@fireandfreedomandfaith requested for a starter!!
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; There’s no time. The words kept repeated endlessly, almost to the extent that it was unbearable, but it was what pushed the Dual type onward on its search. Uncharacteristically frantic, sporadic movements were made as he scrutinized his surroundings, searching for some sort of semblance that there was someone. Someone that would be able to do much more than the Pokemon could, someone who knew what to do. And with each passing moment that he was not able to find a person, that sinking feeling of dread only intensified further.
Reckless. Jacqueline was hardly one to be called reckless, but this was certainly one of those moments where she was. Her tendency to be unable to leave the weak and wounded alone was something he knew so very well, but for her to go so far...! All Dragalge knew of the situation, was that the Elite had been poisoned by a Venipede she had tended to ( that ungrateful whelp ) and he had been too late to stop it. Chasing off said Venipede was useless when she was weakly sat on the ground with a meek smile on her face.
Finally, he heard something. A nearby trainer, someone that could finally help her. He hardly has any semblance of manners as he beckoned over at seemingly nothing-- only for a Gengar to appear and lift said trainer into his arms. It would certainly seem bizarre and potentially frightening to the person, but hopefully they would be decent enough of a person to understand the severity of the situation and their need to rush.
What would meet this stranger’s eyes would be the sight of a girl slumped against the tree, lidded eyes coupled with an expression that anyone could tell was of suffering. Dragalge rushed back to her side, while Gengar gently landed the trainer, before the two Pokemon gazed at their only hope with pleading eyes.

she’d be sure to spoil him later, the incineroar having definitely done more than enough to deserve a steak– or maybe an extra amount of scritching later. he’d have his pick, but something told alice that he would likely be ending up with BOTH the extra affection and the cooked meat. it’s when the elite speaks that both the idol and her partner curiously glance over, the former even going as far as to cock her head and raise a finger to her lips. hmm ? her carelessness ? ❝ i’m sorry ? your… ? if anything, i should also be apologizing, as i had compromised your preferred method of escaping. i also should of paid better attention to the fact that there were photographers and the sort around. normally i am better at noticing them, but i guess that just isn’t the case today. please though, don’t thank us ! they– the paparazzi, can sneak up on anyone, they really can. ❞ those plump lips of hers are quickly pursing, alice easily noticing the way that jacqueline’s expression portrayed guilt, and maybe even a hint of exhaustion ? her jaw opens to speak, but then she quickly closes it and instead flashes a warm smile, the idol not wanting to pry into the elite’s business. ❝ o-oh ! yes, that’s me. i pardon my lack of social mannerisms, i would have introduced myself earlier were we not so rudely interrupted by those men. i know you, though ! you’re jacqueline florence, the poison type specialist of the elite four. sorry if that seemed a little creepy of me to automatically know you, my boyfriend has mentioned the league before, and i have tried to memorize individuals that are apart of it since moving here. ❞ the idol turns some to face the gengar wholly, her body shifting some in a bow. ❝ yes, thank you so much for helping us to get out of that bind, gengar ! i don’t know what churro and i would’ve done had you not been around. i thank you as well– may i…. perchance treat you to lunch as a thanks ? i know a place here that won’t allow the cameras and such inside, and they’re very good at catching individuals who try to sneak in. ❞
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; Kind words from the idol helped ease some of the guilt that she felt, though the expression remained-- regardless of what the other thought, she ought to have been more careful. Perhaps it was simply a standard that she had set for herself, something that had only crept up upon her having made such a mistake. It was relieving that at the very least, the person that she had caused trouble for was so kind and forgiving, even to the extent of empathizing with her plight. The elite was rather grateful to say the least, keeping in mind that she ought to give thanks to the other in some way or another in the near future. Perhaps an invitation of sorts to... somewhere? It was certainly something that she could think through properly and propose to Alice at some point.
Confirmation from the idol that she was, indeed, Alice Antonescu elicited an immediate smile from Jacqueline, followed by the shake of her head to both of what Alice had said. “ Oh no, even I had not introduce myself at that time. In any case, I hardly think that it would have been appropriate to do so in such a situation. ” A soft laugh escaped her lips following her words, before she continued to address Alice’s concerns of seeming... ‘creepy’? Quite definitely the furthest thing that she would associate this kind soul with, to say the least. “ If anything, I’m flattered that you know of me. It’s certainly nice to know that someone of your status has taken care to pay attention to those of us in the league. ”
Alice’s word of thanks to Gengar resulted in him seeming rather pleased with himself, glancing over to Jacqueline upon hearing Alice’s offer. To which, the Elite smiled and nodded in agreement before speaking. “ That sounds like a wonderful idea! Please, it would be quite a relief to go somewhere where I can enjoy some tea in peace..! Though, I think Gengar would prefer to wander around the city some more. That would be more of a reward for him, so I will have to be his representative. ” With that, the Ghost type disappeared once more... only for him to appear briefly one final time, her expression turning into one of uncertainty upon his brief appearance, seeming as though he had been able to convey something in that split second of a moment. “ Though, um... how exactly are we going to traverse there? I imagine they’ll be on high alert seeing that they noticed us both in the same vicinity. ”

〈 ☲ 〉- the lady’s cutting words - a warning - though considered polite still sent a cold shiver down his spine, and he instinctively shifted his shoulders inwards to make himself seem non-threatening. the mysterious, yet intense energy that he sensed from her was familiar and he withdrew to accommodate her cautiousness. in the heavy silence that followed, William thought to excuse himself as quickly as possible, completely flustered at the jarring encounter with a bold, beautiful lady.
before he could open his mouth, the lady’s next words halted his actions and he shook his head in relief- the implication that she was intruding his business was absurd; he was the one who was too clumsy to notice her and William never shunned those who crossed his paths.
