Your Muse’s Story || Accepting
Send one in and I’ll write a drabble of my muse’s…
BACKSTORY- The events that took place before their adventure. Usually involves childhood, home life, etc.
“Are you sure this is what you want... You know she would not approve of this.” An older man reading a newspaper inquired not seeming to really pay attention to the young brown-haired man who just made a declaration.
“Yes, I do want this father. I want to follow in her footsteps to honor her memory.” The young man spoke firmly without so much as skipping a beat.
“Why enlist though, you could easily do so much more, you have the qualities of a great leader, and what about your masters in engineering, would you want that to go to waste?”
“And besides, while yes she herself did serve, do you think she would want you to let your talents go to waste?”
“That’s... Well... I suppose.”
“See? If you crumble right away when I drill you like this do you really think you would survive in the navy as she had? I know you want to do more than simply providing new advancements in technology, but if you lack the conviction to follow that desire you won’t make it very far.” the young man’s parental figure spoke firmly as he lowered the newspaper to gaze upon his son. “Again, I won’t stop you from doing what you want, but you need to be sure of what you want and you need to be able to stick to it, or you won’t do much to honor her memory.”
“Thank you... Father, perhaps... I will give it a bit more time and thought.” the young man spoke, but behind his back firmly clasped in his hands were his enlistment forms, he was already set on joining, something about the seas always called out to him, and he often wondered if it was because his mother served in the JMSDF, either way. He would not let his father try to intimidate him or sway his opinion.
