Hi everyone!
ClanHeart has an entirely new team! We’re currently familiarizing ourselves with the site, and we hope to have it back on track soon! We’re working through some server trouble right now, but once that’s resolved testing will be back on track. For now, we’ve got some markings to spoil:

it had once given me so much inspiration when it came to art and writing and simply engaging with the community that it’s sad to see it not be what it used to be anymore
I hesitate to say it’s dead. The last art update only came out 4 months ago, so I’m still holding onto hope. D:
me too! but regardless of what happens, my characters (and subspecies) will still thrive! :D

We are so excited to announce the winner of our contest! The color wheel that calicoclan submitted and you voted for is going to make an excellent color wheel for the game.
We will be implementing the color wheel along with the new bases as they are completed. A couple of them are done now, and we are in the process of hiring our new marking artist.

The first edition of the ultimate lore questions. Nowhere near finished, and I’ll continue working on it throughout the day, but WBW seems like a great time to let you all in on a sneak peak.

A few questions for you guys lurking in the tag:
What kind of physical gestures does your clan use to communicate?
Tell me about magic. How does it work? Is it classified? How? Are there certain characteristics of certain magics? Are there common kinds that everyone can learn? Is magic learned or are certain creatures just born with it?
Challenge: Building Culture
Invent a new type of food! Remember to make sure it uses only/primarily the resources normally available to your clan!
Make some new words? Say… 3? Tell us what they mean, and how to pronounce them!
Symbols! Figure out at least one symbol and its meaning! For example, go design a clan crest! Or a personal one for your alpha! Maybe a sigil used in writing or spellcasting? Or something very simple, like a color and/or shape to indicate friendliness!
There is a lot of negativity in the tag right now. My challenge to all of you is to drown it out with lore and fun!
So here’s some lore questions, feel free to make a separate post with them. Don’t forget to tag it.
The alpha has gone missing! What’s the clans plan of action?
A sickness is spreading through the clan. Who’s in charge of helping everyone? What’s the plan to stop the spread of the disease?
What does the clan value most? Is this value derived from usefulness, tradition, religion, or just habit?
Post some lore, or some questions. Need some help? I’m more than happy to ask more questions or give ideas.

My entry to the colour wheel competition is finally done! I ended up nearly doubling the number of colours since my last post. Thanks to my brother @navodile for helping out with the names! Any obscure gemstones you find in there are his fault, haha.

ARTWORK UPDATE
Chutkat has generously decided to share with you a video of her work on the Shaman Cat base, and with it comes an update as to how the revamped art is progressing.
All creatures are in the line art stage right now. The sketches were finalized and reviewed by a second artist successfully. Soon, we will have one of the wolf bases completed so we can hire a marking artist to complete the markings on all bases.
When that time comes, we will make a post with a link to the new wolf base’s PSD file for any artists interested in trying out for the marking artist position. Unfortunately, the marking artist that we had lined up prior does not have time to work on markings anymore, so we will be looking for someone new that compliments Chutkat’s style well.
If you recall, with this revamp, all species will have a dynamic part. In this video you can see a preview of the cat clan’s dynamic feature: extra fluff! Your cats can look super regal with all of that fur, or you can play them as a cat normally looks by turning off the dynamic feature in your clan mates.

I… may have gone a little, itty bit overboard. There are, currently, 522 colours.
Honestly, I could have done more. I also should have done less, but Clanheart said this was a competition for our dream wheels and also

I am starting the process of naming them, and then I’m going to be organising the sub-wheels and such.