〈 “Require? I don’t believe so, there’s no need to help someone such as I.” 〉 his gaze fell along with the trailing tone of his voice- it was best to retreat for now- only to perk up when he finally noticed the Salazzle he had been trailing after. curious, yet cautious eyes shifted from the pokemon to the other’s unreadable face, and William bit his lips wondering if he should dare push his luck.
〈 “Oh! That pokemon,” 〉 he began with a soft smile and a slight tilt to his head, a shy habit he never fixed as a child. it was easy to connect the dots, from the confident stance the lizard pokemon held herself next to her trainer. 〈 “She’s beautiful.” 〉
〈 “I must have startled her, I apologize for imposing so carelessly. When I see a pokemon I’ve never seen before, I find myself too curious to let them simply run past without studying them up close. It’s…within my line of work to interact and learn all there is to know about pokemon. Does she have a name?” 〉
he paused and covered his an sudden gasp at his audacious behavior.
〈 “How rude of me! Please, forgive both times I’ve been a nuisance. My own name is William and it’s an honor to meet you.” 〉
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; Those familiar with the Elite would certainly find it strange for her to act as such, even if it was a stranger in her midst. Perhaps some may have even considered the way she treated everyone equally, whether they be of a respectable background or a questionable one, to be a sign of ignorance. Their intent was what mattered most to her ultimately, and if people were to call her ignorant for doing as such, so be it. There was some sort of intent present in the person before her, though she could not quite tell if it was any sort of malicious intent.. she remained vigilant in her observance regardless. His response was followed by the slightest change of tone and his gaze settled upon Salazzle, features lighting up upon noticing the Pokemon’s presence-- all of which did not escape her notice, her gaze that remained upon him.
Salazzle could not help but to shift nervously upon the stranger regarding it, a soft hiss emerging from said Pokemon while Jacqueline seemed to not have any sort of response to his words. Instead, she absently stroked the top of Salazzle's head in an attempt to soothe her, to which hissing eventually dissipated into silence and her eyes closed, contented. It was rather uncharacteristic of the Elite to remain silent for such a long time, but she chose to let the stranger speak and not respond until he had finished completely, seeing that perhaps she could gather some sort of idea as to what exactly his exact intent was from his words. And upon his stating his occupation and giving a vague inclination of what his intent was, her expression that had remained unchanged throughout shifted into a somewhat gentler one.
Both trainer and Pokemon were nonetheless, still on guard but the fact that she had some information from this stranger-- William, as he had introduced himself as, gave her some comfort. “ You certainly did. Do be more careful next time, there are some trainers that don’t take lightly to their Pokemon looking so... uneasy. ” Words that seemed meaningful, yet held a hint of a threat within them were spoken, though if they were intentionally worded as such was uncertain. Finally, a smile of sorts graced her features, one that was shown out of sheer politeness but seemed natural regardless, as she gave her own introduction in return. “ I simply call her by Salazzle. As for myself, my name is Jacqueline. You mentioned your line of work being somewhat like research? What sort of work you do, William?

〈 ☲ 〉- this should’ve been a lowly job left to a grunt but he couldn’t deny hid the freeing excitement of stepping out into a world beyond what he’d known. he found persuading the assigned grunt to take the day off the easiest task but traversing a new city sounded daunting…but the lure of new sights was too strong to resist.
the scale of Norite city threatened to overwhelm William with its sights, sounds, and the large population of people and pokemon- but, it was the perfect environment to scout out the speciem he needed. hectic enough for a pokemon to go missing and not be noticed for hours.
〈 gather poison from a rare poison type pokemon. a simple task 〉 , he thought as he fixed his glasses. the only problem was where to start. a voice yelled at his stupidity and to return back to base, and he almost did out of shame.
it wasn’t until his train of thought was broken at the sight of a pokemon he had never seen before, and William had worked with all kinds native to Agron, that his first genuine smile made it’s appearance. he had to figure out who’s that pokemon and if there was a chance…it could be the next experiment topic.
the salazzle zipped away before William could react and he gasped at the speed of the pokemon. with a hurried pace, he clutched his bag and followed- only to turn the corner and see, a women? no, a queen? did kingdoms still exist outside of his knowledge?
〈 “ah- pardon my uncoordinated appearance.” 〉 he offered a slight bow and tucked long hair behind his ear an attempt to groom himself.
☲ @remedii
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; Norite City, being the city closest to the Pokemon League ought to be a location she frequented, but it was hardly the case. Her preference of the southern section of Agron, Esha put aside, she simply found said city to be the most crowded of all places in Asta, both in terms of people and the tall buildings that were all around. But there were still times when the convenience of its short distance away proved useful, times where a simple errand of the shopping kind needed to be run-- being picky would simply make it more tedious. The rare of ocassion of Salazzle choosing to be by her side, outside of her own pokeball did help ease the crowded nature of city, along with carefully chosen alleyways to avoid the crowds.
There was a brief moment where her Pokemon was trailing behind while they traversed through the alleyways, when she sensed a gaze on her, one that felt... unsettling. It was enough to make her rush back to the Elite, discomforted yet alert of the fact that there was someone watching. For Salazzle to make such a hasty retreat back to her side... it was enough to put her on guard, a certain Ghost type lingering amidst the shadows of a nearby alleyway ready to heed her call. The eventual arrival of the culprit would have been followed by either a stern questioning or words of suspicions, but any sort of verbal response died down in face of the stranger’s own words.
