As a Gen-X writer, I don't bother with word counts. I end my chapters when I feel the actions for any given chapter has come to its conclusion, or emotional beat. (Depending on the book). The only type of measurement is the number of pages per chapter, I try to keep it to 7 pages, but again, that depends on the book. The current one I'm writing has one chapter that is something like 18 pages long.

Communities to Avoid: Aspiring Authors Guild, & Writing Tea & Tips.

The first kicked a friend of mine for "inappropriate behavior" They were not only kicked out, but banned, without warning. They couldn't even see which post was the "inappropriate" one. But we figure it was either their intro post, where the were nice enough to give warning that their blog contained NSFW content. (AAG has it in their rules that NSFW content is not to be posted in the community. If they banned my friend for having it in their PERSONAL blog, that's just over-reach policing. You don't want it in the community is one thing, but overreacting because someone has it in their personal blog? that's just fucking stupid.

The second community "Writing Tea & Tips" is a purity moderating Anti-A.I. group. My friend was banned from that community because they use A.I help in creating their books, as well as using it to create the covers for their books. One member really took offence to my friends use of A.I, again, in their PERSONAL BLOG, and because my friend is Gen-X, like myself, and we don't back down or apologize for our actions, the "offended" member got my friend banned.
