if you're wearing nice clothes

it was a common thing that the demon slayers had gatherings once in a while to talk and catch up about their lives. it was also common for them to bring their significant others for some company, —uzui was always the spotlight of the gathering with his numerous wives— and because of that you were a recurrent attendant.

as rengoku's partner, you always tried to make something in your outfit similar to his. this year, you decided to wear a haori inspired on his design. you kept it as a secret until the very night. it was black and in the ends of the robe there was a gradient red. some cherry blossoms were embroidered by you on the sleeves as little details.

watching yourself in the mirror, you smiled at the image it reflected. while fixing some strands of your hair, you heard a gentle knock on the door.

"come in!" you said smiling, imagining his reaction.

and it didn't came near as you imagined. his eyes opened widely and his smile faltered a second before turning into a wide toothy grin.

"GORGEOUS." his voice was loud and clear enough, you were sure the people next door listened to him.

"do you like it?" you asked twirling a little letting your haori move freely on your body.

"you look..." he breathed deeply. "SO CUTE. PRETTY!" he was excited and that was an understatement. his voice always became loud when he was excited. people were used to listen when he was eating, his voice going "DELICIOUS" at every bite. you thought it was extremely cute.

"thanks, love!" you replied giggling a little. he took your hand on his and made you spin in your spot. his eyes only expressed adoration towards you.

catching you by the waist, he took you closer to his body and kissed your forehead lovingly. "let's go!"