She was... confused, to say the least. Uncoordinated appearance? In regards of what, exactly? The bow that followed his words only further added to her confusion, but it would be rather rude of her to stay silent for such a prolonged amount of time, a natural response seeming to be the better option. “ Not at all. ” Curt, but certainly better than nothing. Curiosity eventually got the better of her and she finally verbalized the recurring thought in her mind, an inquisitive expression donned upon her features as she spoke. “ I do apologize if this may seem forward, but... is there something you require of me? ” Words were carefully chosen to direct the focus towards herself rather than her Salazzle, her guard still remaining up in regards of what this person’s intentions were, especially if directed towards her Pokemon.
kiaidame:
“Raise your head high!” With the projection of her voice, her words reverberate across the arena. Under the spotlight, she and the challenger are the center of attention. A flame blazes in her eyes as she regards the challenger with pride. “No matter how difficult your journey may become, do not waver! Grow stronger and,” her smiles softens “enjoy your journey until the very end!” She nods her head when the challenger, clutching their Combat Badge tightly, responds with a loud “Okay!” and dashes out of the arena with a light in their eyes.
She’s been the gym leader of Mimosa Port for a week now. Her arrival, according to her gym trainers, has immensely improved the gym’s original state. Trainers, like the last challenger, leave the gym with the determination to grow stronger even if they couldn’t beat Lucia because she sees them off with inspiring words. Lucia believes it’s actually much more than just words that’s sparking a flame within the challengers.
“What new trainers need is someone to believe in them. If someone wholeheartedly believes you can improve, don’t you just think ‘yeah, I can definitely do it’?”.
It’s a simple way of thinking, but it still left some of her gym trainers pondering over the meaning of her words when she said them yesterday. She steps out of the gym and stretches. She’s sure they’ll understand exactly what she means eventually. She walks away from the gym with a bag in her hand. Even if a week has passed, the gym trainers and the citizens here are still so surprised when they see her wearing something that isn’t her flashy outfit. She’s almost unrecognizable, or so she’s heard, but her spirit’s the same no matter how she looks.
She wanders outside of the city and heads towards the forest. There’s something soothing about being in Basalt Forest. It reminds her of Alola. It gives her the chance to relax. Which is why she doesn’t expect to see one of the Elite Four Members in the forest. There’s no mistaking it, the woman heading in her direction, heading towards Mimosa Port for crying out loud, must be one of the Elite! She’s always looked forward to meeting the Elite before. Though she had hoped they would have met in a Pokemon battle, she has no intention of missing the opportunity to speak with the other.
“Hey! Hey, hey, hey hey!” She jogs towards the woman with a sparkle in her eye. “You’re–! You’re one of the Elite Four, right?! It’s nice to–” She gasps. “Agh geez! I wish I didn’t change! …Ah, I can’t believe this sorta timing…!” In frustration, she shuts her eyes and clenches her first in front of her. She lets out a deep breathe. “Well, it can’t be helped! It’s seriously a pleasure to meet ‘cha! I’m the new gym leader of Mimosa Port! They call me the Iron Fist of Light and that of course makes me” she grins, “a fighting type specialist!” She laughs sheepishly.
“…Though I guess with the way I look now, I don’t really leave that sort of impression.”
@remedii
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; What immediately responded to the Gym Leader’s words would be the soft rustlings of the bushes, to which one would be able to see a pair of eyes hidden amidst the shadows staring back at them if they were to pay close attention. Said rustling was what aided Jacqueline in shifting her attention over-- the consecutive ‘hey’s could have not been for her after all, being that she was not the only person in Basalt Forest. Needless to say, having someone jog up to her while speaking in such an enthusiastic manner was certainly not something she had expected, most trainers that spotted her choosing to keep their distance instead. Those that did approach were usually not of the pleasant kind, be it an unruly trainer or even worse, a member of the media. Distasteful company, to put it simply.
Which was why it would be to no surprise that the Elite would have seemed wary and relatively guarded initially, her expression would relax upon proper identification of the person in her midst. A Gym Leader, as confirmed from the introduction that came soon after, granting her the knowledge that this person was specifically the Mimosa Port Gym Leader. “ Oh no, that’s not true at all. Having an impression based on how you look alone would be rather superficial. The way you greeted me has certainly left quite an impression on me, more so than any sort of appearance would have. ”
She seemed contemplative after having said as such, the following words spoken in a softer tone as though they were simply her thoughts verbalized. “ Though, I would suppose an outrageous outfit or appearance of sorts would leave quite an impression. A surface one, but one nonetheless... ” That particular train of thought was put to an end as she recalled a certain Pokemon of hers still amidst the bushes, still on guard due to the arrival of unexpected company. All that was given was a nod from the Elite, more rustling heard before her Roserade emerged from the bushes with an assortment of berries in her hands, returning to Jacqueline’s side before giving the Gym Leader a nod as well.
Her attention was momentarily shifted over to the Pokemon, followed by an inquiry that lacked any sort of context but was still easily understood between herself and Roserade. “ You’re done for now? ” A nod was given was again, though this time in response to the Elite’s question, causing a soft smile to tug at her lips as she brought her gaze back up to the Gym Leader, speaking once more. “ I was on my way to Mimosa Port to take a rest there after making a trip here... Roserade wanted to see if there were any Berry trees that needed tending to. But I digress, I am a member of the Elite Four-- Jacqueline Florence, I specialise in Poison types. It’s a pleasant surprise to have chanced upon the Gym Leader of Mimosa Port here, and a pleasure to meet you... I’m afraid I didn’t get your name yet? ”

“What?”
The suggestion wasn’t expected. In fact, Priscilla planned to leave the other girl to tend to the Herdier alone. After all, she didn’t appear to be needed for anything else, not to mention that the idea of a Team Evolution member hanging around someone from the Elite Four didn’t sound too appealing.
She stood there for a moment longer before reluctantly stepping forward. Priscilla could decline - say that she had things to do, but it would make little sense considering she had already put a lot of effort into helping the injured Pokemon.
