Hi, my name is Alex and I've been following your work on AO3 since you wrote I Know You.....at the time I didn't know it but I'm a trans man......and I'd like to know 2 things, if possible. Why did you delete the sequel you had made for the RWBY Witch saga fic? And is it just me or in the rewrite you did of 2024 did Yang become a trans woman? If you don't want to answer I understand......and thank you for writing all the stories in the first place, you're amazing.

Well, first of all Alex I’d like to thank you for sticking around for so long! I’ve come a long way since I Know You lol, and I appreciate those who’ve come along with me for the ride.

In regards to the sequel fic I attempted for I Know You, at the time I was leaning more masculine, as I was when I was writing IKY. Writing has always been a way for me to express my feelings and reflect my experiences! However, after a while I realized I didn’t like the way I was characterizing some of the other characters / working the plot. So I decided to scrap it, and try again when I felt better versed, and like I had something better to say / explore. That’s why it took a while to pick IKY up again- this time in the form of a rewrite.

As for Yang’s identity as a transwoman in IKY2024, you’d be correct! Since writing IKY, I’ve been engaged a lot more with the RWBY community, and I have a couple amazing friends who have really changed my perspective on Yang and her character. I find I personally connect more right now with Yang’s identity through a lens of transwomanhood- particularly because in the last few years I’ve really come into my femininity and learned to be comfortable in myself and presenting that way. Like I mentioned before, I use my writing as an opportunity to explore my own identity and experiences and reflect them back for people to relate to. That’s definitely happening again with IKY2024! Lol.

I’m glad you’ve been here for so long and it makes me really happy to know people like my writing enough to keep tabs! Especially IKY- since it was my first real fic, it makes my heart really warm to see!
