do you have any tips for students going into year 11/12? also congrats on finishing highschool!!! <3
Hi,
Thank you!
My biggest tip would be in regards to class notes. I would recommend to handwrite all your notes in one notebook so you have all your notes together at the end of the year. This makes it easier when you need to study for exams.
The other tip is to keep doing practice questions, even if it’s just a couple a week. Doing this from the start allows you to familiarise yourself with vcaa’s style of asking questions (which sucks), while also helping to learn content and how to solve problems.
Finally, if you are struggling with a subject, get a tutor (if you can - they are crazy expensive) from the start (or as close to the start) of the year as possible. This helps you stay on top of the subject and you don’t go through weeks or terms of having no idea what is going on in class.
I hope this helped and good luck! :)
happy new year everyone!
i love the moon so much 🌙
2nd pic is the moonlight from a full moon through my blinds (no editing). how insane is that? it was so bright it woke me up lol.
three out of six exams done!
six days until the english exam and i am stressing
evolution of legal note-taking
featuring my pen that’s pretty much run out
i can’t believe how close exams are.. like it’s so scary
not only is it the exams, but afterwards we’re just done school. like it’s unlikely we’ll ever go back, this place that we’ve been to for six years (13 years in my case - my primary school is next door to my high school) we won’t go back. like that’s just insane… exciting but also scary.
well hello…, it’s been a while :) i went to the monash open day yesterday and it has motivated me to study. so, i thought to maintain that motivation i will try to post here more often (watch this not happen). anyway, i have put monash bachelor of law (honours)/science as my first preference… which requires a MINIMUM 97 atar, so come along with me for my journey of inevitable disappointment :)
so, pictured above is; notes from chemistry holiday lectures, ice on the grass because it was -1°, a chemistry organic pathway flowchart with secondary alcohols, ketones, and amides missing, and a fun picture of a powerpoint slide at the monash open day.
Heyo! :D It looks like the 97 atar is the lowest selection rank for the 2022 entry, which is pretty much the atar plus additional points from seas. And that changes every year :) While the guaranteed atar for 2023 entry is 94, last year someone with an atar of 91.3 was given an offer for the course you're looking at 😁 HOWEVER, I've heard that you can transfer into any course in your second year (given that you fulfil some requirements), but I'm not sure if it also applies to double degrees 🤔 I believe in you!!!!!! :D
Omg I love this! All navigating vtac together 😭😭
I've heard similarly about the transfer! But I think you'll crush it! So wish I could have gone, hopefully next year :)
also literally just did a sac for the organic chem stuff oml someone please get rid of IR Spectrographs ahhhhh.
You've got this!! Sending so many good study vibes !
… splitting 😤

hey!
yes it is very high 😬 i talked to them and they said it’s relatively easy to change one degree if you start with another double degree, so my second preference is science/arts which i think is an 85… hopefully more achievable lol
yeah, it seems as though the open days have snuck up very quickly! i hope you get to go to some open days!
i believe in you too!