So, finally, she swallowed her pride and took the offered berries. Herdier still appeared to be pretty wary of her, but the offer of berries appeared to calm him to a point where their rough interaction earlier could be overlooked. With her hand outstretched, berries in her palm, Herdier began to eat.
“I’d act now if you want to get anything done while he’s distracted.”
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; She wondered if the suggestion was a poorly made one-- who was to say what sort of circumstances had lead to them happening upon the Herdier? Yet, her hand remained, as though she were patiently waiting for any sort of response past the initial ‘ What? ’. Eventually, approaching footsteps were followed by the retrieval of the berries in her hand, eliciting a smile from the Elite as she brought her now empty hand to her side. Rather than watching the other feed the Herdier, Jacqueline had already brought her attention over to the medicine kit before her, unlatching it then pulling open the lid to reveal its contents. Regardless of her readiness to treat the Pokemon upon having the Herdier be distracted, she still responded with a nod.
Potions would do for the battle injuries, but a Burn Heal and some bandages to keep the burn unexposed would be needed as well. All of which were taken out of the kit and placed by her side, before she gently smoothed out the Herdier’s fur. “ This may sting a bit, but it’ll help your wounds heal. ” Soft words were accompanied by her gentle handling of its hind leg, moving it outwards in order for her to be able to treat it properly. Which earned a huff under the Pokemon’s breath in response, but nonetheless it stayed still, opting to continue consuming the berries that was offered. Sprays of potion only induced a slight sting, and she was quickly done with it as well. The Burn Heal however, stung a fair bit more, causing the Herdier to whine softly as she dressed the burn and wrapped it with some bandages.
Upon finishing, the medicinal items were neatly put back into the kit, before said kit was placed back in her bag. “ You did well. ” Her words were accompanied with her fingers lightly scratching behind its ear, to which the Herdier closed its eyes and accepted without a fuss. Standing up, she then turned to address the other trainer, a smile pulling at her lips. “ Thank you. My job was much easier with your help... I’ve yet to introduce myself, have I? My name is Jacqueline. I’d like to know your name-- so I can thank you more properly. ” It would be a shame for her to not know of the name of such a kind trainer, of course. Though there were other things to worry about at the moment, one of which being-- “ ...Might I ask if you had planned to bring it somewhere? Extensive treatment at the nearby Pokemon Center would be my next course of action, but I’d like to know if you had anything in mind. ”

he hadn’t been expecting jacqueline to request his presence, and normally when an elite needed him, it was because there was an issue or they sought advice. iggy racked his brain as he wandered through the hallways of the living areas, his shoes quietly landing against the hardened tile– it came as a shock to many that such a large and heavy man could move so silently. whatever. made it easier for him to get around the place without cora jumping him and getting on his ass for slinking about suspiciously. still though, what could the poison-user possibly want from him ? perhaps advice on status moves, or pokemon that could be useful on her team ? he pauses before her door, a hand being raised to knock followed by a grunt of him saying who it was at the door. the champion pauses once again, shrugging and pushing the door open only to have it ‘ WHACK ‘ against something. hard. sticking his head in between the door and the door frame, he blinks at what it was the thing had ran into…. oh. it was… his elite…. his already semi-pale complexion seems to whiten further, iggy’s usually lazy expression turning into one that’s a mixture between surprise and guilt. her words only further enhance the look on his face, horror twisting his features next. ❝ w–w– ! no, no ! ❞ iggy pushes the door open just enough for him to slip inside, the door quickly shutting behind him– his hands come up to his head, one grabbing his hat off his head whilst the other quickly starts to run his fingers through his hair. a nervous habit. he was already bad enough with women, and knowing he’d physically injured one of his own damn ELITES made the blow hit harder. ❝ listen, listen ! it was a damn accident, i didn’t know ya were standin’ behind the door. next time ya call me in here i ain’t openin’ the door, you do it– last thing i wanted to do was introduce the door to yer face. ❞
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; Giggles were with much effort suppressed by the Elite in face of the Champion’s reaction, he really was oblivious to the fact that she was just being melodramatic. A rather comical expression of abject horror made it quite hard for her to maintain her own expression of hurt before him, both out of amusement and a small hint of guilt. She continued gingerly rubbing her head as he spoke, desperately attempting to rectify his unintentional actions and.. no apology? It was proper etiquette to apologize to someone after doing such a thing, whether intentional or not! Hence the lack of said apology was what lead her to decide on the continuation of this little charade.
Cue a dramatic sigh. " I wouldn’t fault you if this is due to my mistreatment of you. Though it’s partially your fault as well, I wouldn’t have to go to such extents if you were to do your paperwork ahead of time. ” And now she shook her head in disapproval, what she had spoken partially of the truth-- she was well aware that Ignatius was not the type to slam the door in someone’s face out of a need for vengeance, or even one to be vengeful no less. Part of her was simply curious to know how well the Champion knew her, and what it would take for him to finally discern this as one of her strange antics.
Hand having dropped down to her side, it was raised back up to her head once again with a look of what seemed to be... concern? Which could be due to numerous of reasons, a mystery that was quickly solved ( or deepened further ) upon her speaking. “ ...Have you been making sure to rest, Ignatius? I would think that I’d have quite a bump after that... are you getting weaker? Have you been eating well? When was the last time you left the League building? ” An assortment of questions would surely confound anyone, unable to actually figure out if she was still teasing them, or if her inquiries were out of genuine concern. Good luck to the poor Champion to figure out why she was asking them!

Priscilla hadn’t been aware of Pocus retreating to get help, so she had no way of knowing just when another trainer happened across them before the footsteps were too close. The voice caught her first, and the trainer could only narrow her eyes at the other girl’s command. Her first instinct was to lash out in response, to make it clear that she didn’t enjoy being ordered around.
