✦ WINNIX // “Here, There and Everywhere” ‐ The Beatles.
I can’t let him go by himself, he doesn’t know where it is.
Typical Winnix conversation
(Original image)
Idk why it just occurred to me that Grace might be referring Dick's son Richard here in "Lewis has talked so much about Dick". Dick's son's full name is Richard T. Winters, so Richard Winters III his nickname is also Dick.
Via here
At first I thought Grace was referring to our Major Dick and I was wondering they hadn't met until 1983??? but from the context it didn't make sense so I went to look up Dick's son's name, my bad I never paid attention to his name before.
So the most important thing is Nix has talked a lot about Dick's son??? When Richard was born Dick was still working for Nixon Nitration so Nix must have known him from then, I wonder who is your godfather Richard...
Overthinking again....
✦ WINNIX // “Home in the Meadow” ‐ Debbie Reynolds.
“My friend, Lew, died in 1995. I took up his job offer and was a personnel manager at the Nixon nitration works until I was called back into service in 1950 to train officers and rangers... I chose not to go to Korea. I’d had enough of war. I stayed around Hershey, Pennsylvania, finally finding a little farm. A little peaceful corner of the world...”
Here Nix is so worried Dick might lose it in front of Sink just look at him!!
The whole interaction here Dick didn't say a word because he is so angry about the second patrol and Nix answered for him
OMG Winters is jealous of Janovec.
secret operation at night
I know men were different back then, but this news honestly hit me hard. I'm so disappointed Buck.
Lewis Nixon III, you were raised better than to sit the way you do.

WINNIX: in real life, on-screen, and in fandom
"Dad has this record of "People Will Say We're in Love." Reminds me of a couple I once knew, so there's that tricky smile on my lips and a wee bit of twinkle in my eye as I listen." — Dick Winters in a letter to DeEtta Almon
this video could not have been made without yna @evidenceof: i compiled all your wonderful posts, but every single historical photograph, letter, quote, and transcript you see (including the one above!) was scanned or collected by her. thank you for everything, and for providing inspiration and motivation to work on such an ambitious project!

sneak peak…winnix as cats (band of cats pt.1)
A photo of Kitty Grogan in her wedding dress. Harry Welsh carried his reserve chute throughout the Normandy campaign so that he could send it home so Kitty could use it for her wedding dress. They were married for 29 years until his death in 1995
Dick Winters would never accept this from anyone without hating them forever and ever, but Lewis Nixon comes to 'work' and says this and Dick's got a new fond memory of his philanthropist boyfriend who single handedly changes lives in Nixon, NJ by not taking work away from the needy.
Looked at me over his shoulder and smiled.
SWOON. What a gentleman.
Interviewer: ???
Dick: I SAID he was a perfect gentleman.
There is something wrong with him.
Two more from the Hershey History Museum display.
