I received a response from Senator Dianne Feinstein today regarding Rural and Tribal Voter rights. A bill I voted on on Countable.
Here's the text:
Dear <hidden>:
Thank you for your letter regarding the "Rural and Tribal Voter Rights Act." I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.
On July 31, 2014, Senator John Walsh (D-MT) introduced the "Rural and Tribal Voter Rights Act" (S. 2751), which would provide federal funding for states to expand and improve early voting on tribal lands in order to protect voting rights and increase access to the electoral process for Native Americans. Specifically, the bill would require states to provide at least one early voting polling location on tribal land if requested by the tribal government, and make early voting available to any eligible voter for at least 10 days prior to a federal election. S. 2751 is currently awaiting consideration in the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, of which I am a member.
Please know that I have made careful note of your views on this matter and will keep them in mind should S. 2751 come before me for consideration in the Senate.
Once again, thank you for sharing your thoughts. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, D.C., office at (202) 224-3841 or visit my website at http://feinstein.senate.gov.
Sincerely yours,
Dianne Feinstein - United States Senator