“Excuse me?”
However, as the other intercepted her Priscilla was able to finally get a better look at the newcomer. Her appearance was familiar, as if she had seen her somewhere before. As a member of Team Evolution Priscilla had made sure to study individuals of importance, and since she was sure that the two had never met face to face that meant she was someone to be aware of.
Jacqueline Florence.
The name came to her within seconds, along with memories of memorizing the faces of the rest of the Elite Four. She may have made it her personal goal to know what she could of the group, but that didn’t mean she had any intention of running into any of them in the near future.
Priscilla had always made it a habit to do things out of sight, and yet here she was, just feet away from the poison trainer.
“I don’t. I only ran into it by chance.” Her answer was curt, short as she examined the elder. Priscilla regarded her with a wariness that probably appeared strange to the other. Perhaps they were strangers, but she was faced with an individual who had not only come to her aid, but would more than likely be recognized as an Elite Four member.
An ally to most, but not to Priscilla. Still, the two had a common goal, and for this instance she would choose to ignore the differences that she knew lingered between them.
“… It appears to be abandoned.”
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; There was a certain gentleness in her movements as the Elite pinpointed the several areas of injury that the Herdier had on it-- nothing that was too difficult to treat thankfully, considering her limited skill set. The Sitrus Berry that had been given seemed to help as well, seeing that it had now finished said Berry and seated itself upon the grass. Hurt was still ever present in its eyes, but it seemed to at least not be in any sort of agitated state that made it prone to be aggressive like before. Emotional distress was always harder to figure out depending on the Pokemon, so she was grateful for any sort of inkling as to how she could help the Herdier. Even if the answer seemed to not provide any useful information. “ ... I see. Then, its trainer must be-- ”
Words came to an abrupt stop upon hearing the conclusion that the other came to, a displeased expression was donned upon her features, brows furrowing and smile no longer present. Abandoned. It was an unfortunately familiar word to her, seeing that some trainers had the audacity to leave their Pokemon behind in the Pokemon Center, leaving them when they were already physically hurt. A detestable thing to do, to say the least, but one that was done by appalling trainers all the same. “ It appears that you are right. ” Softly did she speak, as she busied herself with sorting through which treatment she ought to perform on these injuries, her gaze momentarily lowered down to her hands.
Ah, that would work. One of its injuries stood out to her, a burn that singed some of its fur at its left hind leg’s knee, something that could not be tended to with a simple spray of a Potion. Rather than letting the other feel of no use, it would be quite useful for her to distract the Herdier from any stings that came from the treatment, and it would perhaps allow them to be more involved as well. Reaching into her bag, she retrieved a medicine kit of sorts along with a handful of Oran Berries, before placing the kit next to the Herdier and subsequently offering the berries to the other. “ ...If you would like, you can help distract it while I tend to its wounds. It should accept your presence, now that it’s calmer. ”

“Would you just—…!”
It was rare for Priscilla to show such distress in any situation, but the young girl had been trying to what felt like hours to calm an injured Herdier. The dog Pokemon’s coat was just a little scruffed up—probably from a recent fight—but it was still easy to tell that at one time it had belonged to someone. It’s fur, while slightly messed, looked recently washed and cared for.
Not only that, but this Herdier did not act like some untamed Pokemon that had never been handled by a person. It was justified in its aggressive behavior due to the condition it had been left in, but it didn’t appear to fear Priscilla. The poor Herdier just desired its owner over her.
For whatever reason, that owner was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Herdier had been left in an environment it more than likely had not grown up in—and would probably struggle to survive if left alone. Perhaps if it had been brought up by a trainer its odds would be different, but this dog Pokemon appeared to be kept more as a pet than anything.
Behind her sat two feline Pokemon. The female Meowstic, Hocus, appeared to be asleep. She had long grown bored of the situation, whereas her male counterpart, Pocus, merely looked on in silence. Priscilla’s full attention was on the Herdier before her, and not the pair of Meowstics behind her. Therefore, when one disappeared she had not a clue.
Only Hocus appeared to notice the absence of her brother, and yet she could not be bothered to go investigate. It was likely that he ran off to seek help for his trainer, because the odds appeared to be against the Team Evolution member for the time being.
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; Rustlings of grass were what caused her hand to shift to where her pokeballs where held, ready for any potential threat, be it a wild aggressive Pokemon or something else. The sound indicated movements that were far too light to have been from a trainer, too close by to be a shy Pokemon skittering away. Said hand relaxed however, at the sight of a Pokemon that was clearly of a trainer’s, a Meowstic that was hardly native to this area. Its approach was just as sudden as its assumed escape, though it seemed more likely that the Psychic type wished to lead her somewhere. It reminded her of something. Of when her own Pokemon searched for help when she had been in danger.
So, she followed.
It was not the trainer that was harmed. Rather, a rather agitated looking Herdier, one that was injured no less seemed to be the reason the Meowstic had brought her here. “ ...Please, move aside. ” Firm words left her lips as she strode over to the trainer’s side, who had been attempting to calm the Loyal Dog Pokemon-- and for quite some time now, from the looks of it. Exhaustion was apparent upon the other’s features, yet she was clearly determined to at the very least, try. She would thank her later. Low growls continued to come from the Herdier, pained anger displayed upon its features as it glared at her. Her approach was slow, careful, a gentle smile pulling at her lips as she shifted herself over to it.
Seated on the grass, she waited. Waited for it to accept her presence and not feel threatened by her, for its growls to slowly quieten though the glare remained. This was a Herdier that had a trainer, and was therefore, familiar with the notion of Pokemon Centers. Having it in a significantly calmer state, she retrieved a Sitrus Berry from her bag before placing it in front of the Pokemon. Perhaps it was the familiar action of wanting to provide healing that allowed it to gain some semblance of trust with this strange, equating her to not another trainer, but a healer. It took a bite out of the berry and noticeably settled down, its glare now disappearing along with its intent to continue lashing out.
