Herve Guibert (1981) Self Portrait Herve Guibert was a French writer and photographer. Diagnosed with AIDS in 1988, Guibert wrote three auto fictional novels and was the subject of a documentary, all documenting his daily life dealing with AIDS. He passed away on December 27, 1991 at the age of 36. He is considered to have had a considerable role in changing French public attitudes towards HIV/AIDS
Herve married Christine Seemuller in June of 1989 , the partner of his long time lover Thierry Jouno, so that his royalty income would eventually pass to her and her two children.
