I did the writing, backgrounds, character sprites, ui art, and some of the music.

Hello, hello!

I’m not dead!!

I know I said like….last year it would be done soon.

Oops.

But hey!! We’re actually close! There’s some or…a lot of changes, but hey! There’s some actually stuff done and we have just a few bug fixes before the demo will be here !!

Sorry about the slow in updates. Life gets in the way of fun, ya know?

Well the demo is slow going, but I’ve done some script revising and so the story I’ve presented has changed! Including a lot of the art. Hell i even changed the main character and some other stuff. I do think it was for the best! I’ll submit some of the new art and give what I’ve changed !

Evernight is the fun, fae filled romance visual novel for the Otome Game Jam! I'm happy to spotlight it here as I helped work on the backgrounds.

Some designs for the teachers + dean!

From top left is the wonderful and yet intimidating dean, the aunt of Tatianna Rosehart, otherwise known as the dean of Rosehart academy, Gloria Rosehart! Her earring is the school emblem which is also the crest of the royal family.

Top right is a familiar face, our adorably sleepy math teacher, Doris Maribelle. Her sweet mouse ears pair so well with her sleepy eyes.

Bottom left is Agnes Pasdedeux! The ballet teacher and dorm leader. Her qualities are based off the Duchess from Alice in Wonderland and the ballet teacher from Princess Tutu!

Bottom right is Sandra Dee, the art teacher! A bit of an airhead, but one of the most friendly and creative teachers at Rosehart Academy!

I found them all excellent examples and ways to reach myself to try and draw older women. Obviously they’re not all the same age.

This is the old title screen! Was a rough draft for sure, but it set up a lot! You can see sprinkles of that art nouveau inspiration with the leaves and flowers.

This is a speed paint of my original design for Claudia obviously more femme leaning which I changed to be more masc leaning to even out them and be more androgynous. From the start I figured most Cheshire Cat human designs were too sexual and not mischievous enough in a fun way separate from any sexual undertones.

This is a cute fan art/art trade with a user from discord! I am not posting their discord because they are not 18+ and I don’t want to give their contact out.

I did a little redraw of my main character, Inui! It’s surprising how much my art has changed in what only is like a few months.

She hasn’t changed too much design wise, but that could always change in the final game! By that I don’t mean the demo, but the true final game! I sure hope I get to finish it one day!

For now the demo should be done soon and I’m excited!

Update:

My coding team are working on some bugs and fixes.

Fun fact: work in a similar size canvas for sprites so they don’t end up oddly sized from each other!

I recently moved so art has come to a stop as I grocery shop and move in all my belongings. I still expect that middle or end of may for the demo to be done, but nothing for sure.

I will definitely try and keep more frequent updates once I get my computer set up and such!

It feels weird being able to be called a game dev. I mean Toby Fox, Kojima, ConcernedApe, Miyamoto, etc. all are game devs. But I’m just a lil guy.

I’m like a baby dev. I wrote a silly story and drew some silly little guys and tossed some code at them.