The smile on her lips widen into one of relief, a hand now reaching out to gently pet its head while she used her other hand to assess its injuries. They were familiar, much like of those attained from a Pokemon Battle that she tended to during her time at Pokemon Centers, but it appeared that it was wounded much, much more in terms of its emotional state. Finally taking her attention away from the Pokemon, her gaze wandered over to the trainer and Meowstic duo. “ You... aren’t this Herdier’s trainer, are you? I apologise for my rudeness earlier... and thank you, for trying. And you, for bringing me here. ” It was evident that this trainer was not the Herdier’s from how it was acting towards her. Even if the trainer was not quite accepted by their Pokemon, the way they acted would not be to this extent. “ ...Might you know its trainer, perhaps? ”

Certainly interesting to actually sit down and discuss poison types with a poison-type trainer - insightful as well. Not that Liv was absolutely infatuated with them, but she always saw benefit in knowing as much about the different types of Pokemon as she could, especially if she’d potentially face hundreds of incredibly tough and powerful trainers in the future. Often when she and her team clashed with a poison type, it went one of two ways: her Pokemon were quick enough to take them out, or, they’d end up out for the rest of the battle. It was impressive to see how their power was often underestimated - much like fire types, with their weakness to water. Her new acquaintance should see how Gomez runs circles around the water types he’s up against.
Speaking of, Liv was a little surprised that he hadn’t been sent back out to her yet; the Houndoom really wasn’t used to being treated by nurses, and was notorious for trying to pick fights with the Blissey tending to patients, just because he was so stubborn. Liv glanced over to the nurse’s desk and the set of doors she’d last seen her Pokemon disappear behind, spying not any Pokemon recognizable to her, but to Jacqueline, apparently. The trainer eyed up the Gengar as he floated in and out of her visible sight, only becoming completely opaque upon spying them.
Ghosts! They didn’t bother or frighten her in the slightest. Perhaps her third favorite type to fire, she couldn’t help but smile just a little bit at the sight of the Gengar. (Seemed she wasn’t the only one who had some impatient Pokemon.) She should have guessed that her acquaintance had one on her team, they were fairly common after all. Liv watched as Jacqueline urged him to return to the nurses, gaze lingering a moment at those doors as though she were waiting for something to burst through next.
“I do, actually – a Chandelure,” she responded, still listening to her friend despite the apparent lack of attention. Perhaps the oddest of her bunch, known for a fairly pleasant demeanor compared to her other fire types. “They can be very well behaved, even with their occasional mischief. At least in my experience. Charlotte hardly gives me much trouble … usually it’s uh, Gomez, my Houndour, who makes Center visits like these very difficult.”
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; A smile. An unexpected one, at that, seeing that there had hardly been a sign of one throughout the entirety of their conversation. They could still be amounted to as strangers, seeing it felt all the more like a rare occurrence. And it pleased her so, having witnessed it! She too, had her attention held by the very doors her Gengar had snuck out of, though it having been an empathetic reaction of sorts upon seeing Liv’s own lingering gaze upon said doors. It did occur to her that if Gengar had gotten the chance to escape from the careful attention of the nurses, it was quite likely that her Pokemon and consequently, Liv’s would return soon. Would that perhaps also mean that the end of their interaction was nearing? Part of her hoped that the fellow applicant would not mind continuing to speak once their Pokemon were done being treated, considering that she had yet to make plans in regards of what to do next.
Chandelure, a Fire and Ghost type that was native to the Unova region, where she had spent some time helping out at the Pokemon Center in Virbank City. She remembered a trainer or two having a Litwick in their team in hopes to defeat the Gym Leader there, due to one of her Pokemon, a Whirlipede and its secondary bug typing. There were trainers that she came across while journeying across Unova who had Lampent or Chandelure among their team as well, so the evolution line was nothing unfamiliar to her. Houndoom, on the other hand... “ If you wouldn’t mind, could I meet your Pokemon? I’ve not had the chance to meet a Houndoom, and I would love to meet what other Fire-types that you have on your team. ”
Their patience was soon rewarded and her request left up in the air as the doors swung open, a pair of nurses each holding a tray of Pokeballs respectively walking out. Smiles were given to the two trainers as they approached Jacqueline ( who had already risen to her feet and walked over to them out of anticipation ) and Liv individually, holding out the tray to let them retrieve the Pokeballs before thanking them for their patience and leaving. At this moment, all the went through her mind was to do the usual-- release them to let them freely roam around. But this Pokemon Center was simply an extension of the League Building, not quite as extensive as some that had a variety of amenities. An attached outdoor area for Pokemon to roam was something they lacked, for one.
But there was the alternative of going outside of the building itself! “ I’d like to go out and let my Pokemon have some fresh air... Would you care to join me, Liv? ” Granted, Jacqueline did want to see what Pokemon Liv had on her team if the opportunity arised, but she would like to have the other’s company regardless. There was a small body of water that Dragalge had shown interest in upon their initial arrival as well, so she had planned to let him have a swim eventually. What other time better than now? “ Of course, that is if you don’t mind having me as company for a while more. You have been quite wonderful company yourself, but I do hope I have been decent company so far. ” By no means were these shallow words of flattery, she genuinely enjoyed talking to Liv-- hopefully her sentiments were properly conveyed with what she had said.
drabble: first meeting with Theodore (@gruntheo) Route outside of NORITE CITY, 4 YEARS AGO --
Agron had proven to be just an interesting as she had hoped it to be. But even with all of its charms, even this region would not be devoid of the occasional troublemaker.

