If this guy knew that he was speaking to a trained assassin, Yelena was positive that he would’ve been so condescending. Was he seriously implying that this was her fault? She crossed her arms, and let her face fall into a scowl. “You think I take pleasure in bumping into strangers?” She said, playing up the Russian accent. Usually she’d hide it, but it did come in handy in situations like this. “I don’t see why I need to apologize. You bumped into me, and then you told me to watch where I was going. I wasn’t trying to be intimidating, I was just rightfully offended.”
There was something behind her glare that made Jonathan a little uncertain of the path he’d chosen to take with his initial retorts, as if she was hiding some surety of herself that made her entirely unafraid of others. Interesting... perhaps it was time to change tack. The change of accent did not escape his notice, he thought of the times when he let his antiquated Georgian drawl slip into his voice to give his words the righteousness of a preacher. Using her accent (he guessed Russian, though he had limited knowledge of the accents of Eastern Europe, so perhaps it was that of another country?) as a prosodic tool was something he respected. “No, I do not, I apologise,” he bobbed his head in contrition, and offered a hand to shake, “I acted extremely rashly there, and should not have been looking to accuse... especially not a fellow visitor to this city. Have you been here long?”
