. However as Rhaya got older she grew restless, longing to see more than the forests she grew up in and so one day she decided that there was more to her life than hunting around the Black Shroud. Having always had an overwhelming urge for freedom and independence her journey let her to the isle of Vylbrand and between the busy ports, traveling merchants and rough pirates she felt right at home for the time being, while also honing her skills in battle, now wielding an ax. When the busy streets of Limsa became boring as well, she tried her hand at being an adventurer, roaming around in search of new battles and exciting places. When Rhaya bit of more than she could chew in the caves of Sastasha, unexpected aid came to her in form of her old friend. Rhaya has neither aptitude nor patience for using magicks, so she sticks to combat forms that rely more on her weapons and physical body. While she had to sever the contract between herself and her former Reaper avatar, prompting her to pick up the arts of the Thavnairian Dancers, she is currently accompanied by a small succubus that joined her during her journeys in the Thirteenth, that she may one day pick up the scythe again.

This wish drove her to study diligently from a young age until she was welcomed at the Conjurer's Guild with open arms. However her life was not all study and learning; at a young age she met a Miqo'te girl about her age. While not native to Gridania, whenever these two met, Claira would be dragged into a new adventure together with her friend, slowly coming out of her shell. However her sheltered upbringing could not protect her from the grief that would befall her little family when her father was sent to Cartenau along with many other members of the Twin Adders. There he would meet his end, though whether by the hand of a Garlean soldier or by the seventh Umbral Calamaty was not known in the aftermath. Claira grieved her father deeply but his death also spurned her on to become an even better healer, to safe as many as she could to spare other families the same tragedy. When she learned that her dearest friend left the Shroud to explore more of the realm, Claira was sick with worries, fearing she might lose another loved one and so she packed her things and went after her on a journey to protect those she held dear. She possesses an enormous talent for White Magick, so much so that the very Elementals native to the Black Shroud smile upon her, granting her a blessing of protection.

From her early years on she loved to look at the various knick-knacks her parents hat acquired or restored and, following her ever inquisitive nature, she loved learning about their origins. As she grew older her passion for learning and natural curiosity sparked her dream to become a scholar of the famous Sharlayan Studium and at the age of 17 she was indeed granted access to the Sharlayan motherland and thus became an official pupil at the renowned Studium. Sadly this dream wasn't meant to last for long. As Calamity struck soon after, the worries about her parents became so strong she made the long journey home to make sure they were in good health. However upon her arrival she had to learn that her mother had fallen ill right after the Red Moon fell from the skies. Being torn between the love for her parents and her dream, Tatapi made the heart wrenching decision to stay, just in time for her mother to fall asleep one evening only to never wake up again. For a few moons she tried to keep the business in order together with her father before he too met an untimely demise after a short but devastating illness. Now, all alone with a struggling store, Tatapi was close to despairing when a wealthy merchant came along, claiming to be a friend and business partner of her late father. He offered to invest into her store, taking it under the wing of his own businesses if only she would agree to marrying him, to keep up her family tradition and shorten the amount of bureaucracy necessary of course. Feeling pressed to safe what remained of her parents legacy Tatapi agreed only to find herself being blamed for every inconvenience, every missing Gil, every possible misfortune the merchant could think of. As his business endeavors started to fail, Tatapi decided to leave the city to start earning additional Gil as an adventurer, starting in Limsa Lominsa. While she couldn't finish her studies she could at least delve into the arts of the Arcanists, paving the way for new fields of research later down the line. While her love for the ancient arts of Allag and Nym never wavered, upon entering Ishgard she came into possession of a Dark Knight Soul Crystal by accident. Staring into the abyss, this new power became a welcome source of strength, both mentally and physical.
Ryun Iteya
Race: Raen Au Ra

While he can't really remember a life before the Garlean invasion it took several years before his village too was targeted by the oppressors. As they tried to assure the compliance of the villagers panic spread and a riot ensued. In the chaos Ryun's parents were killed by an Imperial Pilus. The village that comprised of mostly farmers and craftsmen bowed to the will of their Imperial conquerors. In the following years Shinobi would come scour the mountain villages for people willing to fight for Doma and, not seeking vengeance but freedom, Ryun would join them. Under the guise of an aspiring artist wanting to learn the traditional arts of Doma he was brought into the city where he would eventually meet his new teacher and master, Gosetsu. In addition to keeping up his facade as a student of the arts he took every chance to hone his skills with the blade. During these times he would also meet a fierce Au Ri archer, only two summers younger than him. Once he got to know her better he learned that she originated from a neighbouring village that was almost razed to the ground. The few remaining survivors now either lived in Doma or served life in captivity. As the years went by this woman was to become his wife but it was never meant to be as the failed rebellion saw her killed in an attempt to lure a group of soldiers away from one of the castle gates. Before the rest of the rebels could meet their end he was tasked to gather as many people as possible and to flee the lands together with Yugiri. While she and her Shinobi were more proficient in covering larger areas while still remaining unseen, he was tasked with scouting ahead, securing a safe passage for the refugees. When they finally made land fall in Eorzea he decided to stay with the Scions for the time being, helping them in their endeavors as a payment for the succor they provided for the refugees. After the return from Ultima Thule Ryun begs his leave of his commitment to Doma and Lord Hien to be free to live in Eorzea with his loved ones. As he relinquishes his blade he returns home without a weapon, only to stumble upon the art of Pictomancy by pure accident.

Standing vigil until the end had come, the group ventured on only for Cedrikβs mentor to get severely wounded during a hunting excursion. And again, despite every attempt to treat the wounds, the inevitable happened. After a few days of intense fever his mentor died, succumbing to his infected wounds. For a few years Cedrik and his remaining friend would continue their lives together until finally his last friend passed away after a short but severe illness. Now Cedrik faced only two options: find a new mentor to teach him until he was ready to live his life in solitude or leave the frosty mountains to seek a new purpose somewhere else. Once she came of age she was given to a former Garlean ambassador as a bride; just like her mother before her she was made a political pawn. As tradition demands she had to serve her husband in a loyal manner, even accompanying him to Eorzea. While initially her situation didnβt change for the better that suddenly changed when the Castrum her husband was stationed at came under attack by a group known as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Once Yugiri arrived in Eorzea together with the Doman refugees, Yukinko was overjoyed to meet another Auri woman, which in turn took sympathy of the girl and began to teach her the art of her for-bearers. After the bloody banquet saw the Scions scattered she stayed behind with the Shinobi to clear the Warrior of Lightβs name. Upon returning to Kugane she was mortified to meet her father again but it would take until after the liberation of Ala Mhigo that she got captured by her familyβs minions. Back at her fathers house she finally learned the truth about her mothers death however this time she was far from being a helpless girl. Venturing deeper into the many rooms of the estate she stumbled upon some few hidden boxes containing belongings of her late mother. Among these Yukinko found an ornate comb containing a purple jewel, which turned out to be a Soul Crystal. Inheriting the skills and memories of her mother she unleashed a deadly storm of ice and fire upon her fathers estate, ending the lives of its inhabitants.