Hiding out at a café for the majority of the afternoon was Theo’s attempt at momentarily escaping his peculiar lifestyle; taking the rare off-day to swap out a grunt uniform for something more normal, able to blend in with the crowd peacefully instead of being met with pointed stares and glaring. Ordering his drink beforehand, Theo had claimed a table in a more secluded corner of the room, his arms resting against the table as his chin propped against them, half-lidded eyes watching people come and go without ever paying too much attention to who it may have been that entered the café.
Reno and Rena, the pair of poison-type Pokemon that made up Theo’s team, were infinitely more alert than their trainer; huddled under the table where he sat with their ears perked and snouts pointed in the air, taking in the scents and sounds of such a new unfamiliar place. Any other time they would have ran riot around the place, excitable and energetic, but even the rowdiest of Pokemon were sympathetic towards their trainers when they oh so clearly needed a break.
Like good Pokemon they sat and stayed, remaining (surprisingly) quiet for the most part, until a certain someone had caught their eye.
It was that trainer. The one who had helped them out so long ago. What was she doing here? Had their trainer noticed? The Nidorino was the first to slowly scoot forwards, intent on trotting over and greeting the poison specialist until that finger against her lips stopped him in his tracks.
Turning to the Nidorina beside him, the pair of Pokemon exchanged confused looks. Should they stay there? Be quiet? No, that can’t be right. They were excited to see her, and she must have been excited to see them! Reno and Rena wasted no time in dashing over to the other’s table, trodding on Theo’s foot in the process and ultimately snapping him from his daydreams with a quiet yelp of pain.
Suddenly panicked, the grunt immediately glanced downwards and felt anxiety swell as he realized his pair of Pokemon had ran off somewhere to cause trouble no doubt, but after snapping his gaze up and looking around to find them, he froze in surprise at the sight of the person he hadn’t caught up with in a very long time.
"… Jacqueline?“
His voice was as timid as it had ever been, eyes widening in surprise.
"What—What are you doing here?”
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; What proceeded to happen instead should have not been any surprise to Jacqueline, but it still was. Of course she was just as excited as they were, but she never really expected the Poison type pair to be so excited that they practically bounded towards her despite her silent request. She was anything but upset with them for that, her posture now shifting to welcome her newly arrived company-- if anything, it warmed her heart that such excitement was due to her presence. A soft giggle escaped her lips upon witnessing Theodore's reactions, a wince of pain followed by panicked movements before he finally noticed her, realization then dawning upon him. Not a word was spoken in response of his inquiry, simply the tilt of her head and an ever growing smile serving in lieu of one.
Then her attention was brought back to the two Pokemon at her feet. She remembered when they had first met-- their feisty nature and stubbornness to push through their limits reminding her of her Dragalge. Having first met them in such a battered and worn state, her expression immediately softened upon seeing them so healthy and well... hopefully they did not get themselves into such trouble again since they last met. It was quite a shame that she did not get the chance to see how long it took before Theodore came to notice her presence naturally, but who was she to deny such adorable company? Adorable company that was so excited to see her, no less!
Yet another giggle escaped her lips before she finally spoke: “ It seems that I’ve been missed by you two, at least! ” She wasted no time in affectionately giving the both of them pets, along with a careful look-over of the Poison type pair. It was immediately apparent to her that Theodore had taken whatever advice she had given ( despite their limited interaction ) to heart simply by looking at two well cared for Pokemon before her. " You’ve both evolved beautifully since we last met too. I’m so proud of you. ” A certain tenderness was held in her words, her expression gentle as a smile of genuine pride graced her features– she was treating them akin to how she treated her own Pokemon. Theodore, on the other hand seemed to be being given the cold shoulder, his Pokemon taking precedence over himself; they had been first to have noticed and approached her.
The aforementioned 'cold shoulder' did not last all that long however, as she eventually got up from her seat and walked over to Theodore's table. And when she spoke, it was not at all a delayed response to his question, rather, a continuation what she had said to the Pokemon pair. “ And you, Theodore? Have you missed me? ” Her words were paired with what seemed to be a look of innocent curiosity, her head once again tilted ever so slightly as she remained by his side. Much closer to him than before, familiar features were much more visible to her- the telling signs of tiredness and a red mark on his cheek from resting it on his hands. Even his voice when he had spoken her name before, quiet yet loud enough for her to hear, gentle yet steady, though the followed question faltered ever so slightly. She wanted to ask if he had made sure to rest and so many other things... but that could wait.

a slow blink is offered as an initial response to the request she’s received, as if she’s processing the words altogether. lillian looks to her ampharos and back to the girl─ her heart skipping a few beats when the realization sets in. there’s no attempt at any sort of restraint as a wide grin spreads across the breeder’s expression, brown hues lighting up with pride. even her cheeks coat with a faint color. while she knows she’s nowhere near being ready to be labeled a professional, she feels a tremendous amount of joy knowing her hard work and studies have paid off enough to be recognized out of the plethora of people that occupied the pokécenter─ and simply through her pokémon’s appearance.
she realizes that must mean the girl herself is a strong trainer, or at least knows pokémon fairly well. again, lillian can’t help but feeling overwhelmed with joy. she’s been praised before but never approached and it has her feeling overly giddy. PROBABLY an exaggerated reaction, but lillian can’t be bothered to care at the moment. hearing the girl’s apology, lillian waves her hands before her and shakes her head.
❝ n-no need to apologize, miss! ❞she fumbles over her words a bit─ merely due to excitement─ ❝ you want to talk to me? really? ❞ a flicker of surprise momentarily intrudes, almost involuntarily, but lillian is quick to recover. her hands clasp together as she leans forward, grin widening. ❝ i would be happy to! i mean.. i’m not a professional, but i have been studying hard for a long time! ❞ she radiates at the idea of sharing her knowledge. info-dumping was a skill of her’s─ whether prompted or not.
