How long would it take for one person alone to make an animatic episode? I feel like making a pilot episode of a idea I have but im not sure how realistic that would be for one person to do alone.

But i love your work tho i cant wait for episode 3!

Depends on how polished you want it how long you want it to be and what you mean by "alone".

I did boards by myself and that took me about 2 months (working anywhere between 4-8 hours every day with about a two week break). My boards are pretty tight and I have a lot more poses than a normal storyboard might usually have.

Animatic took about two weeks but I work with a professional animatic editor. She and I are both pretty particular about editing which is why it went as long as it did. She was able to get a rough build done in a couple days but to get it just right we went back and forth for a couple weeks (also gave me time to do acting passes to the VAs). You could also probably edit something in a few days depending on how tight you want it.

Voice acting, again, if you're doing it alone, could take like an afternoon. But if you're recording people it could take anywhere from a day to a month to get everything depending on everyone's schedules. Then there's also pickups to consider.

Music and sound design is another aspect to consider and that's mostly up to how well you're able to do it on your own.

So yeah, super depends on what you want from the animatic. If you really just want the rough idea and have really loose boards with scratch and minimal composing/sound, you could probably knock out an animatic in like a week or two. But if there's a specific level of polish you want it could take anywhere from a few months to a year. I'm not sure what your prior experience is with this kind of thing so that's something to think about as well~
