I genuinely wonder if people realize how many projects get abandoned because the readership "wasn't there", when in reality, the readership just stayed silent. It's a big thing in trad pub that book series get discontinued because readers pirate the books or wait until the series is finished to buy a copy, leading the publisher to think that nobody actually wants the book enough to continue the series, but it happens with indie creators too.
I've discontinued a lot of free, online series because it's not worth putting 3-5 hours a week into posting a project for no readers. Sometimes I finish the series for me but just never post it again, other times I don't finish it at all because it feels more worthwhile to put my time into other things. Sometimes I hear from readers who are sad or upset that I didn't finish something they were liking, but the *reason* it never got finished is because I didn't know anyone liked it. If you like something, tell the creator, tell your friends, make some noise about it. If you would be sad if a story never finished, make that interest known because one of my biggest considerations before discontinuing a series is "will people miss this? Will I be letting people down" and 9/10 times, I come to the conclusion of "no, it doesn't even seem like anyone's reading this" only to learn after I've moved on that apparently someone was.
I've said this before in a different way, and this post said it so well. With real examples.
If you like something, tell people.
If you want more content from an artist or author, if you like their stuff, tell them. It will give them creative fuel to keep going. And often it gives them other resources as well.
Recommend a work to other people. Leave a comment or a review. It doesn't have to be long, just genuine, a sentence or two.
Not many people know that a book's success is judged by book reviews as well as sales. Review the book on Amazon or another site to help it pass the metric of success and be recognized by publishers and retailers.
Welcome to the blog of the WICKED JUSTICE INDIE ANIMATION PROJECT
This blog is run by one of the project members, @/oswaldtheluckywolf
Project is owned by @/chatteringservals on instagram
WHAT IS WICKED JUSTICE?
Wicked Justice is an indie animation project set in a fantasy world following William Winchester, a black trans man living with his brother, Cerulean.
When people from their past come knocking at their door, it sets off a chain reaction of uncovered secrets: disgruntled royalty, rebellious Gods, and the unraveling of the universe as they know it.
PLANS FOR THE PROJECT
We are aiming to create a pilot episode with a runtime of 25 minutes. While we have the artists and voice actors necessary, what we currently don't have is the funds to pay them at the moment.
This is why we have created a Kickstarter (which will be linked at the end of this post.)
If it happens that the Kickstarter fails, we will put a new one up.
THAT'S COOL, CAN I HEAR MORE ABOUT THE CHARACTERS?
But of course.
The star of the show, William. A young Draconid living in solitude with the man who raised him from infancy. Callous, arrogant, and antisocial after having his twin children ripped away from him by a vengeful ex- William is forced out of his reclusive shell when reality comes knocking. Pulled out of lonesome bliss, William has to pick himself up and learn to care for others- as annoying as he finds it to be..
The nature-loving hybrid, Cerulean. Also going by Blue, the nickname his younger half-brother gave him in his youth, Cerulean took William into his care when he was only 9- after the pair were stolen from their parents' travelling caravan as children. Understanding, protective, and vastly knowledgeable, the man acts as a rock for William- there in even his darkest moments.. including the uprooting of their lives as they know it.
While there would obviously be MANY more characters down the line, this is who the pilot will focus on.
COOL, WHAT'S MY MONEY GOING TO GO TO IF I SUPPORT THIS PROJECT?
I'm glad you asked.
The majority of the budget ($25,000) for this Kickstarter goes toward animation to ensure it is the best quality, to give ample compensation for time, and allow any mistakes to be corrected during production. The remaining percentages go towards voice talent ($10,000 for a voice acting department of 30+ active talents), reward fulfillment ($5,000 for production of merchandise and shipping fees), then the remaining $5,000 is to be put towards other artists on the team who complete reference sheets, concept art, and background scenery- as well as the director's time for script to be completed.
On top of this, you can earn different rewards on the kickstarter such as stickers, keychains, plushies, and prints.

It was never supposed to happen. One bad decision, one moment of panic, one mistake that can't be undone.
Now, far from home and trapped together in an isolated military outpost, a group of soldiers are forced to live with the consequences of what they did. As rumours spread through nearby villages and suspicion begins to turn inward, guilt festers into paranoia. Friendships fracture. Loyalties rot. Secrets that should have stayed buried claw their way back to the surface.
Because the hardest thing to survive isn't war.
It's knowing exactly what you're capable of.
this is a dark psychological horror novel about guilt, complicity, grief, and the slow destruction of people who can no longer live with themselves.