❝ oh, but, i couldn’t ask for anything in return! ❞ lillian insists, ❝ honest! i’m happy to share what i know! it’s not fair to keep information like that so hidden. especially if it can benefit other trainers and their pokémon! that’s my goal! ❞ she chirps. her ampharos nods, nuzzling into her trainer’s hand as it’s offered. ❝ but.. i don’t mind going somewhere if that’d what you’d like! i’m not busy today! ❞
the offered name has lillian’s mouth open in awe; she knew she recognized that face!
❝ j-jacqueline? ❞ her voice drops into a whisper, ❝ of the elite four..? ❞ cranium tilts as curiosity and wonder cascade over brown hues. ❝ m-my name is lillian! ❞ she holds out a hand, ❝ i know iggy-! er, ignatius! ❞ she corrects herself, a blush tinting her cheeks over her flub, ❝ it’s really nice to meet you! ❞
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; Ahhh, it was so nice to have stumbled upon a Pokemon Breeder, one that with such a good nature no less! Her willingness to have a conversation was enough to elicit quite a bit of excitement from Jacqueline, something that could easily be noticed by the enthused mannerisms of the Elite. The mention of her not being a professional and in the midst of studying was of no issue to her-- after all, she had only worked as a nurse’s assistant and had only studied to the best of her abilities herself. Someone reaching for a goal of becoming a professional in their area was already better than herself, barring the fact that she was a member of the Elite Four. Treating Pokemon had to take an unfortunate backseat at times, due to the nature of her work.
Initially having her offer declined caused several thoughts to whir through her mind once more-- regardless whether or not the other deemed something in return unnecessary, it was simply the polite thing to do as such when asking for something. That being said, she was pleased that at the very least, that the breeder in training was susceptible to the idea of at least going somewhere to talk. “ Talking would be well paired with something to drink, so please. Let me treat you to something for taking the time to share some of your knowledge with me. For my own sake, if you will. ” What she said at the end was added as an attempt to coax her into agreeing, though she did want to see what they served at the cafe herself. Maybe even a treat for the Ampharos by her side would be nice as well.
It was when her name was echoed by the other that a look of concern flickered across her features-- so she was aware of her position. An expression of realization was what soon followed, the mention of ‘Lilian’ and the Champion’s name ( along with the initially said nickname, indicating that this was someone who knew of it ) allowing her to finally bring two and two together. “ ....Lilian! Ignatius has mentioned you in some of our conversations... What a pleasant surprise! ” Eyes wide with even more excitement than before, if that was even remotely possible, it was but a moment before Jacqueline took a hold of Lilian’s hand and spoke once again. “ That settles it then, we are most definitely going to the cafe. It would be rude of me to not treat a friend of Ignatius’ to something as small as a drink! ”
A brief glance was given to Lilian’s Ampharos, wondering if the Electric type would be disapproving of her taking away his trainer in such an impromptu manner. Having taken her hand, Jacqueline did not quite have the intention of dragging her all the way to the cafe by the hand, rather it was done out of sheer excitement. With that, she released her hold on the other’s hand, a nervous laugh escaping her lips and an apologetic expression displayed upon her features. Words of apology were then spoken: “ I apologise, it’s inappropriate of a member of the Elite Four to act this way in public. Would you agree to my request of going to the cafe nearby as somewhere more private to talk? I’ve been meaning to try the tea they serve there, and it would be the polite thing to treat you to something while we’re there. ”

@gruntheo requested for a starter!!
♔ | Lady of the ROSE ; With all the opportunities that she had for training, assisting at a Pokemon Center somewhere or meeting with a Gym Leader, it would not be of any surprise if one were to presume that the life of an Elite was not all that hectic. Without the knowledge that Jacqueline had been careful to complete the majority of her work prior to making such visits, or that there were times that she had to postpone an intended outing due to said work, such an incorrectly made presumption was to be expected. However, it did not mean that there were not times where she found herself unexpectedly free, paperwork having been cleared early and challengers at the much slower side.
And during such a rare occasion, who were to blame her if she took the opportunity to take a well-deserved break? Most outings were made with a particular intention to accomplish something, rarely unspecific or directionless. It felt rather indulgent of her to do so, but... even people with higher status deserved some rest from time to time. A spontaneous trip did usually entail a nearby location, being that she would rather be available lest anything were to occur. She thought of it as a unexpected rest day at work, so being on call was something she deemed essential-- not to say that she was not on call at all times, she was simply much more ready to deal with any sort of impromptu affair.
Yet, to have happened upon an old friend so unexpectedly... quite the series of unexpected events, was it not? As always, the Elite was careful to remain inconspicuous searching for a place of refuge when she had caught sight of a rather familiar-looking young man seated at one of the nearby cafes. Theodore. Even if it was his back facing her or they had not met in a while, Jacqueline recognized him in an instant-- call it intuition perhaps. Though, the familiar pair of Pokemon that were by his side did serve as quite a hint to his identity as well. Had they evolved since their last meeting? Sitting herself down, she placed a finger on her lips for his Pokemon before making herself comfortable and resting her head on her arms, all the while a gentle smile tugged at her lips.
Gaze settling upon him, not a single word spoken as she seemed fairly content with staying in this position for quite some time. What she did was not out of ill intent, but simply the very first thing that came to mind upon catching sight of her old friend. Watchful eyes carefully observed his familiar mannerisms and energy, her mind focusing entirely on what was occurring right now. That she was in the midst of a rather unexpected reunion with a dear friend, and nothing else. Perhaps even any sort of reaction from him would seem unheard, unseen-- it being a while longer before she opted to grace his response, if any, with her own.
