Asugi had never realized how boring being in an army could be. When they weren’t traveling or fighting the days in camp seemed to blur together, barely finding anything to entertain himself these days. It was especially painful when they were nowhere near any towns so he was just stuck with the people in the army.
Desperate to find something to entertain himself with the ninja found himself seeking out his little cousin, Midori, knowing the two of them could probably get into some trouble together. Did he sometimes abuse her cute face to get them out of trouble after he got them into it? Yes. But that didn’t mean that it was the only reason he picked her out of anyone to be an accomplice. He did actually enjoy spending time with her.
“Hey.” he called when he finally found her, jogging over. “You doing anything right now?”
✿ “Dum dee dum dee dum~”
✿ Midori’s tiny little legs marched around camp happily. Unlike some of the others, Midori appreciated the quiet days in camp. She didn’t get to fight a lot because of her Dad, so she was stuck with making medicine back at camp. Camp was full of interesting people, well, interesting to her. You had your Nohrians, your Hoshidans, your shapeshifters... Heck, Rhajat once tried to recruit a Faceless as a pet.
✿ And then there was Asugi.
✿ Asugi was Midori’s cousin, and son of Uncle Saizo the lame Fifth. Uncle Saizo was kinda scary, but Asugi was nothing like him. Asugi was more amusing and he liked candy for one. He never liked sharing his candy though...
✿ Midori squeaked gently as her cousins voice broke her out of thought. “O-oh! Hi Asugi! No, I’m not doing anything right now, why?”
✿ Oops. Midori should really work on that stutter.
✿ "W-well..." Midori's voice trailed off and she looked away. Midori loved her Uncle very much, but he was kinda scary. "He, um.. He asked me to go find some poppy seeds and daffodils! Thats it!" Midori struck a simple 'I'm totally telling the truth and not lying to your scary face' pose.

At the voice Saizo stopped in place and turned to face the small child. It was a rare sight to see him not immediately rude to almost everyone, but when it came to his niece something in him was different.
“Midori? Shouldn’t you be with your father right about now? Is everything okay?”
✿ “Hi Uncle Saizo!” Midori stared up at the Ninja eagerly. She was quite tiny compared to him. She was the smallest out of their family, but it wasn’t that bad.
✿ “Um... Everything’s fine! Don’t worry!” Midori was also a bad liar. “Dad just sent me to go find some herbs!”
✿ “Hup! 1, 2, 3, 4! Hup! 1, 2, 3, 4! Hup! 1, 2, 3, 4...”
✿ Midori happily marched through the woods, clutching her bow. “Dad’s gonna be sooo impressed with me!” Well... He wouldn’t be impressed with the fact that Midori sneaked out of camp in the wee hours of the morning.. But whatever! “Midori’s on a mission!” She sung.
✿ There was a rumor going around the town they stopped in earlier that a large bear was terrorizing the area. Trees had been found toppled over, carcasses of dead animals everywhere. The thing is though, no one had seen the bear. That of course, intrigued Midori. Imagine how much praise she would get for taking it down!
✿ “Hm... Dad should be getting up around now.. I better hurry!” She giggled and quickened her pace.
✿ Poor Midori did not like Nohr at all. It was dark, gross, and ominous. The fact that she was Hoshidan didn’t help. Nohrians gave her disgusted looks and the children would tug on her pigtails. But it wasn’t all bad, her Father was with her.
✿ Yet a part of her wishes her Father never went along with Corrin. And now, she understood why she was placed into the Deep Realms. For protection against the Faceless, and protection against most Nohrians.
✿ However, Midori was determined to show the Nohrians that Hoshidans weren’t bad at all! And that would be done by making friends.
✿ Midori slowly approached the Mercenary. Her stance was much like her Fathers, yet shaky and quite obvious.
✿ “U-um!” She squeaked out. “I like your pigtails Ma’am!” Compliments usually worked in making friends, right?

✿ Midori was... Very immature to say the least.
✿ Growing up in the deep realms probably had something to do with it. Time moved faster, children grew into adults, the seasons past by quickly... Her caretakers didn’t help either. They played with her, indulged in her childish fantasies, encouraged her medical studies. But there was one thing that was ingrained into her...
✿ Midori must never swear, ever.
✿ She abide by the rule to the best of her abilities, never saying anything that would remotely resemble a swear. But that soon began to change when Midori joined the army. People were swearing left and right!
✿ Soon, Midori began to track her companions swears in a little notebook. Some were very... Unique. The only problem with her book is that it gave her the strong urge to swear. Something no potion could heal...
✿ And so, Midori hid herself in the crevices of the currently empty mess hall and took out her book...
✿ “Sh...Shit..?” She giggled in amusement.
✿ “If I reclass into a ninja like Dad, will I get ninja tiddies to?”
//omg already with the amazing interactions. Come let uncle Saizo love you
✿ “Let’s get rid of Asugi and make me supreme!”
