My friend had to leave work early today to pick her daughter up at school because she got a call that her daughter was being threatened. A boy asked her out and she said no, so the boy wrote her a letter saying he was going to shoot her and kill her. The girl’s friend saw this letter and confronted the boy about it, so he tore it up. Later, the boy was overheard telling his friends that he wanted to kill the girl.

THEY ARE TWELVE YEARS OLD.

This honestly makes me so afraid to bring a baby into this world. What if it’s a boy, and no matter how hard I try to raise him to never behave this way, this is how he sees his friends act and decides to mirror it so his friends will accept him? Even worse, what if I have a girl, and something like this happens to her?

My heart just broke for this girl and for my friend who has to pick her up and explain to her that this is the world we live in. That you always have the right to say no, but that you need to be careful. That men are dangerous.

What if she’s afraid to say no in the future and ends up hurt?
